a/n: mingi is back!! and so am i!! so in tandem with the end of his hiatus, here is a (long) short that i’ve written <3 this was mirrored after something i read off reddit-

one tap: i’m here

mingi shuffled into the kitchen, greeted with the sight of you intently staring at the boiling pot. knowing that you were on the skittish side, mingi made sure to not startle you as he stood behind you. 

extending his hand, he tapped the crown of your head once. “mingi! later, okay?” you promised, quickly turning around to press a chaste kiss on his slightly puffy cheeks, before turning back to the pot. 

satisfied with the prospects of a sunday morning breakfast with you, he bustled around you, grabbing utensils and place mats. comfortable silence filled the air as mingi gazed at you lovingly. 

“here, help me with this.” mingi easily lifted the pot off the gas stove and set it down on the dining table. taking a seat beside you, he waited expectantly, looking at you. 

“thank you and good morning to you my love~” you greeted, full on hugging him now that you weren’t preoccupied. mingi sighed in your embrace; he could really get used to sunday mornings with you. 

two taps: i need you

mingi hummed under his breath, fingers drumming a beat on the cool surface of the table. with his scruffy notebook opened in front of him, he penned down another word that struck him as he listened to the song. the same process repeated itself as his foot tapped rhythmically, trying to get himself into the groove. he felt a light tap on his inner wrist and without even looking, already knew who it was. you. 

what happened next compelled him to put his pen down and remove his headset: two taps. “what’s wrong?” he worriedly pulled you into his lap.

“cramps and a massive headache. it’s...that time of the month.” you curled up and he held you tighter, “did you take your meds?” “mhm.” you clung onto him, eyes fluttering shut. 

“do you want to go home?” 

“it’s okay my big guy.” the warm air from your exhale caused shivers to run up his spine. “okay then. i’ll be here for you.” 

three taps: i love you 

“and basically wooyoung was making that sadistic-elmo-laughter in the dark that scared all of us. well more me than them. but the funniest thing was that san got back at him by putting cucumbers in his ramyeon, like how funny is that?”mingi paused to catch his breath from his recounting and faced you, hands still intertwined. 

you smiled at him, before slightly turning his hand to expose his wrist and tapping his inner wrist 3 times. he cocked his head to the left, “what’s this supposed to mean?” 

“i love you.” you punctuated each word with a tap on his inner wrist. his heart swelled at the sight of you. this whole motion of tapping each other was a signal mingi had thought of when he first met you. you then were so, so, utterly shy you could barely utter words around him. but looking at you now, mingi just loved you so much, just as much as you did for him. he pressed 3 short kisses on your lips, “i love you too.”

sangyeon -- bucket hat

definitely notices that his hat is on you as soon as you got off the bus, waving at him excitedly

apparently, you didn’t know it was his; you were in a rush this morning as you overslept, nearly late for the date

both sangyeon and you had made matching bucket hats last summer and had your names engraved at the top; sangyeon’s hat had his name, your hat had your name

despite him knowing, he decides not to say anything

it was as if you were labelled his (makes him super giddy with happiness)

jacob -- volleyball jacket

how you managed to find that, jacob didn’t know; one thing he knew however was that you did a great job in making that jacket look like yours

you had the jacket on backwards by habit + curled up in his bed + sniffling due to the cold weather = extremely cute 

“is that mine...?” “uh...yes?” you gave him a sheepish grin 

immediately drops his bag to cuddle with you, pressing his face into the juncture of your neck and shoulder

may purposely leave more of his sports attire around the room because there is something about you in his most memorable clothing that makes his heart swell 

younghoon -- chunky sneakers

younghoon is fashionable and he knows it, but the way you make his fashionable clothing very you...he likes that a lot; and the fact that you always went out of your way to dress up for him? that’s hot

for one, his feet were very big, so how you managed to wear his chunky sneakers without them falling off is a mystery

he stifles a laughter as you dashed towards him, crashing into his bigger frame 

“i see you have my sneakers on.” “insoles, if you were wondering.” you confidently answered him, reading his mind effectively 

he for sure is going to brag on any available social media platform that you two were the BEST looking couple out there

hyunjae -- old hoodie

hyunjae’s clearing out his wardrobe so that he could put in more of his clothes;  the different trends in fashion also meant that he had admittedly spent a little too much in clothes

as he’s clearing his wardrobe, he turns around and finds out that you’ve been having a “fashion show” behind his back the entire time

you stop mid action, bursting out laughing at the unreadable expression on his face 

“sorry, i just thought that these clothes were a waste and that i could...wear them?” “that looks really good on you right now.” 

