I know it wasn’t the main focus of your latest fic, but I’m curious to know what the full story/timeline of Yakou adopting Yuma that you came up with besides the context clues you gave us.

Unless you plan to do a fic on it, then you don’t have to answer this.

So I honestly didn’t think of a timeline while writing Transparent for the adoption. But I can whip one up for you!

After his wife died, Yakou tried to live on his own for about one and a half years. But as he said, he couldn’t bear the loneliness and started looking for ways to healthily deal with it. One solution presented to him by his therapist was adoption, and he was curious enough to pay a visit to the orphanage. He met several of the kids there and introduced himself, but only Yuma showed genuine interest in his profession. This led to them bonding during his visits and eventually it was enough for Yuma to be adopted.

It took a little bit for them to get used to their new living situation, but they became an inseparable pair by the time they moved into their new house.

I’m considering trying to do a Yuma adoption centric fic if I find time. Cause it was super fun to write those sections of Transparent. So perhaps perhaps one day!

Nicole: "I heard there’s been some trouble in that part of town. You’re not planning on going there alone, are you?" Her voice is firm, almost commanding.

Crush: "I was, but I can handle it."

Nicole: "No way. I’ll come with you. Just… to make sure nothing goes wrong." She crosses her arms, leaving no room for argument.

Doodles in the Ledger: Her agency’s ledger, normally filled with serious notes and financial records, starts to have little doodles in the margins—hasty sketches of her crush, hearts, or the two of them together. She’d be mortified if anyone found out.

I can absolutely write about this! If Lycaon's partner fell ill, he would be deeply concerned and provide unwavering care. Kendall's go to ice cream flavour + does it differ between who she's with?

IMO Kendall's go-to would probably be cookie dough or chocolate chip; she finds both chocolate and vanilla on their own to be sort of bland and she gets comfort from tasting cookie dough and reminding herself of when G-Ma Betty would bake for her as a child. She also likes to do weird combos sometimes and mix things up (like butterscotch or birthday cake)

I don't think it would differ much depending on who she was with, but she wouldn't mind taking suggestions from those she's with on various ice cream flavors if she hasn't tried them before and they don't sound bad to her. Kendall isn't anything if not stubborn lmao

I came across your blog from your Albedo art and it resurfaced my fixation on Ben 10 again. Not as much now but still interested 'cause I hyperfixate on a lot of other stuff.

Albedo is my favourite character. He was one of my many childhood crushes (most of them are villains and have red eyes 0_0) You could say it was his character design that got me interested in him. His Omniverse look was his PEAKED design imo. Ugh, I could write an essay why I love him if I want to.

Overall, I just wanna say, your art is amazing❤❤❤ and glad that Albedo is getting more attention.

AND AN EXTRA NOTE, UR SO MOOD FRFR I'M GONNA RANT ABOUT HIM TOO::

tbh, if you look at it the general way, Albedo is still extremely underrated along with every other good character/villain that isn't ben. I have a pinterest feed all about ben 10 and boy it's SO HARD to find any new variety of screencaps or fanarts of him since 2017. this is the main reason I decided to start drawing him anyway. he's way too good to be left unnoticed but this is another thing most people don't see. he's way more than a villain or a copy of Ben, he's a mind of his own. he's very interesting in terms of personality/ villainous performance. and I find it even more amazing how it hasn't changed since AF. I know I may be looking too deep into it, and it's just a standard portrayal of him, but don't you think it's cool how he never learns from his mistakes? it shows just how impulsive and moreover desperate he is to get what he wants. He's a clumsy villain. even though Ben warns him time and time again that his actions will have consequences, he'd rather move with his dignity and smarts rather than worry about something he has no business with. Property damage is moreover likely to be the main reason he was imprisoned anyways, but there's way more to it and I'll get to that in a while. remember in 'A Few Brains More' when Ben warned Albedo that shooting at him will lead to trouble? Albedo didn't listen to him and ended up destroying one of the very pillars that generate the energy to the brain extraction machine thingy. He's one stubborn little bastard and I think that's a quality that gives so much potential for future representations (ofc I mean fanfiction), especially in the case of a redemption arc. Imagine just how hard it would be to convince him that his situation isn't that bad; the emotion and the grief and overall mental erosion. Although sadistic, wouldn't it be interesting to dive deep into his faults and manipulate them to see what he'd be like in completely new and overwhelming situations? His anger, grudge holding, stubbornness and superiority complex along with his new analogy of what his motives and plans even were ;that he wanted nothing but his galvan form back, and a little exerpt of his epiphany that destruction is useless, because in fact it is. I think the wiki disregarded this part-- or, well...took it too lightly, in a better sense. And the scene after that, too. The wiki interpreted him going back to trying to clobber ben after taking the second second brain again as him 'going back to his evil ways', despite that not at all being the case. This interpretation makes is seem like as soon as Albedo lost Azmuth's brain, he lost his epitomized consciousness that "destruction is useless and to create is elite", and I feel like that really belittles just how....innocent he is. Blasphemous idea I know but hear me out. The wiki and the show played him out as way more dangerous than he actually is, if there even lies a fatal amount of it at all anyways. All that, when in reality, in the previously mentioned scene his words and actions after the brain dilemma basically meant being angry at Ben for stripping him of the extra knowledge that lead to that epiphany. He only clobbered him again because not only was he disregarded in his words cause he FINALLY understood everything wrong with what was happening, but he was yet again, two steps farther away from getting the omnitrix. This scene was the parallel of the one in AF where he admitted that he gave up on the contract with azmuth and that if he just got his form back, he'll leave Ben alone. of course that isn't the reality of things.

