More Posts from Prof-ramses
....Shit I'm gonna headcanon a full design, backstory, personality and specific abstraction for each of them now, aren't I?
I spent way too much time analyzing different angles during the hallway scenes so I could build an almost complete map of the hallway in the TADC pilot:

There are 28 doors in total.
1 is never visible (may or may not be important)
10 are "blank", showing a generic mannequin
10 are crossed out
6 are the characters we see in this episode
1 is Kaufmo
So that suggests that 17 humans have entered the circus and 11 of them have gone violently insane, assuming the doors are never reused. That's a 35% survival rate at best! Not looking good for our protagonists.
A closer look at the presumably abstracted characters:

Some kind of purple jester? Kind of looks like Marx from Kirby.

A furry pink cyclops?

An orange dog.

A green and orange worm-on-a-string (iconic).

Queener??? Looks just like Kinger, but mauve, a queen chess piece instead of a king, and with cartoon "girl" eyelashes. This is almost certainly important.

Only seen during the chase scene; too blurry to make out much other than the colors orange, green, and pink. The "X" is visible, though.

A purple dragon/dinosaur with multicolored head plates.

Also only seen during the chase scene. All that can be made out is a blue blur with something yellow around neck height.

A sad yellow clown worm?

A floppy-eared blue puppet with a red flower and cartoon "girl" eyelashes. Kind of looks like a rabbit, or like Tutter the mouse from Bear in the Big Blue House.
Interestingly, we can count at least four clown/jester characters, including Kaufmo and Pomni, making it the most common "archetype". May be significant.
I kind of feel bad for having Kinger as my TADC blorbo because a lot of people do and some people probably think Jax or Pomni are my other favorites but my second favorite is actually Zooble and I'm a little miffed that they were a glorified m'guffin in the pilot. Gonna start rebloging more Zooble stuff.
Dead/Abstracted Performer Headcanons Volume 1/5
Decided to make a bunch of shit up about all the dead people who entered the digital circus (divided into pairs)

Name: Glumis (pronounced like gloom and the name Loomis)
Avatar: Relatively short and stocky inchworm (with suspenders) but his torso and arms telescope out when sufficiently excited or angry.
Personality: Self important "artiste" who initially enjoyed the circus and always gave Caine suggestions for what would make the most engaging and "well written" adventures. He carried himself as empathetic but lashed (and stretches) out when someone would criticize his ideas.
Fun fact: Kinger, Ragatha and Kaufmo were the only canonically named performers to meet Glumis before his abstraction.
Abstraction: One day he realized Caine never took his suggestions and confronted him about it, Caine tried to let him down gently but Bubble showed up and accidentally made it seem like Caine had a personal grudge against Glumis, which broke him. He was sent to the cellar before he could do any damage.

Name: Rovey (since Rover is the most common dog name)
Avatar: Avarege sized dog with a tie that covers their torso and two pairs of cufflinks on each limb (with and extra one on their left leg).
Personality: Cartoonishly boring and tranquil southerner who tried to befriend everyone to keep a healthy balance in the circus dynamic. Occasionally played into stereotypical dog behavior to amuse the other performers.
Fun fact: Rovey was among the first four people to enter the program (even before the chess pieces) and due to a one-off bug forgot what gender they identified as in the real word (he/him, in case you were wondering). Bonus: They could emit stock dog noises.
Abstraction: When new humans entered the digital circus for the first time since their arrival Rovey was so disturbed by the sheer idea of unknowing people being trapped there that it depressed them to the point of Abstraction. They glitched the newbie and two other "original" humans in there rampage by the lake. (The last original had already abstracted)
Volume 2
Volume 3
Volume 4
Volume 5
So the OST of The Amazing Digital Circus pilot dropped and I wanna talk about it.
Of course we already had the main theme but it's always welcome.
Welcome to the Show is the first of Evan Alderete's work I've encountered but I already like the guy's style
The fact that the next song is literally called Get Iseaki'd means so much to me, a perfect distillation of what I love about Gooseworx unique brand of weirdness.
All of It fittingly feels like a menu or level select theme and has such an eager energy that fits perfectly.
XDDCC reminds me of the works of Louie Zong and something else that I can't quite place.
I really hope Today's Adventure plays for every episode's adventure introduction, which fortunately for me, seems likely as Goose wrote it herself.
Useless Blivots is quirky and some parts of it feel like a dopey game over/fail theme, fitting since it's around this point that the situation really sets in for Pomni.
Conversation Piece also feels made to be a reoccurring piece and has a feel similar to the Spooky Month OST, which is never a bad thing.
Kaufmo the Clown is actually way more intense than I remember from watching the episode, not much to say but a really strong and tense theme.
I can see why Gone Mad went unused, it's good but it feels like it would've worked better in a later episode when something assumed stable by the characters AND the audience goes wrong.
Love the suspense in Wrong Doors, very different type of intimidating from Kaufmo's theme.
Worm Mom is a perfect theme for an NPC/adventure villain like the Gloink Queen, certainly some Grant Kirkhope inspiration here.
The tense but sort of adventurous tone of Enter Exit is great for setting a scene.
And Going Nowhere is even better at building off of that scene and filling it with fear and mystery.
Dinner For Two immediately made me think of Little King's Story, which is a very good thing.
Sorry About That neatly fills the narrative role while also having the vibe of both and epilogue theme and a pause theme. Potentially another regular theme.
Your New Home is the song everyone knows thanks to memes and is nothing short of a perfect remix of the main theme to end of the pilot.
Digital Days, we finally have a name for the hella underrated credits song!
And that's all I've got to say about the soundtrack, I didn't quite realize how rich and varied it was until now, guess that's what individual soundtracks are for. Can't wait to see how it grows along with the show in the future, really, an all-around phenomenal production.
