So guess who got a big break from their projects and was also informed about Clowns boundaries? <XD Me!!
I was super cautious to draw fanart of these characters at first.. But after getting some informative comments (thank you guys!) and thinking it though.. I don't think any of my artwork would cross a line. So here I am! And BOY do I have a lot of experimenting to do on these partial redesigns.
I'm sure you've noticed Sally is bright blue and very spikey. I was going for a young blue star look, but now that I'm looking at it.. ehh,, blue might not be her color, idk. Also her cool glow effect took so long to draw that I only drew it on 1 canvas. So definitely gotta think of a better way to draw her glow.. Barnaby needs some work too. I don't like how his fur patches came out. They look spray painted on.. Also Frank's vest and Sally's sweater took AGES to draw. I either need to find a faster way to draw them or just redesign them all together. Same with Poppys feathers, they took forever to color-- aaaa
ANYWAY, you guys get the point XDD First time drawing these guys to the fullest and my interpretations need some work. But I hope you like these drawings none the less!

I've been trying to find more things to draw with the Welcome Home characters, so that I could experiment with their designs more. I figured memes might be a good thing to try so I went with that! :00
I tried different patterns for Barnaby, but he still needs some work. Sally too.. her color pallet doesn't work for me yet. :/ More monstrous features for Julie and more relaxed expressions for Wally.. hmm.. I still have a loooot of experimenting to do <XD

i would like to note that my dear beloved Jaime (@/awkwardalphajay here on our very own hellsite<3 check em out <3) helped out a Ton by sending inspiration photos and providing insightful commentary on details and vibes!
overall i wanted Sally to have fancy vibes! while i was originally going to have her fit very much based on her canon one, i wound up veering off course and - while still keeping some elements - mostly went for Medieval Entertainer and Her House insp! continuing with the day/night theme, and leaning heavily into the fire aspect - she's a literal star fallen to earth, after all!
it was suggested that she should have dragonscale used in the making of her clothes since she's, you know, kind of made of fire! and it was genius! I imagine she has extra fire charms on this fit and also the rest of her clothes, since dragonscale is hard to come by and is a finite resource once Gathered. she gets better at Not burning everything she wears over time, thankfully!
i think that, like Frank, she'd have One (1) Dagger. for emergencies! it's likely very ornate, and she'd hate to scuff up the gleaming blade. Probably. plus, why would she need it? she's got firepower, babey!
there isn't quite as much to say about this as usual... mostly because this one was more Vibes than strategic "ok this and this and this because this and also-" i was just! makin a fun outfit!

Seeing my old Welcome Home AU stuff inspired me to come back and draw Julie! Out of all the backstories my AU gives the cast, I always liked Julie's the most. :}
As ya'll can see I experimented with her design a bit more and made her look more monstrous. A tail here, some spots over there.. Some animal-like feet and pointy ears.. nothing that would make her look too crazy though. Its the first pass but I think it looks nice! I might just keep her this way :}}

I feel like the neighbours (especially Sally) would have fun with dnd. Some of them are definitely taking it more seriously than others. It is a setting where Barnaby's jokes has to be tolerated, Frank can be as calculated as he's like, all of Julie's spontaneous ideas has a place, howdy gets his fill of chuckles, Eddie gets to make the props and figures helped along by Wally colouring them, Poppy baking snacks for each of their sessions, and Sally can be as dramatic of a DM as she desires. Though she still has to play through the neighbours' shenanigans.

Day 4 of painting faces of Welcome home characters! Today i was making Sally 🌠 🌠 🌠 and i think she turned out great!

I have finally remembered about my unfinished sketchbook, it's time to make some n o r m a l tradition sketches! (◡‿◡✿)
I love that kind of ideas, a lot of people love to name ships from something, so now, it's your chance ! Use your creativity to name all the ships from Welcome Home !
Let's see wich names are more popular and let's see who just have no taste at naming things !
So I wanna start a little project involving Welcome Home ships and what we should be calling them.
It’s hard to find a ship you like when there isn’t a ship name SO today, I’m gonna start gathering ships and ship names! They’ll all be documented into this Google form and whatever the most common ship name I see for a particular ship it will become the unofficial ship name. Once I collect enough data (or people stop sending in names) I will calculate the popularity of the names. Then I will put them into a permanent Google doc or Carrd to keep track of em.
This will be completely anonymous so if you wanna help with this project, please send in names for ships or a ship and a name of your choice into this Google form! Thanks to all who help!
Welcome Home is extremely interesting to me and I really like it but I'm unfortunately not smart enough to figure out how to access all these secrets on the site hehe... so I'm a happy second-hand spectator reading everyone's theories and letting them tell me all the cool new facts from updates!!
After reading a few things I'm starting to understand the new update, specifically the part with Eddie.
But it's making me think about other things...
The main one is Eddie's big lift. Now please take this with a pinch of salt because I am just going off my memory (which is not the nicest to me hehe!) but when Eddie fell down after lifting up Barnaby, everyone ran off without helping Eddie back up, despite him being the main person they needed to prove each other's points.
And even though Frank didn't join in, he also left Eddie on the floor, the only difference being he was talking to him a little before he left. So my point is.. It does seem quite common for Eddie to not get much help or... recognition, I suppose? So from what I can remember, it's sort of always been this way, him being in a way, left out and all...
Perhaps I'm wrong and please feel free to give your thoughts and corrections hehe!
I don't draw all too very much, but I like the thought of when people draw all the Welcome Home characters together in a sort of comic format... they look at the reader.
For example Wally is commonly drawn to look at us, but wouldn't it be kind of fun if, specifically in a comic format, Eddie would sometimes glance at us?
I think it'd be interesting to have the more aware characters look at us more!!
