 He's only stable enough to look humanoid for a couple of seconds if something very strong manages to rip that off of him. The masks (and other subsequent pieces) of the guys like him are nottt made to come off, but can ‘unlock’ on command of a handler. For those situations when you need something scarier than what the look like already. Masks are objects referred too as “artifact organs” and are created from the bones of very big, very scary things. They kind of just become a part of their bodies.

Many times a week I find new reasons to get mad at twitter   Yahoo why did you have to scare half the population away to that hellsite it’s format is literally the worst Its like...would you prefer tumblrs loss of quality for too small images and stretching, OR instead how about horrible crops that only show awkward previews of your work, or notifications for conversations you aren’t a part of! Or a timeline that ACTIVELY SWITCHES OFF of a mode you DELIBERATELY chose (chronological vs ‘most popular’)
