… preservation is crucial for maintaining the balance of our natural world. It includes benefits such as flood control, water filtration, and carbon sequestration which help regulate the effects of climate change, and contribute to human well-being and mental health.

#OutsideTheHouseForYears
In the Northern Hemisphere, Ravens have accompanied people around here for centuries.
Spirit animals associated with life mysteries, magic, death, and the netherworld; they’re making their presence known in the Grand Valley night and day, with their croaks.
Outside the house for years; they are gathering around here in large communal roosts, numbering between 200 to 400 of individuals, during our Winter breeding months.
Symbolizing communication from the Gods, divination of the future and the Goddess of war and death, Morrigan; they are well known for their intelligence and way smarter than we think. They are the smartest birds of all.

#Turkey Buzzard
This Buzzard has been hovering the edge for like 30 minutes in front of us while we were having lunch at aprx. 1800 feet high… so clearly he wasn't looking for a carcasse but more to keep an eye on us, I would say. And I know well, there is a very old cave just underneath us, like a 100 feet below and these guys will frequently use caves for their nesting periods. So I wouldn't be surprise that our friend presently here uses that cave.

#AncientWisdom
This video of a Raven, a symbol of Ancient Wisdom, feeding on roadkill carries a profound metaphorical significance. In Ancient Wisdom, Ravens often represented messengers and keepers of hidden knowledge. They were believed to possess insights into the mysterious and unseen aspects of life. Roadkill, on the other hand, symbolizes the unfortunate consequences of life's unpredictable twists.
When combined, this video illustrates a powerful lesson: Wisdom can emerge from the most unexpected and challenging circumstances. Just as the Raven, a creature associated with foresight, finds sustenance in the remains of tragedy, humans can extract valuable insights from their own setbacks and losses.
This symbol encourages us to look beyond the surface, to search for meaning in the most unlikely places. It reminds us that Wisdom is not exclusive to the privileged or the fortunate; it can arise from adversity. The Raven's act of dining on roadkill underscores the notion that, in the cycle of life, we can turn even the most difficult experiences into opportunities for growth and understanding.

Wild and Totally Reclusive…
It is a weird feeling not having birds around the house. Especially with no dog now because I had to let go of Basco. I haven't seen Jack and Diane for at least 5 days… and I realized why yesterday. Young Diane must get away from the valley. It's getting late in the season now; it is almost Halloween. Jack and Diane have been hiding themselves lightly outside/around the valley from Young Diane to make her understand that is time for her to move on and not depend anymore on her parents to survive but on her own. And she has been very loud since 2 days, throwing some distress calls all around the house… I saw her yesterday yelling while flying around the valley; hoovering mountains searching desperatly for them. Then later at the end of the afternoon, Jack or Diane appeared nearly at 500 feet from the back of the house, making some little nose to sooth her distress calls… like having some sort of pity for her. It is not the first year that I see that sort of scenario and each time it breaks my heart. And suddenly I didn't hear anymore cries for the rest of the day. They probably have, the 3 of them, spent the entire night together.
Animal life can sometimes be so fucking cruel; by any means, you know. But it is part of their teaching… and will always be.
