the hug takes shoto off guard, and he tenses in his classmates arms before forcing himself to relax. it’s just ojiro, who is honestly one of his classmates that he gets along with best, and he’s wanted to get better at this anyway, allowing touch from those he trusts. but the hug is already over moments after he relaxes, barely giving him time to return the hug, so shoto just tries to give a reassuring smile as the blonde pulls back, wishing him good luck. 

“ thank you, ojiro, i’ll be fine. we’ll meet back here as soon as we’re done. ”  they’ve been through plenty of fights such as this before, much more frequently than they should be exposed to at this point in their hero training, but it was nothing unexpected by now.  “ be careful. “  it’s said as more of an afterthought, but only because he’s not that used to having teammates or friends to wish luck or care to.
