The charm is in placing different character archetypes together. Shrews and Long Patrol hares aren't rare but a lone hare with the Guosim is refreshing, just like a thief and a badger lord. 

Thank God it doesn't spend a ton of time at Redwall in the first 3rd. That annoys me in later books. 

I remembered, of all things, the plugs and dips. 

It's hard to be enthusiastic about a new concept like Tabura knowing it wouldn't come back even if he hadn't died. It's a great concept though.

I like to think Rangval is part of the Reguba line of squirrels from Marlfox. 

This is really short because....it's really enjoyable! I'm so surprised! I was wary for the first 3 chapters but it keeps things fresh and makes tweaks in the material that make sense. This and Loamhedge were pleasant surprises!

They were very brave! They poked their nose out once before I could get my camera out, and I just happened to be looking in their direction to see their little face. They ran out further and further until they crossed the whole sidewalk and didn't turn back ☺️ smart creature~
