I Really Dont Want To Read Whatever Transphobic Stuff JKR Is Writing Ever (better For My Own Sanity),
I really don’t want to read whatever transphobic stuff JKR is writing ever (better for my own sanity), but I stumbled across one of her convos with Maya Forstater and that tweet about woman loosing safety in prisons if ftm trans people are allowed in female prisons. And I think we can all get that she probably meant that awful rapist Karen White.
And you know what? No known rapist should be imprisoned with possible victims. White had a long history of criminal offences, including the rape of a pregnant woman and the reason for sentencing was the stabbing of a 66-year old, not even commenting the offences against children. It doesn’t matter if White is trans. The only thing that matters is that they decided to let a known rapist be close with possible (and sadly in the end actual) victims. If a cis rapist would have been locked up with possibel victims it would have been awful aswell. I know there are people out there who claim that White might not actually be trans and that might be the case, considering the long list of physical abuse they had done on others, considering they are a horrible predator who actually has seeked out vunerable women and children before, but trans or not should not be the issue here.
And I know I am repeating myself, but: The issue is that they locked a rapist up with their victims and that should never happen. No matter what prison no matter what gender, just don’t lock rapist up with possible victims.

Finally a alignment chart where I can perfectly fit Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 in cruel evil villain villain. He not only kicked a puppy (puppy, wolf same thing), said puppy was also his suboridnate and he killed him.
And he commited genoice of course.
So the other day, I was thinking about the classic alignment chart, and how it doesn’t really do much for me personally since it’s more about how characters interact with systems rather than how they interact with other people
I had a minute, so I figured I’d throw something together that DID suit my needs!
(Note: This chart regards a character’s intent rather than the outcome of their actions—and for sake of clarity, here are the definitions I’m working with:
Good: concerned with the well-being the collective, often at expense of the self
Evil: concerned with the well-being of the self, often at the expense of the collective
Kind: concerned with the emotional responses of others
Cruel: unconcerned with the emotional responses of others)

I like conceptualizing things this way, cause sometimes Bad People behave with ‘good’ or ‘kind’ intentions, and sometimes Good People do things that seem ‘evil’ or ‘cruel’
Also this gives me a way to compare/contrast characters who get lumped together under the other system
Spinner and BNHA 295
I am waiting for Spinners reaction to AFO taking over Tomura’s body.
Compress calls him the most loyal to Tomura. Spinner kept the hand (trenchcoat feelings) because it made Tomura feel at peace (he was getting gripped by his family). Spinner places the hand on Tomura’s face. Spinner asks about their friends, their found family, still thinking that it’s Tomura he’s talking to. AFO doesn’t care about them. Afo says that everything is for his sake. Don’t know if the translation was correct but AFO said that the love Tomura gets makes his hold on him stronger an. Directed at Spinner. So the Leagues love for Tomura made AFO stronger and Spinner who choose Tomura as his leader who choose to be loyal to him, to support him who choose the league as his family just got told that his love for him is what gave AFo the power to take over. That is so tragic.
Tomura wanted to go his own path, got friends, a family and AFO plan on using him keeps working better and better.
And I think it’s gonna be horrible for Spinner (Iguchi-kun my ass) to be part of AFOs plan instead of Tomura who he chose to follow. Not blindly like Stain, but because Tomura told them his story and Spinner wanted to be there for the league, for Tomura.
(My feelings on this underneath, point was finished here.)
The league has so many heroic qualities, Spinner is loyal, Compress is willing to die saying them, Twice last act was to save Toga because he only wanted to save his friends, Dabi wants justice, Tomura knows that society is bad and wants to change it, Toga is full of love and wants the world to be a better place to live in. Of couse they don’t go a good way to get there but these are still heroic traits. How are you not supposed to not love them? Do the villains have to be so well fleshed out characters? I just want to punch AFO in the face. Wouldn’t be surprised it AFO frames it as if this is what Tomura wanted. Will see if Spinner buys it. Wouldn’t mind Spinner siding with Deku (when it comes to anouther conforntation) to get Tomura back over AFO. Hope Spinner doesn’t die (in general) by AFOs hands, because he turns against him because of Tomura. This is the only mainstream shonen manga where I wouldn’t be surprised if a gay couple showed up as a big part of the story. Spinner loves Tomura defninitly (maybe not sexually). There are only 2 characters I seriously want dead. One of them is an imprisoned cannibal and the other just took over Tomura’s body.
I actually had the same discussion with sing-for-theongreyjoy already about me using the word regret/remorse but actually meaning a differen type of character change in indication.
So for the long answer you can look at the last reblog of our conversation.
But to cut it short:
Theon doesn’t have as much as a character change in asoiaf, which I think is good, because it shows that quiet some of his character traits (even if they might have been developed because he was being a hostage) are deeply rooted and don’t go away from being tortured, whereas the change in show Theon is much bigger, which is an easier to show but psychologically less realistic.
