I really donā€™t want to read whatever transphobic stuff JKR is writing ever (better for my own sanity), but I stumbled across one of her convos with Maya Forstater and that tweet about woman loosing safety in prisons if ftm trans people are allowed in female prisons. And I think we can all get that she probably meant that awful rapist Karen White.

And you know what? No known rapist should be imprisoned with possible victims. White had a long history of criminal offences, including the rape of a pregnant woman and the reason for sentencing was the stabbing of a 66-year old, not even commenting the offences against children. It doesnā€™t matter if White is trans. The only thing that matters is that they decided to let a known rapist be close with possible (and sadly in the end actual) victims. If a cis rapist would have been locked up with possibel victims it would have been awful aswell. I know there are people out there who claim that White might not actually be trans and that might be the case, considering the long list of physical abuse they had done on others, considering they are a horrible predator who actually has seeked out vunerable women and children before, but trans or not should not be the issue here.

And I know I am repeating myself, but: The issue is that they locked a rapist up with their victims and that should never happen. No matter what prison no matter what gender, just donā€™t lock rapist up with possible victims.

Fuck Rowling, Fuck terfs, fuck Harry Potter, fuck Fantasic Beasts

Iā€™m always so sad that JKR turned out to be such an awful person. I was such a lonely kid and the Potter books were such a huge part of my childhood but I just feel like that world is kinda ruined for me now.

I watched that Fantastic Beasts trailer today and the world theyā€™ve made in those movies looks so beautiful but there is no magic there for me anymore.

And even if you do want to continue to obsess over it, for whatever reason (since I know at the very least with stuff like ADHD and autism you canā€™t always help what you fixate on), there are plenty of ways to do just that without funding those transphobic movements!

You want merch? Get it from an independent business not at all connected to JKR, or get it second hand. You want to experience new media related to it? Pirate it. You want to talk about it in depth? Find a friend who will be happy to listen or discuss, no need to post about it on a public platform!

There really is no excuse to keep funding stuff like this. Even if you donā€™t want to move on, there are always alternatives.

We will be like ā€˜Donā€™t give transphobes your fucking money everā€™ and some ppl will still be like ā€˜Ok, but what if I give them a little money? :-)ā€™ unbelievable

I have to say, thereā€™s nothing more satisfying than browsing the Hogwarts Legacy tag and blocking everyone who is playing, supporting, or just generally speaking positively about the game.

Sign the petition - No, HBO: Donā€™t Platform Transphobia!

I spent years in the Harry Potter fandom. Those books brought me comfort, joy, and friends from around the world. I spent countless hours reading, watching the films, attending the cons, and creating art and community online and off. My life wouldnā€™t be the same without Harry Potter. For all those reasons, I wish I could be excited about the @hbomax TV show - but I canā€™t.

We do not want this show. JKRā€™s anti-trans rhetoric is helping fuel a movement that is getting trans people harassed, alienated, and killed. Creating a Harry Potter TV now adds legitimacy and support to her hateful, harmful, wrong beliefs.

We will not watch this show. Fans have written an open letter to HBO telling them to cancel the show. I hope youā€™ll read it, and join me in signing to say HBO, No: Donā€™t Platform Transphobia!Ā

Listen @hbomax, this Harry Potter TV show is supporting transphobia. The movies were magic. The TV show is tragic and fans donā€™t want it. Re

My Take on the JKR Situation

[Prior to the last few days] I have never viewed JK Rowling as anything less than a role model to myself and others. Her creation of the Harry Potter series is something that I know many people hold very dear to their hearts. Especially to those in the lgbtq+ community. To many, myself included, Hogwarts is a place that one can look to for a family, home, and acceptance. The refuge people take inside fictional universes is wonderful. The credit is to be given to the author for the creation of such universes. However, if the creator of that universe fails to give that acceptance to those who looked to them for just that, then the upholding of those principles is left to the members of that community. Personally, I do not agree with what has been said by JKR (I'm lazy and just chose to abbreviate) or Maya Forstater. At the same time, I do not agree with cancel culture. My stance is with protecting those who need it. Protecting those who are in need of that family and acceptance. And though I am Cis, I will fight for my trans siblings to the end. Also, @jammi-dodger has a video about the LGB alliance (https://youtu.be/2xJJiPjHVSg) where I think he pretty much sums it up saying (this is what I took from the video) it doesnā€™t make sense to haveĀ ā€œLGB without the T.ā€ I think that it is in the hands of the community (both Harry Potter and lgbt+) to make sure that the sense of home given by this fictional universe remains alive, despite the, please excuse my informal speech, negative vibe given by JKR. I think that the trans children and adults, that look to Harry Potter Universe for acceptance, deserve to be able to have that refuge. You CAN trulyĀ love the art and kinda hate the artist (Yes, I took that from AJR). Also, yes, I know that JKR has had terf tendencies in the past I have not looked into it prior to this incident, I apologize to the members of the community. Thank You.

I suddenly made a lot of connections in a very short amount of time so I'm here to tell you about it.

In Harry Potter, lycanthropy is a kind of metaphor for HIV/AIDS.

Fenrir Greyback gave it to Remus Lupin when Rem was FIVE.

We just completely overlook that Lupin wasnā€™t a ā€˜Casanovaā€™, he was a CSA victim coping badly

Why can't I be happy? And why have all of my comfort characters been hurt so badly? Like, without fail. All of them.

I thought Tumblr would enjoy this

Screenshot of text:
a racist, a transphobe, an antisemite and a eugenicist walk into a bar. The bartender looks up and asks: ''aren't you that woman who wrote harry potter?''

Harry Potter and Dora the Explorer

The Mauraders Map was first introduced in July 1999 when the prisoner of Azkaban came out.

Dora the Explorer first aired in June 1999....im not saying that JKR stole the Idea of an All-Knowing-Map but thats exactly what im saying
