“Marvel marathon. Tonight. My place.” Hyunjae read out the text and he shot out of the bed. “Let me guess. Superhero marathon with our neighbour next door?” Juhaknyeon playfully wiggled his eyebrows and Hyunjae’s hand landed on his pillow, picking it up and flinging it at the younger boy. “Okay! Okay! Off the lights when you go out.” Hyunjae rolled his eyes, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he thought about how much cuddles he was going to give you.

“I’ve got the ice cream and fried chicken! Bring the CDs! Love you~” He read a new text sent by you and he walked into the living room to take out the CDs. He giggled as he re-read your message, earning a death glare from Q and Sunwoo who were trying to enjoy their horror movie. He ducked out of their sight and quickly left the dorm, going up one flight of stairs to your one room apartment at the end. 

“Hyunjae!” Your excited face caused his heart to burst into a million butterflies. “I missed you so much!” You led him in and he closed the door. You let out a squeal when he pulled you in for a chaste kiss, “I missed you more. Good thing I bought the latest movies.” Hyunjae waved the CDs in front of you and you grinned at him, effectively increasing his heart rate.

“I got you your favourite chicken and ice cream. Aren’t I the best?” You pulled him to the couch, where you had previously put some comforters and cushions on. “Of course. I’ll set it up for you.” He stopped in tracks to pull you in for a hug, “Thank you for this. I really needed it.” He gazed at you and you blushed. “Hyunjae! You’re being so cheesy.”

“And you’re being so adorable right now.”

“Are you crying?” “I’m sad that Spiderman died.” You had your head on his lap and he gave a little chuckle as he wiped away your tears. 

“You’re so emotional.” “I’m not! It’s just the acting that was so touching. You were tearing up too” 

“Sure.”

You were snuggled in between his legs, occasionally yawning. He tucked his chin on top of your head as he stroked your nape, “If you’re tired, we can go and sleep.” “M’fine. I want to watch Scarlet Witch in action.” You reach up to pat his head, but he knows that you’ve dozed off more than once or twice while watching Endgame. 

Maneuvering his arm around you, he found you half-wake in his arms as he grabbed the remote control and switched it off. “H-hyunjae?” “We’re going to bed. You have to wake up early tomorrow.” You pushed yourself off so Hyunjae can move. He disposed of the trash and he came back to the couch to find you sleeping upright. 

“Aigoo. You must be really tired.” He easily carried you up and he shuffled into the bathroom. “Wash up.” He laughed at your reminder and he helped you to the toilet. He made a quick work of washing up and he slowly brought you to bed. "You're clingy when you're tired. In a good way." He was pretty sure you were sleeping on your feet and he chuckled. 

"Let's sleep." He guided you to your bed and you flopped down, making grabby hands for him to join you. In darkness, he adjusted so that he was the big spoon. "Night night." You mumbled and he pressed a kiss on your forehead. 

"Goodnight baby."

“I don’t think she sees me as a potential boyfriend.” Hyunjae slumped over on the table. The other two 97 liners who were sitting around him inched closer. Jacob patted his back, “Why say that? So long noona’s single, you will always stand a chance.” Younghoon propped his head on his palm, “Well, you should see her around people who are younger than her. She practically mothers them.” Hyunjae knows that for starters. You are a 95 liner and you sure have a lot of friends. Guy friends. 

“That’s why I can’t get her to see me as a man! She thinks I’m her little brother.” Hyunjae pouted. “Bring her on a date and show her who’s boss.” Sangyeon walked past them and into the kitchen. “I mean...that did cross my mind. But what to do?” Jacob mused. “I have a tennis competition coming up in four days. And it’s on April Fools!” “OMG OMG! Then you can get her to support you!” Hyunjae felt a lightbulb go off in his brain, “What if I confessed? If she rejects me, I can say April Fools back!” 

“Don’t screw up your competition though.” Sangyeon sauntered back out of the kitchen and into his room. “You guys will be there right? To support me for the competition I mean.” Hyunjae pushed himself off the surface of the table.  “Of course!” Jacob and Younghoon agreed readily. “We’ll get a small bouquet of flowers. If it’s successful, she’ll take it home. If it fails, we’ll take it home.” Younghoon pointed out. 

