A fool who realises his foolishness and opens his heart to change has a greater hope of transformation than a person considers his views and choices to be superior to all the wisdom offered to him, because it leaves no scope for improvement.

It is very important that as we grow in knowledge that we stay humble and receptive to more wisdom and correction.

The one who thinks that he knows everything does not know as he ought to.

(1-Corinthians-8:2)

Therefore, as you sit before God's word do not assume that you know it all. Rather, let your prayer be, "Lord, open my eyes so that I may see and learn wonderous things from your word."

For though God's wisdom is infinitely greater than ours, He will only teach those who are humble and contrite in spirit.

I missed church last week because I was sick from colds and I had to stay home. Reflecting on the past 2 weeks I can’t believe how easily detached I had been since being away from service and fellowship with my brethren. I love my church so much, I would say it is the life blood of every believer. I am thankful for being part of it. God has given us a family, community, Body of believers, whom we are called to love, serve, and take care of. Of course, our Father is faithful, and He never really leaves us - but as children our minds and hearts can wander easily without constant reminder, support, discipline, and love from our brothers and sisters.

This is my favorite song my church sings (and one the choir sings so beautifully!) and also where my url comes from (the second chorus goes: ‘Proclaim the Word’) - a reminder of my evangelical mission.

Just getting in the spirit I guess while I prepare to meet my church tomorrow. I have been repenting, praying, meditating, and reading the Word, and singing hymns.

I love you, Jesus. You are enough for me.

To God be all glory now and forever. Amen.

People are continually trying to do the thing which Christ pronounces impossible. They are endeavoring to be friends of the world and friends of God at the same time.

Their consciences are so far enlightened, that they feel they must have some religion. But their affections are so chained down to earthly things, that they never come up to the mark of being true Christians.

And hence they live in a state of constant discomfort. They have too much religion to be happy in the world, and they have too much of the world in their hearts to be happy in their religion.
