A DYWTK excerpt for (SFW) Top Alastor Week

Day 3: First Kiss (I know I skipped day 2 I was too indecisive)

From Chapter 9 of Do You Want to Know?

Lucifer lowered his eyes. “I’ve just been worried. That’s all.” Alastor dropped Lucifer’s hand and gently brushed a razor sharp claw across the angel’s cheek. Another thing that always seemed to make the king melt in his hands. “You need to stop being afraid. ” 

Lucifer was silent for a long moment. Finally, he took a deep breath and looked directly into Alastor’s eyes.

“Okay.”

That was all Lucifer said before he slowly closed the small space between them and kissed the radio demon. Alastor didn’t even have a chance to respond, because immediately Lucifer backed up and began to apologize. “Oh shit, sorry, um, sorry! Uhhhh that’s.. Probably not what you meant. Um… I’m sorry.” Lucifer looked terrified. Alastor soaked up the angel’s flustered state for a moment- he really did love seeing him like this- and then pulled him closer to kiss him again. Alastor had never kissed anyone before. He’d never wanted to. But with Lucifer, everything was different. His touch didn’t send waves of anxiety through the radio demon the way others did. It only felt warm and inviting. Alastor gently brushed a few strands of golden hair from Lucifer’s face as he kissed him, noticing for the first time how soft it was. 

Their kiss was interrupted by a loud ‘pop’ that sounded like it came from somewhere in the city. They both turned toward the sound and watched as the lights in the city below became erratic for a moment before going completely black. 

“Um… Did you do that?” Lucifer asked.

“How the fuck would I have done that?” Alastor shot back.

“Hell if I know! You can do all sorts of weird stuff!” Lucifer laughed. Alastor always loved hearing Lucifer laugh. The city’s power started to come back and the two watched in silence as it did. Lucifer finally tucked away his wings and went back to his royal duty of being way too short. After the city was completely lit again, Lucifer asked, “So… Should I still be sorry?”

Alastor’s smile felt genuine when he looked down at the beautiful angel before him. “Hmm. We’ll see. It’s yet to be determined,” he teased. 

“Well, I guess I can accept that. For now.” Lucifer winked at him. “It is gonna be light soon though. I think I might get a little sleep before morning.”

Alastor nodded in agreement. “May I walk you to your room, your majesty?”

Lucifer blushed a bit. “Such a gentleman when you want to be… Of course. I would love the company.”

I don't know what's funnier: the fact that demons apparently only have a very vague understanding of what goats are despite how heavily associated they are with satanic rituals and Imps even sharing traits with them (horns and hooves), or the fact that, in spite of that, the slang term still managed to make its way to Hell.

Lucifer, on negative hours of sleep and three gallons of depression: You could. I mean, you can't because I'm Lucifer, but technically you could cuz I am not dead. Like you. You're dead, you can't die die.

Alastor:... What?

Lucifer: Though, I'm an angel, a being of energy, so technically I ain't neither dead nor alive since we don't follow the definition of "living" humans do– but, then again, you are also a being of energy, because you're dead but not dead dead, your soul is still here and you're conscious and therefore technically alive, meaning we're both alive but not alive alive and so we can't die die—

Alastor:... Charlotte, come get your father, he's starting to philosophy and I think I am genuinely scared for the first time in my life—

Lucifer: Not life life—!

Okay I need to get something off my chest

I think Alastor would be really touchy if he was in a relationship with someone YES even in public

I'm not saying he's making out with them in public because he definitely would not do that he's a gentleman BUT he'd always be touching who ever he's with

He's possessive, if something is his he'll make sure everyone knows it because they're HIS and he doesn't share

And he doesn't do this because they think they'll leave him, no, he's got the biggest ego this side of the pentagram so he thinks he's the best the person he's with is ever going to get

It's more of a power play than anything, he's daring other people to even try to take what's his

So yeah I just think he's very touchy, always standing so close their entire bodies are pressed together or if the person he's with is talking to someone he doesn't like he's not above pulling the other person on his lap or sitting in theirs

I'm so sorry but I need to live my truth