“Operation Bloom Bloom! Let’s get it!” Jacob excitedly yelled, causing some of their dongsaengs to shush them from their rooms. “Why bloom bloom?”

“I dunno. It’s cute. And it involves flowers?”

“Noona, would you come to watch my tennis competition?” 

“Sure! My good friend Seungcheol is participating in the seniors match.” Hyunjae felt a pinch of jealousy at the mention of his senior, but nevertheless, he smiled at you, “Okay! Cheer loudly for me!” Hyunjae waved as he dashed out of the cafeteria to his friends outside. 

“Seems like she has eyes on someone else. Seungcheol sunbae.” Jacob gasped at the news. “Right! She is good friends with the three of them.” Hyunjae felt that you were going to watch the match with Jeonghan and Joshua sunbae, the other two, and his spirits dipped. “Hey, cheer up. When it’s the juniors match, you’re going to beat all your opponents and emerge first.” Younghoon hung his arm around his shoulders.

Just as Younghoon said that, the mentioned three strolled into the cafeteria and started conversing with you. Hyunjae could make out the words “competition”, “support” and “come”. You were laughing as something Jeonghan said, while linking arms with Joshua. “Awh, man. Stop looking. We’ll come and support you for your training today.” Jacob encouraged, and Hyunjae nodded.

“And the tension is thick in here! Who will emerge victorious? Hyunjae from Sevit High or Yugyeom from Migeum High?” Hyunjae’s sweat dripped, but he held his ground steady as Yugyeom sent the ball flying towards him. He whacked so hard, he swore for a moment he saw stars. 

“And...the victory goes to Sevit High!” Younghoon and Jacob appeared from behind the glass panels and hugged him. His coach handed him his towel and water bottle, “You did well. Congratulations!” 

“She’s going to see you in a different light from now on.” Younghoon subtly gestured to where she was sitting and to his surprise, you were clapping vigorously for him and even gave him a thumbs up. “Did you see that?” “That thumbs up! Yeah!” He watched as you got out of your seat and Jacob nudged him, “Go after her! We’ll wait in the back with the flowers.” With that, Hyunjae picked up the pace and ran.

“Noona! I did well, didn't I?” Hyunjae’s heart burst with overwhelming emotions. “Yeah! I’m so proud of you! Seungcheol told me that it’s quite a feat to receive a gold medal in the inter-school competition in the first year.” You mentioned Seungcheol’s name and Hyunjae hid his fidgeting thumbs behind him. 

“Noona, I’ve got something to say. Can I be your boyfriend?” A moment of silence passed in between the both of you and Hyunjae wanted to dig a hole in the ground and bury himself along with the flowers. You gave a little chuckle and you reached out to ruffle his hair, “I’m sorry, but no. You’re cute you know, Hyunjae? You’re like my little dongsaeng.” Hyunjae couldn’t bring up the lie that it’s just a joke so he looked down at his slightly worn out shoes. At this moment, Hyunjae heard footsteps from behind him. 

“Ey~! Hyunjae! We got you flowers!” Younghoon helpfully supplied. “Come on! Let’s go celebrate!” Jacob acted out and Hyunjae gave them a nod. “Then I’ll get going, noona.” Forcing a smile on his face, he waved goodbye. You waved at him too and spun on your heels, walking the other direction. He made eye contact with his senior and he feels like April Fools was really a joke. 

“Hyunjae. Good job back there.” His curiosity got the better of him, “Sunbae, does noona like you?” Seungcheol burst out laughing, “Whatever you’re thinking, no. She’s rejected all of three of us.” 

“Huh? But why?” Younghoon asked. “I can’t tell you. A good friend’s honour not to tell that secret.” Seungcheol strolled past the three of them. “I think she might be les⁠—” Jacob pointed his finger to the sky and Hyunjae shushed him, “Don’t ruin it! Don’t!” 

“Okay! Geez! But what if she’s bi⁠—” Jacob slapped his hand over Younghoon’s mouth.

“OMG STOP! She’s just going to be my favorite noona and that’s that!” And just like that, Hyunjae was back to square one.

“Then you can afford to spend some time with me noona.” - Hyunjae

Hyunjae excitedly toed off his shoes, ready to spend the remaining time of the day with you, but he stopped short in his tracks when he saw you still in your work clothes, typing away on your laptop.

