I Love How Through All This Artie Looks Dubious To Say The Least, While Paul Looks So Proud Of His Gem
I love how through all this Artie looks dubious to say the least, while Paul looks so proud of his gem of a song - if you watch the video you'll get it better than through pics, I believe.
Oh, the song they were listening to here was Cuba Sì, Nixon No, in case you were wondering.

That ring was thrown from a bridge and is buried deep down into the East River, imho. That fuck of a timeline tells no lies.
Editing to add that I still haven't solved the mystery of Artie's ring, which apparently made a single brief appearance in a 1968 concert. Stuff that keeps you up at night, I know, but I still think about it after all these years.
There you go, here you can enjoy both rings in all their glory.

Hello! Fun little research that I’ve been doing with @times-up-alone-tonight about the origins of the silver ring that Paul Simon wore on his right hand from about ‘64 until the release of the Bridge album. Here is a quick summary of our thoughts on this, and we would love to hear everyone else’s!
We’ve noticed that Paul has been wearing a silver ring on the right hand. By analyzing the photos we understood that he got it somewhere in 1964 and it disappeared in 1970. At first we had 3 versions:
1)Paul bought it himself and really liked it (but why did he get rid of it?); 2) Kathy gifted it to him; 3) It’s connected to Art
By doing deeper research we understood that Paul officially met Kathy in April of 1964. However the ring can be noticed on the cover of Wednesday Morning, 3AM and photos from the sessions. So he got it before he met her. during that time first Simon and Garfunkel reconnection happened.
Our best guess of when it disappeared is somewhere before the May of 1970, probably Bridge release date or when Art and him decided that was over. Because it can be noticed in 1969 but on May of 1970 he already didn’t have it.

Gotta love Penny. 💜

Tonight I bring you two increasingly chaotic Simon & Garfunkel anecdotes, courtesy of Penny Marshall from her autobiography, "My Mother Was Nuts."
I think the French call this joie de vivre, my darlings.

Art stands around looking stylish while Paul plots his murder (Wembley, 1982)
I know Paul said in the 60s that he enjoyed playing, singing, composing in the bathroom because of the echo, possibly with the water running - if I remember correctly, that's how The Sound of Silence was born.
Still.
"Paul Simon in the bathtub at Art Garfunkel's apartment" makes me... feel... things.
You know.
