Im A Durgestarion Shipper, But I Dont Want To Belittle The Importance Of Durges Relationship With Gortash,
I’m a durgestarion shipper, but I don’t want to belittle the importance of Durge’s relationship with Gortash, so it got me thinking and I’ve come to the funniest conclusion.
Gortash was a cuck in a chair.
Listen, Durge has a very difficult relationship with sexuality, violence and love. To be clear, my boi Jaezak is a hyper-sexual person, this is his way to cope with trauma and to unconsciously rebel against lack of body autonomy. All his lovers in pre-tadpole times ended up dead. So when Jaezak started to develop romantic feelings towards Gortash, he yearned and fantasised, but he was terrified at the thought of killing him before his time (ie the time they will rule the world together). Bhaal is a jealous, mad god, you can never be sure when he decides to interfere.
Yearning intensified, Gortash seemed willing to reciprocate and Durge is a freak.
So yeah, somehow they’ve came to this weird form of relationship, in which Durge fucked some poor bastards he had seduced, and Gortash watched and jerked off under cover of an invisibility spell. They had cuddles and kisses though.
Bhaal was even more mad about that fact than he would’ve if they had had ‘traditional’ sex, lol.

"I prayed to them all. None of them answered."
Which is a line that goes really hard and definitely hit me like a ton of bricks the first time i heard it. But then i started thinking... all of them? Surely he didn't start out praying to the most evil gods; they're hardly saviors. You probably start out praying to the "good" gods because they're good, right? But 200 years of torture and eventually you won't care who you get. Which leads me to believe.
Astarion: dear lord bhaal, please send me an angel. maybe the nicest one you have.
Durge, cackling madly post lobotomy: (:
tav complaining to shadowheart abt their period
everything’s fine until she realizes how energetic astarion is in combat the next day.
and then it just kind of. hits her.
she gives tav the most offended and disgusted look mid-battle.
(secretly though she’s not a freak-shamer I think she supports their endeavors)
I’m obsessed with the idea that Durge and Astarion knew something about each other before nautiloid. They’ve walked the same streets, lurked the same dark alleys, spent their nights at the same taverns.
Maybe they were in the same room, too busy with their targets. Maybe they’ve heard vague rumours about each other that sounded more like city legends. “Bhaalspawn? Yeah, and I’m an archduke, my ass” sort of thing. Maybe they’ve even saw each other across the ballroom, hiding their faces behind the masks at Cazador’s party. “Don’t touch that one, Astarion. No need to make enemies with the cultists”.
How tragic that they’ve never really met. Even more tragic, if they would have met, it wouldn’t change anything in their lives at the time.