“Noona~!” He called out and he watched as you lifted your gaze to look at him. Your eyes lit up and you opened your arms and he dropped everything to run to your embrace. “God I missed you.” His heart skipped a beat and a wide smile graced his face a you looked up at him, affection filling your gaze. 

He narrowed the gap between you and him, pressing a chaste kiss, followed by a deep kiss that left you breathless. He laughed when he saw how flustered you were, “I see that you finally used the chapstick I got you. You look so adorable noona.” You giggled at his compliment, “Thank you Hyunjae. It’s a nice gift.” He stepped back, “Have you been working ever since you got home at 7?” He glanced at the click which read 10:00. 

Before you could speak up, Hyunjae gave a little frown, “You need a break.” You sighed, “I know, but I have a presentation to prepare for.” You poised your hands over the keyboard, but Hyunjae grabbed your hands, “Let’s take a shower together. You’re going to be more refreshed after that.” Without thinking twice, you moved into the bedroom, lagging behind Hyunjae. 

There wasn’t any sexual tension or anything or that sort. It was purely Hyunjae fussing over you. As you were the noona, he tended to be babied in the relationship, but now it was him taking care of you. He liked doing it and he knows that you like it too. Stripping himself bare of his stiff button up, he led you into the standing shower, adjusting the water temperature. The water was scalding, just how the both of you liked it. 

He placed his hands on your hips and nudged your bodies closer under the stream of water. Hyunjae closed his eyes as you breathed a heavy sigh of relief. “Is it that good?” He laughed as you leaned on his broad shoulders, “Mmm, yeah.” Hyunjae lightly threaded his slender fingers through your locks, working the shampoo into your roots as you did the same for his hair, giggling as you did so. 

Hyunjae was surprised that you were actually comfortable enough around him to do this. Hyunjae had seen you naked…plenty of times, of course. You two were pretty much dating now, so it happened from time to time. But showering together like this was such a domestic moment and Hyunjae kinda liked it. Plus, the two of you don’t shower together very often due to hectic schedules. 

“Wait a second.” You stuck out your tongue as you attempted to arrange his hair, closely resembling a shark’s fin, causing the two of you to burst out laughing. Hyunjae held up a soapy loofah, sporting a smile that was uncharacteristically goofy, but oh-so-genuine, “Noona, I’ll soap you up too.” 

Hyunjae turned you so your back was facing his front and he hummed a little tune as he scrubbed. He did a quick work of soaping his body too, making funny faces once in a while to entertain you as you waited for him to be done. “There we go. All nice and clean.” Hyunjae reached above to grab the two fluffy towels hanging on the rack, wrapping you up first before dabbing the water off his chest and finally loosely hanging it around his torso. 

Stepping out of the shower, Hyunjae gazed as you shivered when your feet made contact with the marble floor. “Cold~!” You immediately retracted your feet and shuffled back to Hyunjae. He good-naturedly rolled his eyes as he easily picked you up. “And what do you say noona?” You pecked his cheek, “Thank you!” He laid you down in bed and you beckoned for him to lie beside you. 

“Should I continue working?” Hyunjae lifted the covers and draped it over the both of you. “Nah. You’re pretty much done with it, no?” 

“True. I just need to convert it into a video and send it to my students in two days.” Hyunjae pulled you closer to him, “Then you can afford to spend some time with me noona. Your students can wait.” 

“Fine, but can we get into some pajamas first?”

“Hyunjae?”You just finished writing a report and you had wanted some cuddles from Hyunjae. Stifling a yawn, you stepped out of the room. Hyunjae made eye contact with you and he covered his mouth, lowering his volume, “Okay, okay. I will talk to you later. Bye!” You frowned at his secretive actions, but when you saw his eye smile any negative thoughts were wiped away and you curled up next to him. “I take it that you’ve finished your report?” You hummed as he threaded his hands through your hair. 

Sighing contentedly you adjusted yourself so that your head was in his lap. When you opened your eyes, you raised an eyebrow when you saw him busying scrolling through his phone. “Hyunjae-ah, are you busy now?” “Ah, no. Hold on, let me just text...Younghoon.” You weren’t sure if you were tired that made your cranky or you had really craved his touch but he was spending time on his phone, you got up. 

