Whenever I see people discoursing online about how all fiction must model good behavior and explicitly state that any bad behavior depicted is wrong, lest someone in the audience mistake it for “glorifying,” all I can think of is that line from Arrested Development where Buster, in his mid-30s, objects to something by saying “that’s not the way mother is raising me”

man fuck explaining my disorder in detail to other people like if you tell people you have an identity disorder they shouldnt question any sudden changes in behavior/personality/whatever. idk why DID systems get constantly pushed into this box of like "give out information about all your alters else people will doubt whether youre a real system and think youre faking" like WTF. you dont have to explain SHIT to ANYONE you dont need to name every alter you have you dont have to explain or justify nothing just exist in your own way and be you and if anyone questions why youre different you can say you have DID and end it at that

Amento is a wooden doll druid and the newest addition to my growing army of non-living characters. 🌱✨ He’s a shy and kind boy who doesn’t remember anything about his past. Amento’s first proper memory is being rescued from a swamp by an old druid called Vladislava, who became his teacher and druidic master, teaching him the most important thing: “everything is alive”.

A year later Vladislava disappeared leaving behind only her hat, cape and mysterious letter. Unfortunately Amento doesn’t know how to read, so he collected her clothes and decided to find someone who could help him to read the letter.

I play Amento in a Curse of Strahd campaign that we started couple months ago and I’ve been having a blast! We decided with the DM that she will write his backstory and I don’t know what’s going on more than Amento does - so it has been quite thrilling trying to figure out where he came from and why.
