idk why it needs to be said, but Kimiko and Frenchie have never been platonic 😭 since that finale, I’ve seen mostly positivity about their confession/kiss, but I have also seen people claiming that the writers are “pandering to a minority” by making them a couple…??? THEY HAVE BEEN BUILDING UP TO THAT SINCE THE MOMENT THEY MET!
Frenchie has always been queer, yes, but it’s SO obvious that he’s been pining for Kimiko since the very beginning. and when she told him he was “family,” it didn’t necessarily negate their romantic vibe. family is simply comfortability and love between two or more people, and it isn’t reserved to platonic relationships.
and for those who claim they were “more like siblings,” I beg of you to answer this: what does your relationship with YOUR siblings look like?! because if it looks anything like the dynamic between Kimiko and Frenchie…that’s concerning.
he literally calls her “my heart” exclusively for the better part of three seasons. which, in French, is typically a romantic endearment.
needed to speak my truth because I’m tired of this debate and the strangely purist takes people have expressed about these two and their relationship. they are allowed to like each other as more than friends, and I’m not sure why it’s such a taboo thing for two fucked up people to find their soulmate in one another. 🤷♀️
i’m not loving the fandom trend of people disregarding the genuine respect that snow had for lucy gray. setting aside the debate on whether he loved her or not, he still thought she was immensely clever and capable. he had a deep admiration for her as a person — a person with autonomous thoughts and feelings, not some sort of zoo animal whose tricks he liked. he related to and appreciated her in ways he couldn’t manage with anyone else. that’s not something easily discounted.
So sad to log on and see the news about Donald. That man was one of the greats, both as an actor and an individual. He brought an immense presence to Coriolanus’ character, as well as each of his other roles. He will be missed. 💔
The premises for your upcoming fics sound amazing!! I'm really looking forward to them, especially the one where Lucy Gray is captured and auctioned off and Coryo comes to her rescue!
Regarding AROYS, this is kinda silly, but what plagues me is the bloody sores that Coryo has in his mouth and his hesitance to kiss LG because of it. We cannot have Snow NOT kiss! Please tell me that he's taking care of it so that I can sleep peacefully!
Lol don’t fret, I would never write a story where he’s afraid to kiss her! That’d be very unlike him 🤣
I simply included that tidbit as a little ode to the anxious worrying that he does in the book like 24/7. He’s constantly overthinking, so I’m trying to stay true to character 😆

Yess, of course they’re all for snowbaird! They are my so-called “Roman Empire,” as the kids are putting it nowadays 🤣
I don’t want to spoil too much (as these fics likely won’t happen for quite some time now, ARoYS will be very long, lol), but I will give some hints for each one:
- An au in which Lucy Gray is a student at the Capitol w/Coryo; she was sent there instead of District 12 when they rounded the Covey up during the war
- A snowbaird take on From Dusk Till Dawn (a campy 90s movie about snakey vampires…get it, bc Coryo’s a snake 😆)
- A medieval AU with Lucy Gray as a witch and Coryo a prince
- A darker fic about LG being kidnapped by one of the elite Capitol families and essentially being sold at an auction…just trust me, she will be saved by a special someone 😏 also inspired by this pic:
Do you still plan to update A Rose For Your Suffering? I know you had some health problems before and are currently recovering. But I just want to say, please don't give up on this good FIC, as you can see in the comments section of ao3, many people are looking forward to your new chapter.

Eagerly awaiting the next installment of A Rose of Your Suffering! Please don't abandon this amazing fic!
Thank you for the well wishes! I am feeling much better since my surgery, however I am loaded with work and responsibilities. I have realized in the time since first starting AROYS that my schedule is very rarely open, and my downtime is spent preparing for other work or school related tasks ahead. :/
With that said, I fully intend to continue and finish this fic! I would never willingly abandon a work, but life happens and updates may be hard to come by…more so at certain times of the year than others 😅 though, I will have more free time come the summer months, and thus more opportunities to write! I hope to have the next update out in May! 🤞
(I also have four other fleshed-out fic ideas that I plan to pursue once AROYS is done…stay tuned! 😉)

I read a LOT of snowbaird fics before I started writing AROYS. It’s difficult to choose favorites, as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed quite a few. I’ll have to get back to y’all on that one 😉

I often feel the need to point out that Lucy Gray did not leave because Coriolanus was a killer…she literally brought that topic up in a moment of relief that there would be no more killing (hopefully) to achieve peace in their lives. She was upset because he lied, as there was ONE thing she held above love: trust. She wanted to trust him—wanted the truth—and he screwed it up out of fear of her reaction. She wrote and performed live a song for him about how much she loved him AFTER HE KILLED THE GIRL THAT HAD BEEN MAKING HER LIFE A LIVING HELL! And with her, Billy Taupe gone, too. She realized killing was necessary, for they were both survivors. Their downfall was the lie, and that’s what haunts me about their story—to think what could have been had he just admitted his faults to her.
I hate to be a nuisance, but it's just that A Rose For Your Suffering is so wonderfully addictive. Is there a chance that we'll be treated to a new chapter sometime in Snowbaird Week?
hello! no need to feel like a nuisance, I completely understand the anticipation for a new update! and I apologize to all my readers for the delay - I’ve been dealing with some health-related issues, had surgery a few weeks ago, and I’m trying to ease back into a stable schedule :) but I promise to have the next chapter out ASAP!
speaking of snowbaird week…HAPPY SNOWBAIRD WEEK, everyone! I hope to have an update out within the span of this fun event.