That is my main issue with this, using the word regret was not my best choice, but I am sick at home and it was 2am. So I apologize for wording this wrong, english is not my first language and I can’t find the right translation for what I mean, because I can’t even remember the german word for it at the moment.
I am very glad GRRM decided to give Theon PTSD pre Ramsay. The fact that Theon gets PTSD in the middle of the war, because he has a break is showing that GRRM has an understanding of both PTSD and that torture doesn’t make you a better person or whatever D&D were going for. Theon developed PTSD during a break in war for him, he started his nightmares about dead people which is something that can totally happen to any person that is coming out of the adrenalin rush of survival (of any sort, but in this case war). The other thing is, Theon subcotiously started to regret his actions, deciding against Robb, letting bad come to the smallfolk of Winterfell, that were in no way at fault for his hostage status and the killing of the miller’s boys, as much as he tries to tell himself that they were JUST the miller’s boys and therefore for war purposes not important. But something in him knows that this is bs, that is is wrong to kill these innocent children and all of that triggers his PTSD way before Ramsay starts torturing him. The way it’s done in GoT shows Theon showing regret and remorse after he gets tortured, wich implys that his change in character comes from said torture whereas book!Theon has this point way before. And that is way better. Being a victim does not make you stronger or a better character. Reflecting on your actions and knowing they were bad does. Torture will just screw your brain up, it will not make you a better person, it will just fuck you up. But apperrently D&D think differently- The same thing happend to Jamie aswell, just saying.
The vice principle of my school had a reputation of being very strict, sometimes even unfair and few students liked her.
But she knew and liked me (at least in my last 3 years), because I was part of the theatre group, the non-acting part that was building the stages, doing the make up and clothing department (we did everything that wasn’t tech) and I had to talk to her a lot.
Coming the end of my last year, I had to go to our school secretarys because of paper work they had to give me and I walk into my ex, who still had something I had asked him for a couple times back.
I just wanted to get this over with (it was more a subcontious need for him to give me some respect because he broke our 9 month relationship on February 13th off via sms, than the want to have the actual item back) and asked him again.
And he didn’t answer.
I don’t know if he didn’t hear me or if he ignored me (back then I was sure he ignored me) but I called him a “verficktes Arschloch” (fucking asshole in german) in front of our vice president who looked at me, noticed who I was and just went right back to her work.
I had seen her flip out at students for way less than swearing, but apperently because it was me, who never used a bad word in school she just assumed that if I said it, it had to be justified.
I kind of miss her. Once I got to know here she was pretty cool.
it is always hilarious to me that hermione managed to go 7 books with a reputation as a goody two shoes. all the school rules she’s broken…heck all the international wizarding laws she’s violated….kept a person in a jar for a year
I am sick of fake feminists in critics and media making saying something is good simply because it has representation and everybody hopping onto it just as sick as I am of misogynists that blame everything on women.
So often I see people on the one end saying that something is good because it has women in it or lgbtq people or people of color (afterwards refeard to in etc. because I am not going to write that out every single time) as if having a non straight-white-cis-cast makes media automatically good because of representation.
Representation is important and it is amazing, but the same people who started putting 1 woman and 1 token black guy into a group of 5 people are the same kind that now make a movie just about women and call it progessive. They aren’t trying to make a point, they try to make money. And because the current audience wants more progession they do that by monetizing women, poc and the lgbtq community.
And when something flops, because guess what- just because you put a big variety of people in something it’s not automatically good they say audiences are misogynistic/racist/homophobic/etc. because they don’t like it and I am so sick of that.
And so many people hop on that train through the internet.
You can dislike something or critize it that has women (etc.) in it without having an actual issue with women (etc.) but with badly written storys.
Critizing is complicated and no matter what you review you’ll probably never get all aspects of something because we aren’t objective. But could we please just get to a point that you can say you didn’t like a piece of media that was advertised as “progessive” by the company and not getting called “non-progessive” automatically and immediately saying every critic is wrong because it’s against something that has representation?
On the flipside we have people that go on rants on how that piece of media is bad because it features women (etc.). No having women (etc.) does not make it badly writing, bad writing does. You can have amazing scrips with all female casts, you can have strong written lqbtq characters and every character having a different skin color and no-one will say it’s good because it has those things. But if it’s bad it’s suddently the fault of the women (etc.)
It’s not. It’s companies wanting to make fast and cheap money by exploring the current “trend” of making pieces with representation.
But not actual good representation, just make a quick cheap script throw some women (etc.) in there, cast somebody well known and call it a day.
And then it ends with every critic getting called mysoginistic and every other person saying that representation ruins media.
But representation doesn’t ruin media. Quick cash grab productions from stuios do. So can we please stop blaming women (etc.) on it and blame the production companies who are responsible for it?