“tired?”

pairing: best friend! haechan x gn! reader ↬ tags: best friends! dreamies, sleepovers!!, squid game mentioned   

summary: haechan likes you more than the dreamies; that’s good thing for one word count: 457 words  

it was a tradition for the dreamies to have fortnightly sleepovers and today it was at the dorms. with the new dorm arrangement, everyone had wanted to hold the sleepover either in renjun’s or jisung’s room, as they had solo rooms. of course you could already guess who’s room (it was definitely not jisung’s).

you were decked out in a mix of the boys' clothing: namely jaemin’s sweater, maybe jeno’s sweatpants, haechan’s avocado socks and surely renjun’s blanket draped around you, all whilst lying on his bed. 

chenle unfortunately wasn’t able to join because he had his DJ-side-gig-thing but he had kindly prepared midnight snacks. (to be honest, it was written: “none for the dreamies, all for my favourite person.”, which means angry texts in the group chat.) 

you snuggled closer to haechan, stealing his body heat as the sounds of the movie tuned out for you. jeno was determined to finish the remaining 3 episodes of squid game and without much objection, everyone was staring intently at the projection on the wall. 

you had watched squid game as soon as it was released, but held back on the spoilers because jeno had desperately wanted to find out for himself. jisung was cowering behind jaemin’s shoulder, cringing at the sight of blood. renjun had completely given up, opting to lie down on jeno’s lap and scroll through his socials. 

you glanced at haechan, who was boring holes at the projection, no doubt trying to figure out for himself the hidden meanings behind the series. stifling a yawn, you wiggled a bit in haechan’s side-hug and he turned to gaze at you. haechan, being haechan, adjusted his pillow so that you were also leaning on it. 

“tired?” you nodded, (was it that obvious?) feeling your face flush at the sheer closeness of him. haechan cleared his throat and everyone redirected their attention to him. “everyone~! my baby is going tired and is going to nap so PLEASE refrain from loud noises. thanks.” 

a chorus of “goodnights” were heard and haechan tugged on your wrist so you could lie down. thankfully the bed was parallel to the wall, so you could face away from the illuminated projection. 

tucking you in, haechan took the leftover space on the bed. he had propped himself up with the plushies littered around the bed, holding you in his embrace. lightly stroking the crown of your head, you felt your eyelids drooping as haechan blinked lazily at you, a smile gracing his face. 

you curled up into him and his arms protectively wrapped around you. the sounds blended into the background and all you could feel was the gentle soothing circles haechan was rubbing on your back and his slow breaths warming you.

“hyung could you pass me—” “—SHH!”

summary: a call gone wrong…or right, depending on how you see it (decemeber’23 me says i was too delulu for this) 

word count: 341 words

a soft ding was emitted from your phone and you tear your eyes away from your lecture notes. 

uhm, can we call now?

you read the message silently, before reading it out loud to affirm that you did not see wrongly. your close classmate, wonwoo, had texted you and you replied to him, thinking that he might need help with his work

sure thing. you can call whenever you are ready.

it wasn’t too long, before the all-too-familiar calling notification sounded and you answered the call. 

“do you need help with chemistry? or biology?” was your first question. knowing that wonwoo was a rather inattentive lad during class, he tended to rely on you for answers and for help. it wasn’t a bad thing; you had enjoyed spending time with him either ways. 

“i miss you.” you did a double take and that was when you properly looked at him in the eye (through the screen, of course.) wonwoo hugged a bear pillow close to his body and you let a breath escape you. 

“no wait. do you need help with the latest tutorial out lecturer sent? or is this a joke?” 

you were definitely trying to deny whatever he said to you. “i said: i miss you.” he stated firmly again, this time averting his eyes and running his hand through his hair. you gazed dumbfoundedly at him as he rummaged his table for his phone. 

“sorry, what?” 

your heart rate escalated and you gripped the highlighter in your hand. 

“before you say anything, this is a dare.” he covered his bright red face with his hands, “my friends had dared me to say i miss you to a close female friend. And that close female friend is you...?” 

a jumble of emotions flashed past you and you were utterly speechless.

“i’m really sorry for disturbing you. my friends are just…like that.” wonwoo cringed. “if there’s nothing on then i’ll get going.” 

and just like that he ended the call.

haknyeon -- oversized hoodies

(okay now you may be wondering...hey isn’t it the same thing as hyunjae’s? uhm well i-i have nothing to say)

okay so! oversized hoodies! haknyeon has a bunch of hoodies, especially oversized hoodies

but what you don’t know is that he’s buying one size bigger than his usual size, so that’s like close to twice or even thrice your size 

why? he likes your sweater paws...like is obsessed 

“haknyeon! help me grab that please?” he stops in his tracks, seeing you make grabby hands at the cup that’s been stored high up. “do that again.” “do...what?” 

sunwoo -- fingerless gloves

if sangyeon’s the first person to notice, sunwoo would be the second most observant in my opinion

did a double take when he realized it was his fingerless gloves that you were wearing 

“honey, that’s mine...” “i don’t like how sweaty my palms get when cycling.” you volleyed back, wiggling your fingers while showing off and effectively making sunwoo bewildered (in a good way don’t worry)

thinks that you’re really hot like UNBELIEVABLY HOT in fingerless gloves 

actually stares at how pretty your hands look in those gloves like the boy’s whipped 

eric -- (fake) glasses

okay,, the only reason why you used his fake glasses was to hide your eyebags from staying up late

eric didn’t notice that it was his, until he had wanted to wear them that he realized that it was already on you 

“...okay you keep my glasses; i’ll wear my other pair.” “oh, do you want it back? i-i can go borrow from sunwoo.” “NO...i mean you look really cute right now. just keep it on.” 

very happy that he made you blush; it’s okay if you wore his favorite pair of (fake, FAKE!! reminded himself) glasses

he wasn’t by any means short sighted, it was just a fashion statement (on you)
