My Grandmother Is A Christian Conservative Who Is One Of Ten Children, And Became A Live-in Maid At The
My grandmother is a Christian Conservative who is one of ten children, and became a live-in maid at the age of 14 so that she could keep paying the school fees to finish high school. I think about that a lot.
Not trying to go on a rant (and yet already ranting) but I’m sick of people faking that “granddaughters of the witches you couldn’t burn” isn’t an AWESOME feminist catchphrase, and branding it as white feminism because “Karen your granny is a christian conservative” like yesss it’s true my granny is a christian conservative but she also secretly had her tubes tied in an illegal clinic because my grandpa was against birth control, and my great-grandma ran away from home at 15 because her parents were against interracial marriage, and my great-great-grandma fled her country because there were no job opportunities for poor women there, and my other grandma also fled her country because her boyfriend tried to force her to have an abortion and she wanted to have her baby, and my mom never married and chose to raise a child on her own, and I am a feminist butch lesbian, and this is what this quote is about, it’s not about your granny being pagan, it’s about valuing your matrilineal lineage of subversive women, even if their subversion was minimal, because they could have been killed or maimed any time by men for not conforming to gender roles even in the slightest way, after all, the witches who indeed were burned were more often than not also just regular, mostly christian conservative, women that somehow pissed off a man

I wish we had women only cities. And before you call me out and say that gender segregation isn't the long-term answer to dealing with men, consider instead the long-term positive effects a place like this could have for the women who lived there.
An entire city with apartments and houses and gyms and schools and outdoor spaces which are all only for women. Victims of domestic violence and sexual assault could have a place to heal. Every woman could go to the gym without being harassed. All of the stores would be women-run companies with ethical supply chains. We could have a ban on beauty advertisements (which isn't to say there would be a complete lack of things like hair salons or makeup being sold, just that there would be no models on billboards or on posters in public places imposing an unrealistic ideal). We could have clinics and hospitals with all female staff.
And we could create all the things we like about the rest of the world but take away the misogynistic parts so that we could truly enjoy them. For example:
-we could create Anime and films that don't sexualize every female character.
-we could have bars and clubs for dancing where people could wear what they want and no one would ever get groped or hit on while trying to have fun with friends
-we could recreate so many aspects of healthcare but in far more efficient ways that cut out the capitalist gains and the bias against women and instead focus on actual health issues
I think about this all the time and I just think it would be a wonderful place.
ISTG, nurses are the only reason there is any accountability in healthcare.
![Brazilian Anaesthetist Filmed Putting His Penis in Pregnant Woman's Mouth After Heavily Sedating Her During C-Section [VIDEO]](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4db8da126afd9bdb98c81536caa4b60a/f1b920a869e9ef71-33/s1280x1920/f3193eced28cc280b1d3f625f84343702d260213.png)
This is so vile.

in the latest cyber-news: the internet archive has lost their case against 4 major publishing houses (verge article). they’re going to appeal, but this is still a bad outcome. the fate of the internet is currently hanging in the balance because 4 multibillionare publishing groups missed out on like $15 of combined revenue during the pandemic because of the archive’s online library service. it’s so fucking stupid.
for those who don’t know what the internet archive is, it’s a virtual library full of media. books, magazines, recordings, visuals, flash games, websites - a lot of these things either don’t exist anymore or cannot be found & bought. heard of the wayback machine? that’s part of the internet archive. it is the most important website to exist, and i don’t say that lightly. if the internet archive goes down, the cultural loss will be immeasurable.
so how can you help?
boycott the publishing companies involved in this. they’re absolute ghouls, frankly, and don’t deserve a penny. the companies involved are harpercollins (imprints), wiley (imprints), penguin random house llc (imprints), and hachette book group (imprints). make sure the websites are set to your location as it may differ worldwide.
learn to torrent. download a torrent client (i recommend transmission), a vpn (i recommend protonvpn - sign up and choose the area that’s closest to your continent/country), and hit up /r/piracy on reddit for websites. with torrenting, you can get (almost) any media you want for free in high quality, with add-ons such as subtitles, and with no risks of loss. i would also recommend getting into the habit of watching stuff online for free. the less you can pay to a giant corporation, the better.
get into the habit of downloading and archiving materials. find a TB external hard drive, ideally the higher the better. it’ll probably cost around $60 for 1TB and continue to go up, but they’re so so useful. if you can’t afford a drive, look for any GB harddrives or memory sticks you have lying around and just fill them up. videos, pdfs, magazines, songs, movies, games - anything you can rip and download and fit on there, do it, because nothing is permanent.
donate to the internet archive. this is the most important option on the list. the IA relies entirely on funding, and it’s going to need more to fight this case. whatever you can donate, do it. i promise it’s helpful.
and finally…

It really is sad. I found someone recently who I've been talking to, and he has a psych degree like me. He completely understands and agrees with all of my arguments about being anti-sex work, anti-pornography, and why gender ideology is harmful. And not just agree, but he has meaningful conversations about those topics and discusses peer reviewed research with me. And I was so shocked to find a man like this exists. That's how low the bar is. If you are a man who respects women and understand how sexual industries further oppress them, you are already a huge outlier.