“Wait, where are you going?” He glanced up at you. Huffing, you stuff your hands into your (his) hoodie. “If you are busy then just say so.” “I am not busy! It’s just that Younghoon requires certain documents and I am sending it to him.” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes, “Yeah and you’re giggling as you’re doing that? I doubt it.” 

“Quit being so sensitive! I’ve sent the document to him already, so I’m not busy now!’ Just then a soft ding came from his phone. You spun on your heels, “I-I need a break.” You slipped on your sneakers and left the house in a hurry. 

- HJ’s POV -

He stared at the door whooshing close, mind blank. Groaning in frustration, he ran his hair through his hand. He wanted to get you a present as he got a commission recently. Looking at his phone that showed an online shopping website, he chewed the inside of his cheek and sunk into the sofa. His phone rang and he picked it up. “I screwed up. She’s mad at me.” “I wasn’t expecting such a reply. I can get it at a better price. I know a friend of a friend.” 

Hyunjae pinched the bridge of his nose, “It’s not going to be of use if she’s mad at me.” Younghoon burst out laughing, “Then get this present as an apology gift. And maybe treat her to a nice meal on top of that necklace.” Hyunjae nodded, “Yeah I might just use that. Thanks.” With that he ended the call. A loud boom caused him to snap out of his thoughts and his phone dinged, showing a message from Younghoon, “Go chase after her. It’s starting to rain where I am at.” 

A silent “oh shit” let Hyunjae’s lips and he quickly put on a coat, grabbing an umbrella. Hyunjae dashed out of the building, and he felt heavy droplets of rain falling upon him, Cursing inwardly, his eyes darted back and forth, deciding that checking the park would be a better option. The rain started falling even hardly, making a deafening noise against the walkway. With a flick of his wrist, he opened the umbrella and began his search. 

Heart beating loudly in his ears, he regretted calling you sensitive and lying to you in the first place. He had wanted to give you a surprise, yet he did the exact opposite and made you upset. He tightly clenched the handle, he peered through the curtain of rain around him, the incessant pitter-patter causing him to worry even more. Were you drenched? Were you able to find shelter to hide? Were you still mad at him? 

As he passed around the corner of the block, he saw you. You were standing under what little shelter the convenience store had to offer. “Babe!” He approached you, his feet carrying him and the umbrella long forgotten. He wrapped you in a bone crushing hug, a few stray raindrops haphazardly sliding down the side of his face. 

“Are you wet?” He quickly removed his coat and hung it over your small frame. Noting how you were partially wet, he let out a sigh of relief, “You really scared me there. I’m sorry for all the hurtful things I said to you just now.” 

He petted your head as you nodded, “It’s okay. I shouldn’t have been too demanding too.” Getting on your tip-toes, you reached up and he leaned down to kiss you. LIghtning flashed and thunder sounded, but all Hyunjae could think about was how great you were to him. So forgiving, so loving, so understanding. Attempting toexplain his earlier actions, he sheepishly rubbed the back of your neck, “I can’t tell you right now, but I promise I would never cheat on you.” 

“I understand. I believe you will tell me in time to come.”

“Let’s go home. I owe you a day’s worth cuddles, right?”

“That’s right.” Picking up your hand and the umbrella, he held you close to him as you two braved the heavy rain. 

“I hope they aren’t having too much fun.” - Hyunjae

“I wonder what they are doing inside.” Sunwoo playfully wiggled his eyebrows and Chanhee shook his head, “Leave them be. They’ve not seen each other for so long. They are probably spending some down time together.” 

Everyone (or actually just Sunwoo, Chanhee and Changmin) in the living room whipped their heads to the door when they heard Hyunjae’s laughter erupting. “I’m sorry, but did I hear that right?” Changmin commented in disbelief, his cup full of milk not reaching his mouth. “Did Hyunjae just laugh?” Jacob poked his head out of his room and the three of them nodded. Jacob hummed, “I hope they aren’t having too much fun.”

“HAHAHAHAHAHAH!” Hyunjae burst out, laughing when you accidentally dropped the controller and lost Mario Kart. “Hey! That wasn’t fair!” You huffed as you put your hands on your waist, before putting the controller down and attacking Hyunjae. He toppled over on the bed, giving you access to his sides. “Oh my god! No!” Hyunjae’s eyes widened and you began tickling his sides, giggling as you did so.