I'm gonna go back to the imprisonment part for a second, and say that he is completely innocent in regards of crime aside from the fact that he caused a lot of property damage. At least Ben has an excuse, he's a hero and has to do what he has to no matter the consequences (of course bearing in mind the safety of the citizens). Albedo is just an outsider. He can't even bail out nor with money nor with eyewitness. It's the fact that he's considered a global threat that overestimates Albedo's value of danger.

-if he's really evil, why did he not think about using the omnitrix to take over the universe?

-if he's really evil, why did he cut his partnership with vilgax many times even thought they both wanted the omnitrix? hint: Albedo called vilgax out on "wanting the omnitrix to take over the world which he promised he wouldn't do". that implies that Albedo doesn't want to take over the universe at all. Nowhere in the franchise has he stated he wanted power over the universe.

-if he's really evil, how come the reality of things is that he's never tried hurting anybody that isn't Ben? Oh, Kevin and Gwen and the Plumbers? fun fact, they were only in his way. If they weren't there, his focus would be on Ben and Ben only.

-if he really wanted destruction, why has it been hinted many many MANY disregarded times that his only goal is to get his galvan form back and not rule anything?

see where I'm getting at?? and what was the purpose of the omnitrix anyways??? oh no, Azmuth made it to form peace aaa how scary if Albedo wanted a copy that meant bad news oh no were in danger etc, etc. even though it was never mentioned why he even wanted a copy, nor was it implied that he wanted it for something bad. Just that he got fired because he kept nagging Azmuth to make a copy for him because Ben was untrustworthy, you know, when he was a kid. He still is a kid, but WHAT WAS SO BAD ABOUT MAKING A COPY IF IT WAS ONLY GONNA BE USED FOR PEACE????? I'm so lost. seriously, why is he the bad guy again??

it's kinda sad honestly. to me Albedo is a mumisunderstood, well written villain-- if you could even call him that-- that just wanted one thing for the sake of another, harmless, actually very peaceful thing. It's a bit unfair how he's treated as the second biggest criminal in the show although he had no bad motives. That is to say NOR HIM OR BEN WERE IN THE WRONG. they were just doing what they had to on each of their terms, but it just so happens that their goals clash as they can't achieve both of them at the same time. Want a copy? yay go ahead, but its been proven that he needs a piece of the original to make a complete one, but Ben's DNA is the default, so he'd still be a human otherwise one alien for all eternity. Ben gives the watch? same problem. plus earth is in danger. Kill Ben????? same problem. it's a lose : lose situation in any case.

My biggest hc for Albedo is that hes really good at make up fromm the time he was on a tv shos in ultimate alien. He picked up some tricks.

I honestly had high hopes for the Hugh and co friendship circle in UAF, but things were opposite to what was expected. It was Albedo that was forgiving and understanding to the other two rather than him being to one to speak up on how he feels, and I find that really disappointing

like Hugh and his friend were the ones to say they wanted to be friends with Albedo, and although Albedo agreed, he didn't have enough time to truly connect with them to be able to just...dump his feeling onto them. wasted potential imo :(((

For a long moment, he seems confused, his rifle held loosely at his side, almost like a spear with how he used the knife strapped to the barrel, his silver eyes on yours as he glances at his feet, his stance, his target, as if checking if he had made a mistake. He wasn't used to getting compliments, not on his fighting style, a blend of spear and staff when in close quarters that his old trainer had called a "bastardization of both", but it was his, and it worked. So after a moment, waiting for the correction or sneer, he offered a small smile, and nodded.

"Thank you. I worked hard to perfect it."

It was odd, to get a compliment from someone unknown. When he had joined the Maelstrom and the Marauder's guild at a young age, he had gotten used to the tough love common of a group build by pirates, and another meant to teach you how to deal damage and heal yourself with the damage done to other. How ironic, given his past, but now, after so long...his lips twitched up, in the ghost of a smile as he resumed his stance, and prepared to smack the dummy around some more.

Kaleh'a:

"Really? Thanks!"

