The grave robber is a creature that is not dangerous in itself. Even when attacked they rarely fight humans. It is a common restless spirit in the eastern parts that is still trapped in its (dead) body. This spirit is looking for a place to rest - a grave of its own.
To achieve this they usually break into cemeteries or other burial places and attempt to take another's grave. This makes them immensely dangerous to have roaming the countryside since their search unavoidably unleashes other undead spirits who could be decidedly more harmful.

I picked up a hitch-hiker. I always stop for them, so I pulled over out of habit. Forgetting I was on a tween road, a ghost road, a twixt road.
"I'm going to Bonn," I said.
"What century?"
"Twenty-first."
"Close enough, I can wait there."
"Hop in."
I don't pry, but I am curious.
This basically happened in canon (superman #203 "Clark Kent's biggest day").
A gang tries to assassinate Kent and he has to pretend not to notice their attempts so he doesn't draw attention to himself. @unpretty posted parts of the comic here on Tumblr.

Highlights include:
1. The assassins shooting a Torpedo at him whereupon he simply levitates the boat he's on slightly so it can't reach them.
2. A sniper shooting (at) him during lunch - in order to make sure his lunch date doesn't notice anything he has no other choice than to EAT THE BULLET that bounced off him and dropped into his food.
The CIA tries to kill Clark Kent, not because they know he’s Superman, but because he’s a really good journalist. They keep making it look like an accident, but every plan fails. It’s a comedy as the CIA can’t figure out why their attempts always go wrong.
