On one hand I don't like being human instead of canine. There's just so many things that are wrong.

On the other hand I can now eat chocolate and garlic and they taste AMAZING!!!

Anyone else get shifts at about 11 at night? And then you end up like:

Want to play! And run! And chew and hunt!

But then you're too tired so just lie in bed for a while barking and growling and whining quietly so you don't wake everyone else up, but you can't sleep so you chuck all your blankets on the floor and make a dog bed and then you can finally sleep.

I'll find some alterhuman resources for ya!! Starting off with definitions:

DEFINITIONS !!

Alterhumanity- An umbrella term for anyone who identifies fully or partially nonhuman.

Nonhuman- Anything that is not considered human.

Otherkin- Usually used to describe an alterhuman individual who does not identify as a creature from this world.

Fictionkin- An otherkin subterm used to describe an alterhuman individual who may identify with a creature not from this world, or even a character from a series / franchise.

Therian- An individual who identifies as a nonhuman creature from this world.

Otherhearted- A term for an individual who may identify or deeply connect with a creature, thing, or even concept.

Copinglink- A term for an individual who may (or may not) choose to connect with a non-human creature or character as a way of coping.

Otherlink- A term for an individual who may (or may not) choose to connect with a non-human creature or character for reasons other than coping.

Synpath- A term for an individual (under the alterhuman umbrella) that feels a deep emotional connection to a creature, thing, or concept.

Cladotherian- A term for an individual (under the therian umbrella) that may identify as a whole genus or group of the same kind of animal. Ex: "I am an owl cladotherian. I identify as all species / kinds of owl."

Cladokin- A broad term for an individual (under the therian or alterhuman umbrella) that may identify as a whole genus or group of the same kind of nonhuman creature.

Conceptkin- A term for when an individual identifies as / with a concept. Ex: Songs, stars, emotion.

Paleokin / Paleotherian- A term for when an individual identifies as an extinct creature.

Phytan / Plantkin / Phytatherian- A term for when an individual identifies as a plant.

Starseed- A term for when an individual believes they originated from another dimension / reality / world, etc.

Polykin / Polytherian- A term for when an individual (under the alterhuman umbrella) identifies with two or more creatures.

Theriotype- A term for the creature that a therian may be connected to. This is the alternative and therian version of the term kintype.

Kintype- A term for the creature that an otherkin individual may be connected to. This is the alternative and otherkin version of the term theriotype.

Shift- A term for when a therian / otherkin experiences a mental, pseudo-physical, or spiritual change in their behavior / tactile abilities / senses / etc.

Kinshift- A general term for when a therian / otherkin experiences a shift related to their kintype / theriotype.

Kithtype- A term for the creature that an otherhearted individual may connect deeply with. It is the alternative and otherhearted version of the therian theriotype and the otherkin kintype.

Phantom Limbs- A term for an experience that a therian or otherkin individual may have. This references the pseudo-feeling of extra limbs / features added onto your body. This can include, but is not limited to: a tail, ears, wings, horns, paws, nose, etc.

Kinsidering- A term for when a therian or otherkin is questioning their alterhuman identity.

Awakening- A term for the point in time in which an alterhuman became aware of their identity.

Species Dysphoria- A term for the unease and discomfort that being in a human body may give an alterhuman.

Species Euphoria- A term for the excitement and content that being addressed to / acknowledged as their species may give an alterhuman.

Exotrauma- A term for traumatic memories that occurred in a past life.

Exomemories- A term for any memory that occurred in a past life.

Hearthome- A specific location an alterhuman may feel very attached to. This may because of their identity.

Voluntary Shift- A shift (phantom, mental, spiritiual, tactile, etc.) that is induced with intent.

Involuntary Shift- A shift (phantom, mental, spiritual, tactile, etc.) that is not induced with intent.

Nonshifting / Nonshifter- An alterhuman who may not experience most or any kind of shifting.

Gear- A broad term for any sort of attire, accesories, etc. that an alterhuman may wear to feel more connected to their theriotype / kintype.
