Thanks, & well spotted! You’re the first to notice / say anything about Laventon’s wedding band!

So, a little lore here: lots of people think that Laventon is in fact Leon & Hop’s ancestor, going by their color-palettes & small design details (eg. Laventon’s striped trousers matching Leon’s champion shirt)

This leads me to believe that Laventon has a family back in Galar - it wasn’t out of the ordinary for naturalists to go on years-long expeditions to other countries during that time period in our world, so why not the Pokémon world?

As for who he’s married to, I was planning on sharing that further along in the comic, in the form of a small photograph he keeps on his person, maybe in a locket or pocket watch?

Open to suggestions for names - I’ve been playing with the idea that Laventon’s full name is something like Leonidas H. Laventon (like Leon & Hop were named after him), while his wife & child(ren) probably have typical British names.

i took a little peak at all the works here, and the comic so far, sounds like a really interesting story i look forward to more! keep up the good work!

Aww, thanks! I wasn’t originally going to post it here (I’m mostly on Instagram), but then as I browsed more in the Submas community here, I wanted to be more actively part of it, you know? There are so many wonderful artists & comics here. ^_^

Ikrit’s PKMN Timeline

Unlike me, the mister actually played through just about every single region (currently playing through Alola in Ultra Sun, the last region he hasn’t visited) along with a bunch of crazy mods, challenges, & randomizers. This translated into Ikrit: a very intelligent & capable trainer who has done a lot of traveling, mostly for field research for Hoenn’s meteoriticist, Professor Cozmo, though now he also travels with Ansy. 🌠

Ikrit’s home region is Hoenn (which is kinda funny considering that out of the two of us, I’m actually the one with family ties to southern Japan, where Hoenn is based lol!) though now he lives with Ansy in Unova when not running around other regions. His designs are also based on the male PC, albeit with a usually darker palette. His trainer class is PKMN Researcher, though it doesn’t reflect much in his design lol.

Before me, the mister didn’t really nickname his Pokémon, but we thought it’d be funny if Ikrit’s Pokémon were named after Fire Emblem characters (his favorite game series) - we had a lot of fun name these lol. The only exception is his main, Sasha the Glaceon - a long time ago, he told me he liked the name, & how it could be used for a boy or girl (PS: Sasha is a boy)

PS: OH ALSO! So the inside joke about Y, how he met a “certain girl” & she forgot - the mister had said one of his fondest memories while we were dating was replaying X & Y together. I…forgot all about it. 😅 I remember now, but yeah, that’s the joke. 😂

DxP REWRITE - Jubilife

Just putting it out there now - I’ll be lifting shots from the amazing BDSP artbook to show off 1) how awesome the concept art was, & 2) what we almost got in-game, something more like Sword / Shield (DANGIT 🥲).

I also used screenshots I took to help draw out backgrounds, which was very useful as we go back to that time period to see what Mizumi’s up to.

The benefit of being someone who played Legends Arceus before BDSP is that I can look at buildings & landmarks with fresh eyes. The first moment I saw the Trainer’s School, I thought of a repainted Galaxy HQ with all the rooms & offices being converted into classrooms.

Speaking of schools, in case you missed Scarlet x Violet, Uva & Naranja Academies became one school with 2 wings (Uva & Naranja) after the separate timelines Ansy & Ikrit were on converged

PS: a couple screenshots to help illustrate my HC - obviously they developed the design in Legends Arceus, but the elements are there. I can easily see Kamado’s office being the principal’s office, Cyllene’s office being adminstrations, flanked by the science lab (Professor Laventon’s study) & nurses’ office (infirmary), etc. 🏫

Also, with this theory, the Pokémon center is in the same spot as where you also go to rest up your team: your quarters in PLA!

水の日おめでとう! Happy Water (Vaporeon) Day! 🌧️💧💦

Very last minute decision lol, like I JUST drew this - I figured I owed it to Rain to make something for her day! 🩵

There are a number of Japanese nature holidays (Greenery Day, Sea Day, Mountain Day, etc). Today, Water Day is a more recent addition, & Vaporeon is the official mascot / ambassador! Along with this Pokedex entry (my favorite!), Vaporeon’s cellular structure is closer to water, & so can melt into water seamlessly (hence why they can learn Acid Armor). They also like to live by beautiful, clean lakesides, & hunt fish PKMN. 🐟 

While I’ve yet to have a in-game version of Rain who has her Hidden Ability, Hydration (heals status conditions in rain), that‘s her canon ability in DxP REWRITE & all her adventures with Ansy - perfect as a team lead for a rain team. 🌧️ 

Captain Skyla

Listening to “Liberation of Gracemeria” (Ace Combat 6) again made me want to share this adult Skyla concept I made. I like to think this was set maybe right after getting off the phone with Ansy, heading out to personally make that express delivery from Kitakami to Nimbasa City.

She’s shown up a couple times in DxP REWRITE (namely, delivering Ansy’s letter to Emmet, & flying him over to Sinnoh with Elesa), mostly because she is my all-time favorite Gym Leader - Flying-type pilot in an airport town, great design & personality, Swanna ace, etc. ✈️

In Ansy’s timeline, she starts off as a teenager learning to fly in BW, then a full-fledged pilot in her 20’s (BW2, as she flew us in game in what looked like a cargo plane). Nowadays, she’s the best pilot in Mistralton City, & maybe brought a Flying Taxi service to Unova, seeing as Blueberry Academy has one:

PS: no worries for subway fans - Flying Taxis can only take a few passengers at a time, & I’m sure there are plenty of folks who prefer to keep their feet on the ground lol.

PPS: I originally was gonna ask what Flying PKMN would be used in mainland Unova, but then the mister sensibly pointed out Braviary (especially since we fly around with its regional variant in Hisui). 🦅
