Don't You Just Love It When *insert Relatable Character* Does Something That You Wish You Could But Unfortunately
Don't you just love it when *insert relatable character* does something that you wish you could but unfortunately *insert shitty real life thing* gets in your way?
That COULD be you, but not in this lifetime.
(This applies equally to not having enough money to do things because shitty capitalism, and also not being able to customise yourself with cat ears because shitty biology)

Its so funny to me that the general opinion of Lucifer and Lilith pre show was just "yeah she pegs him and he is so down bad for her it hurts" then the show comes out and not only are they divorced but now people are theorising that Al is trying to undermine Lucifer so hard as a dad because Lilith told him to? (I NEED to know what this man did to deserve that)
This may be one of the biggest theory vs reality differences I've seen for characters ever. Was looking at old fanart and comics of them earlier and my lord did we get it so incredibly wrong.
I dont doubt some people got it right, but most of what I used to see 'back in the day' was them being somewhat deranged but still happily married.
The parallel between " it starts with sorry" and "loser, baby" are sending me.
In the context of the recipients or intended audience of the songs, the former shows how Sir Pentious is just kind of a bitch, and does things for his own gain without regard for others in order to gain power (his poor face when Vox didn't approve of him :( ). The later is of course bringing attention to that, while yes Angel is in an unbelievably shit position, he makes it worse with his self loathing and poor coping mechanisms, it's even suggested that he stops seeing himself as a person outside of Valentino. Therefore "loser, baby" is more focused on Angel as an individual rather than the people around him.
Then, when thinking about the people who actually lead the song, Charlie tries to be selfless to a fault so obviously her trying to cheer up snakey boy is going to be through having him be better to others, but it also shows how her ideas of redemption still come from a place of misunderstanding, not really taking in the depth of him as a person and instead singing about what he can DO rather than helping him THINK better. On the opposite side Husk speaks from a place of experience (vastly different experience, but still able to better empathise) and not only comprehends but deeply understands the fact that Angel needs to be better in himself before he can be better in the eyes of others. Despite the fact that it probably wasn't his aim, Husk has probably set up Angel for a better shot at actual redemption through understanding. Husk also does not sugar coat anything, at all. He knows that it's better to be straight up about things because having to act ALL THE TIME is the problem for Angel. Its very difficult for Charlie to get her optimism across to Angel because delusion only lasts for so long. Pentious is more gullible and hasn't signed his soul away ( to my knowledge) and so is able to look on the bright side and respond to overly positive actions. Husk has the capability to help Angel, not by saying "things arnet really that shit, it will be better" but instead says that "yeah this sucks but it'll help if you just accept what you cant change and take what you can. You can't accept joy if you only self-pity/ drown in drugs and fakeness".
"It starts with sorry" was kind of cringe to me too but honestly? It fits, and that's what matters.
Sidenote: I'd love to discuss/ be tagged in other analysis, including anything critical. But I'm not looking for a fight and I'm not getting into anything with anybody who take the songs out of context. (AKA : "Husk is calling Angel a loser because he got SA'd and thinks he should just get over it/ deserved it" Husk is not that kinda guy)
I'm sure we all love how happy Emily is in this scene.

But is that look on Sera shock at the fact that redemption is possible? Confusion as to how, why of all times to be during an extermination? Or is it disgust at herself for not considering it properly before allowing the extermination to happen in the first place. They've been going on for thousands of years, the anger and pain of all those souls behind her eyes at the man standing before her. The blood on her hands, not just of the demons but also the exterminators finally showing through as not a necessary evil, but a choice.
Sera in S2 is probably one of the individual character plots that I'm most exited about because holy shit.
Hazbin Hotel opinion question: do you think Lute being captured at the end of episode 8 instead of retreating would be an interesting AU?
I ABSOLUTELY DO.
It hadn't even crossed my mind but wowww that opens up so much.
She'd obviously be super pissy about it and, I reckon she'd make some decent escape attempts (if its lucifer's magic holding her back though there's no chance).
The metaphorical removal of her wings by capturing her plays so nicely into her paralleling Vaggie. I reckon after she calms down a bit Charlie would probably pity her enough to try and help her, like with Vaggie.
From there you could branch off into Lute tricking Charlie in order to escape. Lute tricking Charlie but staying in hell, biding her time to betray them during an extermination or Lute playing an even longer game.
Lute could also genuinely become a better person (I think that would take even more effort than making Adam a good person but hey, anythings possible) then get sent back up to heaven not even by her own will but just because she's been 'redeemed'. I say that lightly because I'm taking it by being captured you mean there's no point at which she actually falls, but Lute isn't exactly the poster child of Heaven so despite not falling, there's still room to improve.
Lute could also opt to ignore Charlie/ try to antagonise from inside whatever cell she's in. There could be a constant theme of Charlie being nothing but kind and and Lute refusing to give in. (What's that? The sin of Pride?)
You could even have Lute being completely antagonistic to Charlie and Vaggie but its one of the sinners that help her, she's not used to being put in her place so somebody that does that and responds to her firmly? (From here I'd probably make that Angel given her insulting rant about him in heaven, but it could reasonably be others).
I'm sure there's a million other ways this could be handled but to me the most important thing to get down would be the character dynamics. Vaggie and Lute clearly have a rocky past even before she tore her wings off, but having Vaggie feel sorry for Lute rather than be angry could show how she's grown as a person ect. Charlie could end up in conflict with herself between wanting to help and wanting justice (a solid way to explore her morals). I'm sure Alastor would be having the time of his life watching an angel be so pathetic.
Lucifer is a whole other bag but whatever it'd be would certainly have to play into both his heaven based trauma and his desire to protect.
Though, all of this assumes she's captured by the hotel crew and not some other ill meaning overlords, I mean, imagine how much you could sell an Angel for. (With that though I reckon unless it was someone quite high up the power ladder that she'd just escape and kill them.)
Ty for the ask!!!! This got rambly but in short, yeah an AU like that has so many possibilities that I dont think you could go wrong. I'd enjoy reading any one of the hypotheticals I've mentioned, or others since I've certainly not covered everything. =)
Truly I no longer know what to believe about Lilith and Eve, who is in what scene and if they've switched places. Which one of them, if either, maybe both are antagonists. I'm waiting for someone with more spare time than me to create a massive essay on all the appearances/ mentions of them so please somebody tag me when that exists.
Not the plot point im most interested about but definitely the one I can see going in the weirdest/ plot twist direction. Lucifers comments to Adam immediately raised flags for me as did the seemingly wholesome photos of the Morningstars.
