But When He Tried To Walk Again / He Wasn't A Child

Cartoonish, digital art based on the DL-6 incident from Ace Attorney. The shading is deep green, and the lighting is bright orange. The background shows an orange pane of elevator glass with the DL-6 bullet hole. It lets in 2 shafts of light. Black panels border either side of the drawing, with a dark green texture in between.

To the left of the glass panel stands Gregory Edgeworth, carrying a nine-year-old Miles over his right shoulder, which faces the viewer. He looks tender and peaceful, smiling slightly, eyes shut. His glasses are splattered with blood, but he's otherwise unscathed. Miles is curled over his father's shoulder, left arm brought across his face, hiding his chin. The right half of his face is concealed by his fringe. His right hand is angled forward from under his left, hanging down Gregory's back. It clutches Yogi's pistol, which points downwards. Blue-white smoke drifts from the muzzle. Blood stains his cheek and visible leg, coating his hands. He stares at the viewer, haunted and wide-eyed as a tear is starting to fall.

To the right of the other two characters is the adult Miles Edgeworth, in darker shadows. He's sat, curled in on himself. His left arm wraps around his front and rests on right shoulder. His right hand holds his head. He has the same expression as his younger self, sweating, fringe also covering his right eye. Blood stains his hand and cheek.

Cartoonish digital art featuring characters from 'Ace Attorney'— Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth and Larry Butz— as children. The piece is based on their class trial as 9-year-olds. There's a gradient overlay, cool cel shading, and warm lighting. The background is divided into 3 uneven segments using white stripes, with 3 more stripes radiating from Miles' pointed finger comic-book style.

In the middle stands Miles. He points confidently to his left. His right hand is planted on his school desk, which spans across the bottom of the piece. He's shouting, serious and determined. One of his front teeth is missing, and he's dressed in a red blazer with yellow cuffs and a blue bow tie. A name label is safety-pinned to his blazer, written in Hiragana, with Signal Samurai stickers on it. On the desk sits a pencil and the edge of a paper sheet. It has partially-visible crayon drawings: half a defence attorney badge, scales of justice, and a pair of legs.

Above Miles' outstretched arm is a much smaller drawing of Phoenix, coloured in blues and yellows. It shows him from behind, stood crying at his desk. The background segment for this area has a blue overlay, with a very faint in-game screenshot where other students accuse Phoenix.

To the right, positioned under Miles' arm, is Phoenix, drawn to a larger scale and cut off around the chest. He's crying messily, face screwed-up. His left hand is raised in a fist to partially cover his left eye. He wears a blue t-shirt with red and yellow detailing. In the gaps between him and Miles are red coins, spilling from an empty bag for lunch money. This background segment has a yellow overlay, with more coin shapes barely visible.

To the left of Miles is a relatively smaller drawing of Larry. He grins lazily, brows raised and face freckled. He's missing a bottom tooth. His right arm is lifted as he holds his index finger under his nose; the other drapes over the back of his chair. He's swinging backwards with his knees lifted, a plaster on the left one. He wears a yellow vest, red sweatbands, and blue shorts. Suspended above his head are the trio's Signal Samurai keychains, as seen in the anime adaptation. From left to right is Miles' red charm, Larry's yellow, and Phoenix's blue. The background segment has a red overlay, with a faint anime screenshot of the Signal Samurai characters.

class trial, 2001

[2024 edit: just to clarify, the lines near edgeworth's pointed finger were supposed to mimic those specific, dramatic backgrounds in superhero comic panels. however, looking back now, I'm conscious that they could be seen as somewhat resembling the radiating rays of the rising sun flag. and I'm making this connection because I recently discovered that this symbolism has been used in some official capcom artwork (for dgs, not the main trilogy, but the point still stands, considering I've played both). I wanted to make it clear that it wasn't my aim to represent that imagery in this piece, even if it has been in some of the artwork I've seen. I'm always striving to be more critical of my past art choices, and as such, I want to be more careful in the future. I hope all is understandable and clear!]

A cartoonish, digital drawing of Jinx from the show 'Arcane'. It's based on the scene where she lights her flare: showing her with one arm raised. She's cut off near her wrist at the top, and her hips at the bottom. She's frowning wistfully. Her hair waves behind her, and blue sparks from the flare rain down. There are blue gradient overlays, alongside cel shading, and a pinkish tinge near the bottom of the piece. The background shows blue and greyish-pink clouds.

 Dragon Slayers: Evolution

 Dragon Slayers: Evolution

🌱 Dragon Slayers: Evolution 🌱

This took a long time, but it was so fun to practice drawing full bodies (and cats 😭) for once! I actually sketched out the concept for these 3 pieces months ago— and recently decided to commit to proper drawings :D

[These pieces were for pure nostalgia, and to revisit media that was part of my artistic journey as a tween! I know the series has major flaws— the treatment of female characters, tasteless fanservice and poor relationship writing, to name a few. I despise these aspects, of course.

I want to make it clear that I drew this art to explore something that shaped my younger self's work. I don't condone Mashima's writing choices, nor did I even keep up with the later arcs of the story and the spin-off(s). Thank you for reading!]

A digital sheet of coloured cooldown sketches. It shows various drawings of Kristoph Gavin. The middle is a full body, and the rest are busts.

The middle sketch is a cartoonish full body. He's frowning in thought with his eyes shut and arms folded. Letters spelling 'Hmmmmmmm' drift beside his head.

To the right is a sketch of him looking slightly irritated as he adjusts his glasses.

Underneath is another based on his menacing smile sprite.

To the left of the full body is a side profile with a serious expression.

At the bottom left is a 3/4 angle sketch, where he glares over his left shoulder.

Finally, at the bottom right is a single drawing of Klavier, smiling sweetly as he looks to his right.
A scribbly digital sketch done in black lines, with rough colouring and a cool overlay. It shows 2 busts. Apollo Justice is in front, frowning nervously as he sweats and looks at something over his shoulder. Kristoph stands behind him, looking composed and almost bored, smiling subtly towards the viewer.
A redraw of the Domino Effect meme with a frowning Kristoph. The smallest domino reads 'Roasting someone's bald head', and the biggest reads 'A murder charge'.
A traditional sketch of Kristoph, done in mechanical pencil. It's based on an angry sprite, where he tilts his head and shows a barely-contained look of rage, a forehead vein popping.
Another traditional pencil sketch of Kristoph. It's based on the sprite where he shows a twitching, menacing smile, glasses concealing his eyes. Handwritten beside the drawing is the meme phrase 'Clearly you don't own an air fryer'.

Doodles of the worstie (I’ve just finished turnabout trump for the first time omg ♠️)
