The worst feeling is when you and your partner both listen to Don't Tell Your WIFE About This Game! by Brian David Gilbert
You are struck by the very blatant, yet poetically tragic tale of a failing marriage, doomed by lack of motivation to make an effort. The words resonate with you. You find yourself tearing up because how could you not? This is a song about your relationship, after all. You never really thought about how distant you've become from your partner until this song laid it out almost beat for beat. Part of you wonders if it's too late, or if you could turn things around. Maybe talking it out really is as easy as saying the words, "Hey I think we should talk about this quiet rift between us"...
And your partner's only response to the video is "The music is nice I guess", and an offhand comment about how weird it is to see a male musician dressed up like slutty women from terrible mobile game ads.
Living in a post-Marvel world, nothing frustrates me more than the newfound expectation that movies absolutely *must* have mid/end credit scenes, and that all movies will become massive Star-Wars-esque franchises.
I remember a time where you watch a movie, say "Wow! That was a really good movie!", and that was that. Now, the more common sentiment seems to be "Wow! What a good movie! Can't wait to see the sequel, and the TV spin-offs, and the movies that take place at the same time as this one!". Movies aren't allowed to be standalone anymore. Not everything has to be intimately connected.
This goes double for sequels/prequels. Not every good/popular movie needs a dozen movies to flesh out every single minute detail from the original movie. Movies are allowed to have open endings without leading into eighteen more movies to drag the story out for a decade or more.
Also, movies set in the same universe do not have to be directly related to each other in inextricable ways. I will die on the hill that references do not equate to direct links between characters in different movies.
Hi excuse me, I'm just going to leave this here

Israel has worked hard to portray Gaza as a barren wasteland, backwater that is a terrorist stronghold. In reality, Gaza is a beautiful city/region with a rich history that has been decimated from constant bombings and strangled by the blockade. So much of what is being destroyed by Israel are restaurants, bookshops, schools, universities, houses and much of what contributes to life in Gaza and people’s livelihoods. Places that are attached to and filled with the memories of Palestinians in Gaza. It’s not just about making life miserable for the people who live there, but about projecting a particular image of Gaza to the world. This is also similar to how the US has portrayed places like Afghanistan to justify its invasions.

Intro Post
Hey, this is Aven, and this is my new writeblr!! I may have accidentally deleted my old one 😭😭😭.
Pronouns are he/they. I'm a teenage writer focusing on writing YA, since that's what I like to read.
I'm autistic and ADHD, physically disabled, super queer, and even more traumatized, and yes I do make that stuff my whole personality. If you don't like it, then please DNI.
Also I cuss a lot, way more on here than I do IRL.
My ask box and DMs are always open to chat, I'm a lonely little hermit lol. Feel free to tag me in games or challenges!!! If I don't participate it's because I'm out of spoons, not because I don't want to.
A bit more about me:

What I Write
I mostly write YA fantasy and sci-fi. Expect plenty of queer and neurodivergent rep, sibling relationships of all varieties, bad puns, the odd bit of creepy stuff and a lot of heart. I'm especially into mythology retellings, space operas, and exploring trauma and inner character motivations. Not so big on the romance, but I'm getting more into it.