“They sure sound like they are having fun.” Eric has joined in the party, not focusing on the movie on the screen, but rather as to what’s going on inside. “I didn’t think...there would be this much laughter.” Haknyeon rubbed his chin. “SHUSH!” They are going to hear us if we speak louder than the movie.” Kevin gestured for everyone to lower their volume.

You were curled up next to him, cracking up at the variety show you two were watching. You’ve watched it a ton of times, but “Come On! The Boyz” was much better when watching it with Hyunjae. Hyunjae wiped away a tear, watching how The Boyz were playing the whisper challenge and failing miserably. “Ya, Hyunjae? How bad can you be?” The corner of your lips were turned up, a grin was splayed widely on his face. “I mean, if you were to whisper to me I think I wouldn’t be able to hear with earmuffs on.” Hyunjae pointed out. A second of silence fell amongst you two, but the two of you chuckled.

“How bad can Hyunjae be…? In bed…?” Juyeon tentatively raised an eyebrow. Some more laughter was heard and Sangyeon mirrored his actions, “Suspicious.” Jacob gasped, “ Not you too!” “Says the one who came out of the room to join us.” Younghoon shrugged. The 10 of them were seated in the living room, inching closer and closer to the room you two were in. The door swung inwards and Eric tried to remain his cool, “H-Hi noona!” Sunwoo helpfully provided as Eric’s face heated up. Everyone scrambled out of the living room, or tried to do something normal. Hyunjae stood behind you and straightened your hair. Sunwoo made eye contact with Eric and nudged him away. 

“I’ll make a move first! Bye everyone!” You waved goodbye and Hyunjae giggled, “Bye love.” Changmin and Chanhee gagged in the background while the rest of them hid their faces. Hyunjae closed the door and Younghoon immediately slid next to him, “So? Was it a smashing good time?” 

“Well, yeah.” Everyone did a double take. “What? I beat her at Mario Kart.” (cue everyone just shaking their heads)

↬ a/n: now that i’m reading this (its 7/3/23) to all the people who are so madly in love with their beloveds to have gone to such an extend are really remarkable 

“I’ve set up a blind date with CEO Park Minjae of Shinhwa Food Corporation tomorrow at 2pm. Come back home to get dressed up before going.” That was the first thing your mother mentioned as soon as you picked up the call. “Mother! I have plans!” You sat up straighter in your seat. “He’s about the same age as you and if you two have a great relationship this will boost our company as well!” Your mother pointed out. In the end, it really was all about the company. Rolling your eyes, you had an inkling your mother was going to bring up your elder brother. “Your elder brother is also doing well from his blind date!” Your brother and his wife had a very platonic relationship. It was “all for show”, as what your brother had told you. 

“Yeah, but I love Hyunjae! I’ve said it a thousand times and I won’t hesitate to say it again. “Daughter, he is not the one for you. I will not hesitate to get someone to fetch you. No more excuses on why you can’t go.” Your father’s baritone voice sounded and you zipped your mouth, pushing all the curse words that were about to escape back down into the recesses of your mind. “I expect to see you back at home by 12pm.” With that the call ended and you sagged in your seat. “Can I come in now?” Hyunjae timidly asked and you opened your arms. Running towards you he hugged you, holding you tight in his warm embrace. 

“Is it what I think it is?” You and Hyunjae have been dating for close to a year now, but your parents decided that dating a celebrity “did not look good on him and especially on you”. There have been many attempts by your mother to set you up with multiple people, but you’ve come to a point whereby you’ve run out of reasons. “Why aren’t you mad at me or anything?” You looked up at him, your arms still around his waist. 

“I know you love me. And I trust you too.” He sincerely gazed at you. You were so lucky, oh so lucky. Hyunjae loved you so deeply and you were just so full of love whenever he’s around you.  “I have a plan.” You moved to the middle of the bed and Hyunjae followed your lead. “What’s your plan?” 

You blurted out, “I bring you to see my parents tomorrow.” “Yeah sure my schedule is free...your parents?” He did a double take and you hid your face in his neck, “I don’t...know.” A slow, inkling feeling seeped through your veins, but Hyunjae pressed a kiss on your nose, “I’ll go with you if that’s what you want.” 

