A Therianthropy Rant (The harsh truth for tiktok therians)

Holy shit, three posts in a row past 9 PM? What's wrong with you Sin? Anyways, to all the tiktok therians.

Quads, masks, any gear whatsoever, and calling yourself a therian DONT MAKE YOU A THERIAN! Therianthropy is an identity. An involuntary identity where you are an animal on a nonphysical, spiritual or psychological level. If you say "Oh yeah for my theriotype I CHOSE a leopard gecko" THATS NOT BEING A THERIAN. You do not choose. Literally, unless you have that psychological or spiritual identity you are not one. Also, research your stuff before identifying as it. Do not just see a video on tiktok/YT shorts/any social media/ AND SAY "Oh that's cool! I wanna be that!" Because no, being a therian isn't fun, dysphoria isn't fun, shifts aren't always fun, not being accepted is miserable, no one understanding is also miserable. Before you call yourself something actually understand what it means. I've only identified as a therian for a few months, and before that I spent well over a month doing nonstop research AND I STILL DONT KNOW EVERYTHING! That's why I asked 100+ what they'd like to see represented in the community more, so I could learn and teach people what's the truth and what's lies! Just calling yourself a therian, or doing quads, or wearing gear, does not make you one. Please understand this. Do your proper research before ever identifying as something or making claims about something. (Trust me, I've had multiple angry people in this journey of mine) and it's seriously not cool to spread misinformation. And if you struggle with putting a label on yourself, leave it at that! Just say you identify as whatever, you don't need to fit the criteria for anything.
