So True. It Helps A Lot To Know We All Are In Some Ways Same.
So true. It helps a lot to know we all are in some ways same.
when jenny slate said “many times my own life has been enhanced or even saved by other people who have shown their sorrow in a beautiful and digestible way”

The word for goodness (ihsan) has the same root as the word for beauty (husn) in Islamic tradition. The muhsin, therefore, is not only a doer of good, but also someone who brings about beauty through whatever he or she does, someone who makes the world around him or her a more beautiful place — a sentiment also brought out by the famous saying of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ wherein he noted: "God is beautiful and He loves beauty..."
Interestingly enough, one of the 99 attributes of God in Islam is al-Jamīl (The Most Beautiful.)
I love this ayah (verse) because it reminds me that human endeavours in this world aren't fruitless. If you work goodness, you'll find its reward with Allah. But also that the beauty we create in this life, is the beauty we'll find in the next one — implied perhaps, in the linguistic link between beauty and goodness, all captured in the question that this verse asks: will the reward of ihsan be anything but ihsan?

When that familiar ache of loneliness hits you, remind yourself that someone out there is praying for you, for your health, for your happiness and your goodness. Someone is smiling because of you, someone is healing because of you, someone is living because of you. Although we think the impact we leave on people is nothing but fleeting, it isn’t. It’s much greater. We could be the light that they had always prayed for. We could be the blessing that they had yearned for, we could be the lesson that taught them values. Whatever it is. Remember; that someone, who won’t even cross our mind is out there, praying that we are blessed and happy. And perhaps then the world might not seem to cruel and lonely anymore.

Stop convincing yourself you’re wasting your life away. The time you’ve spent resting and healing was and is necessary. You’re not a waste of a person if you find yourself struggling right now. Healing, recovering, sitting with your pain is foundational. It’s not a waste. You are still whole.
