Movie 1 - Chapter 1

Calypso's introduction

Walking through the hallways of Forks Highschool was Calypso Smith, a female with long pale red hair that was half up and half down. Her cold and intimidating aura made her one of the most feared people in school. As she walked, she overheard some students whispering about her, but she quickly silenced them with a harsh glare and continued on her way.

However, she couldn't help but notice that she had caught the attention of five individuals - the Cullen's and the Hale's. Despite their curiosity, she walked off and disappeared around a corner.

Silence fell over the hallway before conversation erupted once again. The Cullen's and the Hale's decided to walk away, but the small dark-haired girl named Alice Cullen asked her siblings, "Do you guys know who that was?" She looked up at them, and Emmett Cullen, the muscular guy by her side, answered, "That was Calypso Smith, one of the most feared people in school."

Rosalie Hale, the blond woman next to Emmett, looked at him and asked, "Do you know her or something?" Emmett looked down at her and replied, "We've interacted a few times, but she doesn't like having friends, so we're not friends or anything."

Edward glared at the corner where Calypso had disappeared and whispered, "I couldn't hear her thoughts." The others turned towards him, and Alice asked, "What do you mean?" Edward explained, "I couldn't hear anything from her. When I tried to hear her thoughts, all I heard was ringing, and I don't know why. That's never happened before."

Meanwhile, Calypso entered the school cafeteria and sat down at an empty table. She didn't have much of an appetite and didn't plan on eating. However, she overheard a nearby group talking about the Cullen's and the Hale's, so she decided to listen in on their conversation.

Bella, the new girl, asked Jessica Stanley and Angela Weber, "Who are they?" Calypso despised Jessica, considering her a pick me, but she was somewhat friends with Angela. Jessica and Angela looked at Bella, and Angela answered, "They're the Cullen's. Dr. and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved here from Alaska a few years ago." Jessica nodded in agreement and added, "They keep to themselves."

Jessica then glanced back at the cafeteria door as Rosalie and Emmett entered. She turned her attention back to Bella and said, "Yeah, because they're together, like, together together."

Calypso looked over at Rosalie and Emmett, who noticed her and silently nodded in greeting.

"The blonde girl, Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett, they're like a thing... I'm not even sure that's legal." Jessica told Bella but Angela replied, "Jess, they're not actually related." She told her friend, who looked at her and replied, "Yeah, but they live together. It's weird." Jessica looked back at Bella, "And, okay, the little dark-haired girl's Alice. She's really weird and I think she's with Jasper, the blond one who looks like he's in pain, but nobody really knows if they actually are or not." She explained, chuckling softly as she picked at her food, "Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad/matchmaker."

Angela chuckled, "Maybe he'll adopt me." She joked.

Calypso got bored after a while of hearing the conversion and was about to stand up until she heard the girls talking about her, so she stopped to hear what they had to say.

Bella looked at the two after glancing at Calypso, "What about her?" She asked her friends which Angela replied, "Oh, that's Calypso Smith and people say to stay far away from her as she's 'really scary' but she's been nothing but kind to me." She smiled which Jessica scoffed, "She's mean to everyone else, so just stay away from her, but I heard the Art Teacher is her aunt and she's the exact opposite of her which is good as we never get homework from her but I wonder why Calypso is so rude." Jessica told Bella, who nodded, "Well, maybe she lost a loved one." She muttered quietly which the two nodded, "Maybe but I doubt it." Jessica replied but Angela looked at her, "Jess! You can't say that! You have no idea what she's going through." She told her friend, who rolled her eyes.

Calypso gasped softly but she stood up and grabbed her backpack before leaving the cafeteria, catching the Cullen's and the Hale's eyes.

Alice frowned as she watched her leave, "I'm going to check on her…" She told her siblings and got up and left the cafeteria to look for Calypso.

Calypso was in the Art classroom and was sitting on a stool in front of a canvas and she drawing something on it. Alice walked up behind her and looked at the picture and noticed that it was a realistic white tiger.

"That's beautiful." She told the taller woman which Calypso turned her head and looked at Alice, "Thank you, Alice." She murmured softly and turned back to the painting as Alice brought over another stool and sat beside her.

Calypso continued to paint the white tiger as she said to the smaller woman, "I know what you are, Alice."

Alice looked at Calypso, "I know, I've had visions of you… you befriending us in the future…" She told her before continuing to speak, "I also know that you're a witch, you and Mrs. Smith." She whispered softly which Calypso hummed, "That we are, we are old friends of Carlisle and Esme, we were there when she and Edward were turned but he does not remember us, considering that it was so many years ago."

Alice quietly listened to her and nodded, "May I ask you something?" She asked Calypso, who chuckled, "Go ahead, My Dear."

Alice hesitated for a moment before asking, "Why do people say you're mean and scary?"

Calypso paused her painting and looked at Alice with a sad smile, "People fear what they don't understand, Alice. I may come off as rude or intimidating, but that's just a defense mechanism. I've been through a lot in my life, and it has shaped me into the person I am today. But I promise you, I have a kind heart."

Alice nodded, understanding. "I believe you. And I'm glad I got the chance to know the real you."

Calypso's smile widened, and she went back to her painting. Alice stayed by her side, silently offering her support as they continued their conversation and formed a friendship that would prove to be unbreakable.

After completing her painting, Calypso stood up and put everything away with Alice's help. Calypso thanked her before heading outside to join the rest of the group, carefully carrying her artwork.

Alice guided Calypso towards her siblings, engaging in conversation along the way. "So, are you and Jasper a couple?" Calypso asked, to which Alice giggled and replied, "Oh no, we're not. We see each other as siblings, and he's my favorite brother!" Calypso nodded in understanding, mumbling to herself, "I see..."

Curious, Alice tilted her head and asked, "Why do you ask? Do you have feelings for Jasper?" Calypso blushed and responded, "Oh, well... I suppose I do like him a little. He's quite attractive. But he doesn't know me, and even if he did, he wouldn't be interested in me."

Offering comfort, Alice smiled sadly and said, "Hey, I'm sure he'll develop feelings for you in the future." She rubbed Calypso's shoulder reassuringly. Sensing that Alice knew something, Calypso asked, "You know something, don't you?" Alice nervously chuckled and replied, "I'm not admitting anything." Calypso chuckled as well and remarked, "Figured." They reached Alice's siblings as they continued their conversation.

The Cullen and Hale families turned their attention towards the two females. "Hey, Callie," Emmett greeted, causing Calypso to glance up and offer a friendly smile. "Hello, Emmett," she replied.

Rosalie's gaze turned cold as she looked at Calypso. "Why is she here?" she asked, clearly disapproving of Calypso's presence, as she mistakenly believed her to be a mere human.

Calypso chuckled and communicated with Rosalie telepathically, 'Can a mundane human do this?' She then smiled kindly at the taller woman and addressed the entire group. "Well, I suppose I should clarify why I am here," she said. All eyes were fixed on her. "You see, I was intending to disclose what I truly am—a witch," she whispered, ensuring only the group could hear. "Carlisle, Esme, and Alice are already aware," she added with a soft chuckle.

Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper stared at her in astonishment. Before they could voice their thoughts, Calypso preemptively spoke. "By the way, Edward couldn't read my mind because I've enchanted it with a hex. And, Jasper, my emotions are shielded too," she said, offering a small smile specifically directed at Jasper. He nodded in acknowledgement, remaining silent as he was not much of a talker.
