Half of this borders on their s/o needing to adjust to affection, and it goes onto affection a little bit. If you wanted more affectionate headcanons/preferences I will happily write more affection stuff. I hope you enjoy!!

Gandhi...

Even as friends, Gandhi is quite a touchy, even if it’s just high fives or one-off excitement hugs.

The more he likes you the more physical contact he’s likely to accidentally initiate. Unless you really don’t like being touched, he just can’t help it.

Bonus: He probably “drops hints” by subconsciously touching you. He may grab your shoulder, push you away in mock shock or even climb on you like he does with Abe, depending on your reactions (bonus bonus if you’re taller than him).

Gandhi would actually be really understanding- when the school found out he had ADD people avoided touching him, so he uses that point in his life as a crutch to understand.

So when you’re going out, he does his best, whether you’re super affectionate or a bit withdrawn.

I imagine physical touch is probably his love language, over everything else. You may have to talk to him about how much he touches you if he does it too much too quick.

He won’t really realize he’s touching you half the time, in school or not.

He’s definitely a hugger, but any actions that take less time are ideal because, or so he says, that way he can show more affection.

In general, if you go out of your way to touch him, or are really affectionate with him, he is completely infatuated.

If it takes you ages to build-up to that or not, he thinks it’s 100% worth it.

He would one hundred percent soak up any affection you give him, no matter how much that is.

Van Gogh...

Van Gogh is not a physically affectionate friend, if he likes you he’ll talk to you, and he’s not a physically demanding s/o. Of course, he likes affection but would rather his s/o be understanding than affectionate.

You see, Vincent understands more than anyone else.

He’s also very touch-starved. He probably hasn’t had a hug in like, five years.

Van Gogh revels in any affection.

but he’s incredibly patient and laid-back. He just wants you to be happy with him. If you need time to adjust, he understands. If you don’t, that’s also good by him.

Chances are, he will ask before doing anything, regardless; even just holding your hand.

So you can move at your own pace, really. You will have to make most of the first moves, in fact. He’s too nervous.

If you are very affectionate, please hold him. He wouldn’t ever say it, but being held by you makes him very very happy. Hugs, cuddling, the lot.

Maybe not in public. The poor guy will practically shut down.

If you want to, he won’t stop you. But you’re dealing with a flustered boyfriend for the next 5-10 minutes. Just not at an inappropriate time, please.

I’d say that Van Gogh’s love language is quality time, but super closely followed by physical touch. He loves to hang around after school, or at lunch, and values time spent with you more than the occasional hugs.

He also wouldn’t mind it if his s/o is super affectionate. You want to hold his hand under or across the lunch table? Of course! You want to watch movies and cuddle? Hell yes! Did he say something cute and you cupped his cheeks as some sort of reflex? He’s goop now. 

Just reassure him that he can be affectionate to you back. Please.
