I’m not here to teach (or educate) anything to anyone but only as a reminder about the benefits of nature which, has its own limits. Wilderness cleans our air, filters our water and provides home for human as well as for wildlife. So it is crucial for humanity, which is already to blame, to bring radical changes today before it’s entire extinction tomorrow. That is my only intention here folks. #RavenScent
You know Ravens have a distinguished particular odor like dogs have, which everyone enjoy so much; so…
During the nesting period, Diane has to leave us for about 5 weeks and Jack, her life partner, has to provide her with all the food that she needs while incubating the eggs.
I love them both but Diane is the first one I’ve meet and the bond between us is strong. During that period I really miss her.
So what I do is just open this big jar, which is full of their body feathers, which I’ve picked up from time to time, and take a big smell out of it.
And if you have no idea what the smell of a Raven is? Well it’s like an amazing “méchoui” roasted outside over a wood fire; or like some kind of aromatic incense fragrance smoked like “Nuit d'Opium”.
#CoywolfTracks
Some stabbing yip-howls have been heard from the darkness after 3am this morning. And today a couple of tracks like these were found near the house.
These guys are particularly vocal when they're hungry and looking for something to eat as for this time of the year food is getting scarce for wildlife.
Dogs wanted to go out looking for them but for me it is a solid no. Coywolves, who roams the valley here, always hunt in small pack of three. They are extremely vicious and now able to drag down a dear in less then 10sec.
