The thunder scared Regulus. There were too many things that the thunder reminded Regulus of. And James knew this. 

A storm was raging outside and Regulus was lying down in bed, curled in the covers. They smelled like him and James. James was making tea in the kitchen, and was warming up some of the leftover orange muffins he had made today for breakfast. 

A record is playing faintly in the bedroom, sending out warm noises. James walks in with a smile on his face, and his eyes visibly brighten when he sees Reg curled in bed like a burrito. “Tea and muffins dear,” he says softly, handing them to Regulus. 

Regulus takes a sip of tea and his face scrunches up a bit. It is not at all like his tea, Regulus thinks. 

“No need to make that face Reggie, I know it’s not your tea, but it's drinkable thank you very much.” James says, laughing. 

Regulus curses himself for making a face, because the last thing he wanted was to make James feel bad. “It’s fine really, sorry James. I’m just used to mine.” 

James smiles, taking a bite of his muffin. He sets the rest of it on the nightstand, coming up to snuggle Regulus. His fingers card through Reggies dark locks, brushing them out. Regulus melts into James at the touch, his back against James’ stomach. 

A sudden crash of thunder has Regulus closing his eyes and James feels Regulus tense next to him. “Love it’s ok, it’s alright. Just thunder, nothing more.” He says, placating him. “Just thunder love.” 

Hands come to soothe around and over Regulus’ body, through his hair, rubbing his chest and down his arms. It grounds him, feeling James touch. He focuses on the callouses on James hands, the hum of the record still on, the warm blankets over him. It helps a lot. 

“I got you, I got you,” James is saying. “I won’t let you go, I’m not gonna let you drown in this ok?” 

“Goodnight James.” It’s only 7pm, but Regulus is drained from the day. And he knows he’ll sleep well in James' arms tonight. 

“Goodnight love,” James says, kissing the back of head.

Jason on karaoke night singing "What I know now" from the Beetlejuice musical at the top of his lungs. It's not even off-key (because he's memorized the melody) but Bruce has stopped breathing somewhere between "I wouldn't have had my little accident" and "see a shrink, call a priest, ask the recently deceased". Jason joyfully shouts "I exploded!" and Dick's face turns to shrimp colour. Duke is laughing his ass off

(bonus if Steph is singing the parts of the ensemble)

Edit: Since people are misunderstanding my comment on queerbaiting, I'm not saying crew members who shipped Klance are individually or personally responsible for the queerbaiting of Klance, I'm saying that this makes it more glaringly obvious that one can't deny that queerbaiting happened with Klance due to its prominent shipping by artists on the show, as well as the fact that the official art of it made fans even more expectant that it would be canon and I do not doubt that the crew members who made ship art of it were used to further queerbait even though they simply wanted to ship Klance and also wanted it to be canon.
