imagine an au where, coincidentally, both crowley and aziraphale ended up basically becoming robin hood, and doing the exact same thing, which is stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, for different reasons

azi is taking money from the rich because they are cruel and unjust, and redistributing it to the poor, who are kind and good and (in his angelic opinion) more worthy of it.

the idea that stealing might be considered illegal doesn’t cross his mind

crowley is doing the same because theft is, obviously, a generally demonic activity, and could even be considered part of his duties as a demon.

the whole giving it to the poor thing is of course because, deep down, he’s really quite nice, but he justifies it to himself as “well i haven’t got anything else to do with all this gold.” the idea that he could steal from the poor as well doesn’t cross his mind
