Mikey loves coffee, but has to limit himself to one or two cups, because anymore and he’ll get dizzy and shaky. He says his brain feels like it’s vibrating.

It also messes with his sleeping pattern, and gives him bad nighttime anxiety.

Raph will monitor Mikey’s caffeine intake and cut him off after two cups.

Raph’s room has become the safe place on bad nights. Leo started sleeping with him after his nightmares got really bad.

Raph doesn’t mind at all. He’s very good not to complain when all his brothers pile on his bed and an elbow or knee jabs him.

He’s happy to let them take over his room if it gives them comfort.

Donnie used to sleep with Leo while he was healing from his injuries.

Leo felt terrible when his nightmares got so bad they couldn’t share a bed without Raph there.

After Leo hit both Mikey and Donnie in his sleep, Splinter declared that he couldn’t sleep with them unless he or Raph was there.

Mikey and Donnie know it’s not Leo’s fault that he gets violent in his sleep, but that doesn’t stop him from feeling bad.

April, however, can handle him the best. They fell asleep on the couch once, and Leo lashed out in his sleep, and April held him down (without hurting him) until he woke up.

She always manages to escape incidents like that unscathed.

Raph’s totally not jealous.

Casey feels horrible about telling Leo that his family died in the alternate future, especially after seeing what it’s done to him. (I have to head canon away all the problems I have with that child)

When Raph found out what Casey did, he lectured him for an hour.

He still won’t leave Casey alone with Leo.

April finally rescued Casey from Raph’s ranting and gently explained to him that Leo’s nightmares were bad and getting worse, and Casey being reckless with his words contributed to it.

Casey cried after hearing that.

He apologized a zillion times.

Leo has to forgive him for it every day.

April had a start when she heard a noise echoing through the lair. Blinking wide eyes, she turned to the shell in her lap, whispering to it. "Did you hear that?"

From within the shell, Donnie mumbled something sleepily. his long snoot moving a little.

April took that as a no.

She shifted the shell off her lap, quickly piling her blanket on top and wrapping it around the shell. Her quick effort worked as Donnie made no move to get out and reach for, content in the blanket her body warmed, smelling like her.

April stood, hands coming to grasp her hips, looking at the lair pointedly.

Something was here, and she was going to find out what.

No one was going to disturb these sleepy turtles.

Grabbing a bo staff that Splinter planned for Donnie, she hurried to the entrance, leapt forward and dropped into a position she's seen Lou Jitsu do, ready to fight. Only empty air greeted her, the faint drip of water echoing through the sewers.

April frowned, straightening and squinting at the darkness. She thought she heard something...

The noise returned and she turned back to the lair.

So, it was coming from within.

She hurried to Raph's room, and saw the spiny shell amongst the pillows and plushies. A deep rumble was coming from within, but not the sound she heard.

She went to Mikey's room to peek in, finding he had rolled himself into a blanket ball in his sleep. There were muffled mumbles from the wadded ball, but not the noise she was seeking.

That left Leo's room.

She leaned in and found that yes, this was the noise she heard.

Leo had rolled himself off his bed, away from his blankets and pillows, sluggishly kicking out and grunting and groaning.

April immediately recognized this as a nightmare.

"Leo," she whisper-shouted, rushing to him to lightly tap his arm. His eyes opened and he blinked a couple of times, sniffing loudly. Groggy dark eyes looked up, seeing April above.

"Apes..." he mumbled.

"You were having a nightmare," she whispered, pulling him up, bracing as he slouched against her.

Leo nuzzled her, humming. "Mmm... warm."

She eyed his bed, seeing the mess Leo left it in his nightmare. "Do you want to be back in your bed? Or do you want to join me and Donnie in front of the TV?"

Leo breathed out, eyeing his bed while half asleep. A slight frown curled on his snout, recalling his nightmare. He turned into her shoulder, mumbling, "You."

"Ok."

Adjusting her grip on Leo so she was semi holding him, she dragged the slumping turtle with her back to the TV, finding Donnie hadn't moved at all. With one hand, she tugged the blanket up, shuffled her and Leo down, and just as Donnie was starting to arise in protest to his loss of blanket, she pulled the softshell back into her lap and he settled back down.

Until Leo shoved his foot in Donnie's face.

April quickly moved Leo's foot away as Donnie moved to snap at him.

Leo snickered sleepily as April turned him away from his twin, letting him slouch against her, making sure the blanket was covering him.

Pulling Donnie a little closer, she sighed as both turtles settled back down, nice and comfy.
