Constantly Moving Cycle Theory (Bendy)
Constantly moving cycle theory (Bendy)
Here’s a Bendy theory. There’s something I wonder about a lot about the ink realm/cycle, which is its deterioration that spans across the games. In batim, the cycle was straightforward. Think a film reel constantly playing. It just kept looping, that was it. No one can break apart from the script (well I guess except the weird mysterious yellow messages that still has an ambiguous meaning). In batdr, Wilson can forcefully hop dimensions, stop it, mess with it etc etc, and by the end of it, when Audrey receives the book, she outright said that the cycle is leaking into the real world. So, say there’s like, a space between the cycle and the real world. And from the looks of it, a hole is gradually opening in between them.
Why? How? It definitely kickstarted from when Wilson began to hop dimensions, or at least after batim’s (god knows how many)’th cycle.
What if the Cycle was supposed to remain a cycle?
The Cycle runs on its own rules, what if one of them is that [it must be stimulating]. If we take Joey’s creation of the cycle in FTB as a reference for canon, he built this world like some mind-fucking hellscape memory lane, and the cycle idea was added later. All in all, he was going to add some kind of script to it later. The ink world operates that way, a story that starts, and ends, and starts again, with a definite storyline and script. But when someone deters off that script, stops time from moving forward, everything becomes stagnant, and begins to crumble. Maybe it’s built like something that should always be used/moving, and if it doesn’t, it’ll speed up the deterioration process. Maybe, it’s like a record that’s always meant to be playing, and if it stops, it’ll begin to break apart. That’ll add an interesting stake to Audrey. That trying to make the cycle better for everyone comes at a price— which is the ink world slowly eating into the real world. She needs to pick between keeping everyone inside or bringing everything out, including the horrors the real world may not be able to handle.

LOTM progress
I got to the Qilangos assassination plan-grand ball arc and as I was thinking about how this very haphazard attack plan that half relied on luck and half relied on broken telephone communication was the one that succeeded among all the government agents because “if you don’t know what tf you are doing, the enemy doesn’t either”
And the reactions of people who was involved in it were just
“Oh cool anyways flesh glove” “cool that guy’s dead” “don’t be suspicious don’t be suspicious” “dang it worked wtf”
This is the funniest group ever.
LGY : I’d go there to rescue hyung even if there’s only one percent of him left, because that one percent is still hyung.
KDJ : Uh, anyways, let me just grab my other percent back. Yeah. It’ll take a minute. Totally. Yep. Be right back guys. (Insert Homer sliding into bush meme)
⸢This story is for just that one reader.⸥
in the hospital room, kim dokja wakes up.
his memory comes back little by little, from the 1st scenario to becoming the oldest dream and being scattered across the universe.
han sooyoung succeeded in bringing him back.
from outside the door, he could hear familiar voices. he wanted to meet them immediately, to hug them and tell them they missed him, but.
a system message lay in front of him. [your existence recovery rate is currently 41%.] why wasn't he whole? from what he saw, all of him should have come back. hearing the sounds of kimcom approaching, he starts to feel afraid.
is he what the party wants? does he really have all his memories of them?
his fear spurs him on. he couldn't use his full power, but he was the 'oldest dream'. he decides to get the rest of his memory back. it would only take a minute.
using his powers to scour the worldlines, he's easily able to trace the fragments containing his memories and sees them gravitating toward a certain worldline. he follows them through space, and when he sees what exactly what worldline his heart starts to race.
the forgotten 41st turn. a turn that even the 'oldest dream' did not know of, and therefore shouldn't exist. and yet it existed here. and he felt intense hostility from that turn.
brightly shining stars stood in his path. seeing the large amount of stars blocking his way, he identifies the leaders of the group. odin, zeus, poseidon, mithra... the heads of the most famous nebulas in the star stream.
he warns them to get out of his way. his true voice shakes the constellations, yet they don't move. with a conviction so strong that they wouldn't move even if they had to sacrifice all their stories for it. kim dokja raised his hand to clear away the stars, but as he does there's a spark at his fingertips. probability.
probability was the will of the stars, and it was limiting his actions. kim dokja's eyes glittered with interest. and he takes out unbroken faith.
kimcom had revived kim dokja. so he had an obligation to become complete and return to them. if it was for them, kim dokja could do anything.
and yet the stars fought back with everything they had. the forces of the strongest nebulae worked together against a single enemy, and the force of their fight was so cataclysmic it shook the whole universe. the probability of the star stream continued to move. no matter how strong the oldest dream is, its power wasn't all there. if he continued on like this, the probability aftermath could vaporize the nearby worldline. kim dokja makes up his mind and activates [way of the wind] to move straight through them.
the constellations scramble to stop him, but even as he bleeds he continues forward. a story he doesn't know is in front of him, just a little farther away. as he reaches the void veil, the border between him and the scenario area—
[that's enough.]
someone grabs his wrist. he could tell, this was the person who had caused the stars to move. a being who could dare to touch him and still be safe. there was only one such person.
the other self he had left in this world.
49% kim dokja.
We r all ceaselessly watching in here and the symbolism and underlying messages are like well cooked steaks
love as an act of consumption in omniscient reader's viewpoint... the obvious example of kdj consuming twsa to survive, but also 1863rd hsy letting herself and the world be consumed because she loves kdj and wants to keep him alive. lsy offering her own story to the masses because she (incorrectly) thought it would help dokja. dokja only understanding her and deciding to try and have a relationship with her when shes consumed by fourth wall. od offering up body parts to help yjh. persephone, who becomes dokjas mother, introducing the concept of stories being sustanence. 999 being the lifetime where yjh decided to live for others, and hes also the kkoma who cooks dumplings for kdj. i just love how orv compares stories to food as something that not only keeps us alive but can have flavor and texture and be a comfort. and then theres the underlaying irony of yjh, the character controlled by the story, being a chef. he prepares the sustanence for others. but he also loves food and takes pride in it. he becomes his own person and he cooks for himself. can anyone hear me its dark in here.
Hey what if in the future when ORV has an anime and all that stuff and we get one of those limited time pop up cafes and one of the menus is a fried squid donut that if you split it apart there’d be ketchup inside to reference the entire 73rd DK arc…
And maybe with every order you get a small blurb from ORV on your bill where you can put it on a wall with all the other orders to form the entire story of ORV like how HSY did in the epilogue (and if you don’t know/forgot where you can interact with other ORV readers to put it up on the wall)…
Of course we’d also have Murim dumplings, chicken broth and a tomato salad bowl on the menu.
I can imagine a drink for OD as a butterfly pea tea that can change from blue to purple with lemon juice. It’d have like a pinch of edible glitter in it to look like stars.. Then SP’s drink is just a glass of wine lmao.
You know what else would be cute too? Posters on the wall that looks like we’re watching the kkomas cooking. And if you ask the waiter about the food they’ll just say [number] is cooking slowly because [that one Kkoma I forgot the number of] is off-duty today.
Also a section of the cafe is a small reading corner with ORV volumes to read but it’s designed to look like the inside of a subway because why not.
I’ve got this thing rotting in my gallery for two weeks or something. I should make a collection of “ORV animatic ideas that I sketched out / made a small part of but didn’t put my mind into finishing it.”
