Cruising through my portfolio and still really proud of these illustrations I created for the TTRPG Primrose. The Redwall aesthetic was real!

As the smallest diving mammal hunting for this water shrew lasts only a few seconds, but their technique underwater is remarkable. Their eyesight is poor so they rely on foraging along the bottom to find movement with their long whiskers. To find stealthier prey they have the rare ability to smell underwater. By blowing tiny bubbles of air they can detect scent particles in the water. Nature on PBS

Something that’s absolutely spectacular about the Redwall books is that not once does any of the fat creatures say or even think they should lose weight.

Occasionally their will be a slender squirrel maid who watches what she eats but the fat characters just exist in their bodies and it’s beautiful
