okay, but what was Tom Stoppard actually thinking when he wrote r&gad?? and why is it so funny? like i’ve been walking around all day today just muttering “consistency is all i ask, give us this day our daily mask” cause i can’t stop thinking about it??

Interesting is that dramatist W.S. Gilbert who wrote "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern" (1874) and shipped Rosencrantz and Ophelia died while attempting to rescue a young woman from drowning.