“I...really don’t deserve you.” You leaned over and pressed a kiss on his lips. “You do. We’ve been patient with one another.” He hummed as he pulled you into his lap,  “You with my overseas scheduling and comebacks and me with your own company. I’m grateful that we came this far.” 

“I’m grateful for you too, Hyunjae.” 

“So, dress me up tomorrow. Make me the most dashing man ever.” 

(Bursting out laughing, you promised to dress him up nicely to meet your parents. And when he showed you the brightest smile he could muster, your heart skipped a beat and you’ve fallen hard for Lee Hyunjae.)

Hyunjae stood in front of the mirror, “Do I look okay?” He straightened his grey hoodie and Younghoon rolled his eyes, “We’re only helping you cover for this once, okay?” “What hyung meant to say was you look great.” Juyeon reassured. “Tell noona we said hi!” Sunwoo gave him a thumbs up and Hyunjae bade them goodbye, thoroughly excited to see you. 

“Oppa!” Hyunjae’s face immediately lit up, hearing you before seeing you at the back of the building. He wrapped his arms around your waist, spinning you around. “How did you manage to get out?” He pressed kisses all over your face, “Let’s say I have my means.” It was a shorter-than-usual date, but Hyunjae would rather do this than practice. 

Hand intertwined, he led you to a secluded cafe you two frequent often. “I saved us a spot.” You looked up at him lovingly and he gazed at you, wondering how lucky he was to have you. ‘Why? Do I have something on my face?” You attempted to wipe off what Hyunjae was staring at, but he clasped both your hands before cupping your face, “You have pretty written all over your face.” Hyunjae chuckled as you flushed, swatting his hands away. 

“You little flirt.” Sliding into the booth across Hyunjae, he felt as if he was on his first date all over again. Fluttery hearts and slightly jittery hands. It’s been 3 months since he’s confessed and he’s really, really in love with you. 

“How has practice been?” “Other than Changmin drilling us, everything is smooth. How’s the preschool teaching going?” Hyunjae listened attentively as you shared excitedly about your day. He propped his head on his hands, giving his fullest attention to you and only you. “I’ve been talking so much~!” Hyunjae grinned as you came to a self-realisation, whining as you clasp his hands. “It’s cute. You’re cute too, which is why I love listening to you.” 

“Eat up.” Hyunjae nudged the plate closer to you. “Do you want some?” You prepared to cut the pancake but he shook his head, “I’m on a diet.'' You pouted, “I’m sure your manager will excuse you, hm?” He couldn’t resist you and ended up eating a good quarter of the pancake. “It’s better shared with you.” You blushed, swatting your hands in front of your face. Hyunjae only showed his flirty side to you, occasionally the fans and seldom the members. He loves to compliment you, tell you how pretty you look and how adorable your mannerisms are. 

Time went by so quickly, Hyunjae wished he had more time to spend with you. “Am I going to see you again this Friday?” You tugged at his sleeve and he leaned forward, bopping your nose, “Definitely. I have some time to spare after the last day of promotions! Wait for me okay?” What you did next made Hyunjae’s brain turn into goo; You tiptoed to match his height, delving into a deep kiss as a sign of acknowledgement, and love.

Hyunjae eyed at you, waiting for you to notice him. He popped another potato chip in his mouth, making sure to slowly bite the chip. 

Another crunch. 

This time you turned a slight fraction to face him, your gaze clearly telling him to stop horsing around. You two were currently seated on the sofa, sheets of the project work you were working on strewn around you. Deciding to test your limits, he reached over to the side of the table, grabbing the cold soda he bought earlier that day. 

“Listen.” He whispered next to your ear before pulling on the tab. The oh-so-satisfying sound of the fizzy soda resounded and Hyunjae tried to contain a bout of giggles. “Hyunjae, stop.” He ignored you as he took a swig of the cherry soda, gulping loudly. He grinned when he got the reaction he desired; You shivered before raising a single eyebrow, “I’m going to move into the room if you keep eating.” 

