My Problems With Season Four Of The Umbrella Academy. I Will Be Editing This As I Find More.

my problems with season four of the umbrella academy. i will be editing this as i find more.

(MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)

one: five and lila

two: 6 episodes

three: lila and five

four: why did everyone but luther forget abt sloane?

five: did they not create another grandfather paradox at the end there?

six: give ben and jennifer an actual love story not just a parasite (ish) story.

seven: ray walked out on allison and claire? is that what i heard?

eight: the whole five and lila being stuck in the subway for seven years thing

nine: so they popped up in this timeline in 2019. ben got out of prison in episode one. episode one takes place six years after they enter this timeline. everyone refers to it as five years, then it’s said ben was only in prison for four years but was arrested in 2019. what?

ten: why was nobody phased by abigail? (was that her name? they only said it once)

eleven: the phoenix academy? huh?

twelve: if all the marigold had to be destroyed but there were more kids with powers in like every single other timeline were there more in this one too? did they not have to die?

thirteen: why didn’t you give the twins names? they’re just ‘the twins’ all season

fourteen: lila suddenly has family after being raised by the handler?

fifteen: diego saying lila hates bracelets meanwhile in season two he made one and she wore it for the whole season.

sixteen: if allison can have ray AND claire, why can’t luther have sloane, why can’t klaus have dave, why can’t viktor have sissy???!!!!!???

Do you ever start writing something that you’re excited about and that seems like it’s turning out well and that you’re getting eager to share, and then you start typing it up or doing an edit pass and it’s just awful it’s awful its premise is fundamentally flawed and it’s out of character and the prose is clunky and the plot is badly paced and ludicrous and the whole thing is embarrassing, how could you have done this, how could you have sunk so much time into this, you can’t even look at it, how is this that shining thing you were so excited about, how could you even have considered finishing it let alone sharing it with anyone, you’re crying, your mother is crying, nuns are spontaneously exploding in the streets,

Ok so my kid had an ear infection, right? As kids often do.

The doctor scraped out a bit of earwax to have a better look inside.

I was sent a bill for $200 PER EAR for this 5 second procedure which I did not give permission for them to do.

That was key- they did not ASK me if they could do this "procedure". And, as I OWN a medical practice (it's me. The medical practice is me, sitting in my house on video calls) I knew to call them when this bill came in to be like "You did not obtain informed consent for this procedure, and it was not en emergency procedure. You had full ability to gain my consent and didn't. I'm not paying."

And the massive hospital who owned the bill said "yuh-huh you do have to pay."

And I said "I own a practice. I know these laws. I do not owe you money for this."

And they conducted an "internal review" and SURPRISE! Decided I totally owed them money and they had never done anything wrong ever.

And so I called my state's Attorney General office, and explained the situation because, as I mentioned, I know the law. The AG got in touch within a couple days to say they were taking the case and would send the massive hospital conglomerate a knock it off, guys letter.

Lo and Behold, today I have a letter where said hospital graciously has agreed to forfeit the payment.

"How not to get screwed over by companies" should be part of civics class.

Know your rights and know who to call when they're infringed on. This whole process cost me $0 and honestly less effort than I would have expected.

May this knowledge find its way to someone else who can use it.