“You promised to spend time with me! We were going to play League of Legends!” Hyunjae continued the ASMR experience, talking in hushed tones. “Y-You...better stop!” He liked how flustered you were. You are a big fan of mukbang, especially the AMSR ones. Hyunjae wasn’t a professional, but he could always try. Plus he was your boyfriend after all; that gave him brownie points. 

“I won’t stop.” He crunched on another chip, grinning as he did. He saw your resolve crumble. A beat passed and Hyunjae began sprinting towards the exit, terribly elated to see you. You didn’t live too far from Cre.ker Entertainment, which was a bonus because Hyunjae could crash at your place any time. With every step he took, his smile grew wider, his heart swelling with joy.. Breathless and a little giddy from the sheer excitement, he finally reached your door. 

Fishing for his set of the keys to your apartment, he invited himself into your humble abode. “Hyunjae? Oh no, wait!” Before he could even speak, your hands flew up to cover his line of vision. “You weren’t supposed to see it!” He couldn’t see your face, but he knew you most definitely had a pout. Inch by inch, you held on to him as you two navigated the living room. “And...surprise!” Hyunjae opened his eyes to the cosy sight before him: a little pillow fort, something that he had wanted to do for sometime. “How did you know?” “Would you believe me if I asked you?” You cheekily replied. “Asked me...oh no. When I was drunk right?” A hazy memory of getting drunk a few days back surfaced and Hyunjae face-palmed. 

“Back to this. Here. Matching pajamas!” You shoved a soft, teddy bear pattern set of pajamas into his arms. “Go, go! I still need to grab the food!” You giggled, taking his bag from him and pushing him towards the toilet. “I got it.” He lightly pinched your cheeks. He made quick work of shedding his clothes and changing into the ones you handed him. 

Emerging from the toilet slightly refreshed, he padded over to the pillow fort where you were waiting with a small cake. “Did you make this?” Hyunjae gasped when you nodded, holding the cake up to him. He sat down beside you, receiving the cake as he did. “Make a wish.” You urged him. “I wish that I can see...more of your aegyo.” He closed his eyes, smiling as the words left his mouth.

definitely notices that his hat is on you as soon as you got off the bus, waving at him excitedly

apparently, you didn’t know it was his; you were in a rush this morning as you overslept, nearly late for the date

both sangyeon and you had made matching bucket hats last summer and had your names engraved at the top; sangyeon’s hat had his name, your hat had your name

despite him knowing, he decides not to say anything

it was as if you were labelled his (makes him super giddy with happiness)

how you managed to find that, jacob didn’t know; one thing he knew however was that you did a great job in making that jacket look like yours

you had the jacket on backwards by habit + curled up in his bed + sniffling due to the cold weather = extremely cute

for one, his feet were very big, so how you managed to wear his chunky sneakers without them falling off is a mystery

“My love, can we—” Hyunjae breathed. “—No.” You patted his head, before returning your attention to your book. He sat up straighter, arms akimbo, “You didn’t even hear me speak!” He watched as you put your book down beside you. In hindsight, he’d find this scene rather funny, just him crouching beside you on the bed as you nonchalantly flipped through the book. 

“My dearest, whatever that is going to come out from your mouth is a no-no.” You wagged your finger and Hyunjae pouted, opting to lie down on your lap instead. “It’s not a bad suggestion~!” He whined, as you carded your fingers through his hair. You propped yourself up a little higher with a spare pillow lying on the bed, “Okay. Then what is it going to be?” 

“I want a kid.” He held up one finger as you simultaneously raised an eyebrow. Hyunjae rushed to speak, “Nuh uh! Before you speak, I say that’s a good idea! You and I would make good parents!” Still lying on your lap, he hugged your midsection, practically begging, “Awh, come on. We’d do such a great job as parents!” 

“My love, looking after one is hard enough. You want me to look after two?” You emphasized your point by holding up two fingers and Hyunjae pouted, “Hey...I’m not a kid! I can very well take care of myself!” He refuted, sitting up so he could properly be held by you. “Yeah right. Who forgets to bring their keys whenever leaving the house?” Hyunjae bashfully pointed to himself. “Who also forgets to bring extra clothing when it's cold out?” Once again, Hyunjae pointed to himself. 

“Who forgets to—” “—Okay! Fine! I’m a child!” He buried his now flushed face into your smaller frame and you chuckled, “You’re my favourite nevertheless.”