The affable Miqo'te twirls an arrow in his hand and strings it, pulling back on the bow string with practiced ease, sighting his target about thirty yalm away, and released, the arrow making a slight whistle as it flew and a solid thunk as it struck true, just outside of the bullseye of the target. "I started practicing when I was young, with my mom, believe it or not!" He chuckled at the round memories of training, learning, and slowly mastering his technique, until even his mother had said she had nothing more to teach him. "She taught me a lot, from how to make and string a crude bow, to how to hit a Gil piece out of the air. But she couldn't teach me to overcome the nerves around my first kill."

He drew, strung, fired another arrow, the metal head slamming and biting into the wood, a perfect bullseye as he smiled and nodded to himself. "You ever want to train together, let me know! I'm always happy to teach, and in the process, learn." His turquoise blue eyes meet yours with a grin, and he slings his bow over his shoulder, done for the day as you hear the soft grunts of Bryn starting another round with his dummy.

Bryn sat there, across from the oracle, his expression stony as the old crone gave him a concerned look, her fingers tapping the cards that she had just read, a fortune of pain, suffering, and death. For a long moment, he sat there, staring at the cards, before he rose swiftly. She was startled by his quick movement, and he raised a hand as she too almost rose, and he motioned for her to stay seated, meeting her gaze with a cold stare.

"My life has already had its fill of misfortune," he growled out. "I was forced from my home, as a refugee, and thrown into the world as a child." His hands balled into fists against the table he leaned on, voice hard and calm. "But even as I faced impossible odds, even as I should have died, I pushed on. I survived. I lived."

He pointed to the Reaper card, to Death, and shook his head. "I am far too used to Death. Both in my life, and around me. Death and I are an old friend, yet he has not yet claimed me. And he won't." His finger shifted, to the Ten Swords, and he snorted. "Suffering? Really? Do you think a man who walks with Death has not had suffering in his life? No, suffering is a blanket, a friend, a constant state. You are telling me nothing new." Finally, his finger slid to the Tower, and he lifted his silver eyes slowly to hers. "I was there, the day Dalamud fell from the sky. The day I lost so many friends. That was the end of the man I was, the collapse of the world I knew."

He turned, away from the table, and looked over his shoulder, his eyes holding the fortune reader's gaze one last time. "Had your fortune proven good, I would have gladly accepted it. It would have been a nice change of pace. But this...this fortune, it means nothing to me. Because the truth is, and what you will never tell your customers, is we make our own fortunes."

And with that, he stepped from the tent, striding back into the crowds and festivities, refusing to let the fortune affect his mood as he blended into the crowd as he went to make his own fate.

my first instinct is to say coming up with plots, but honestly, after yelling at avalon in dms for almost 2 days straight over dynamics we want to roleplay out, it's just sharing excitement with friends. i love plotting, i love getting invested in ships and threads and different dynamics. but nothing can top that serotonin of having your partner just as invested as you are, where you send each other asks and give each other novels for replies and just SCREAM. like the writing is nice, the plotting is fun, but the mutual investment and excitement can't be beat.

for kami, i really want to hecking write the balladeer. i'm confident in my portrayal of wanderer. i know i'd do scaramouche justice, but i haven't been able to actually WRITE him. i want to write the angry-at-the-world harbinger and have him be the cryptid menace we all enjoy. i will take all threads and ideas please and thank you.

for chongyun, it's not that i haven't written it, but i am so SO SO ATTACHED to my yakshaverse. i have invested so much personal lore and headcanons into the idea that they're cryo yaksha and have ties to the past and explanations as to why they're not in canon lore. i am crawling on all fours and begging to write-

the short male model types.

they have incredibly interesting lore, and are also HEAVILY misunderstood/mischaracterized by the fandom as a whole. i am the number one defender of short =/= minor, i actually loathe that trope with a passion (stares at chongyun). i want to take the short male models and give them the respect they actually deserve, because the game and fandom won't do it, so SOMEONE'S gotta do it.

Stelle -

Physical trait: Gale's eyes. Not just cause they're baby cow eyes, but because Gale's eyes convey so much. They're expressive and honest. She may end up hearing and understanding his words differently, but when she looks at his eyes, she'll know what he actually meant.

"I love you" - but does he really? One look in his eyes and it's a clear answer: yes, he does.

Non-physical trait: Gale's willingness and eagerness to just be present. Stelle craves security so much. She's experienced loss, she's experienced grief, and she tends to push herself more than she needs to in order to protect the light, protect the people, protect nature - but is there anyone there for her?

And before meeting Gale, she was completely alone, with only nature and her duty to her oath and the Morninglord as her comfort, which was fine at the time, but once she experienced Gale's love and care? She just broke. To know that someone wants to be there and to stay when she's lost loved ones and left behind by others? It still makes her cry thinking about it.

Gale -

Physical trait: He probably also likes her eyes, but more than that, I think it might actually be Stelle's scar on her face. I like to imagine he probably likes to touch her face and feel the texture of it. It's a testament to what she's been through, a reminder her strength and resilience that he loves. It reminds him to make sure to shower this woman with love, making sure she knows that every flaw, every imperfection, everything about her is loved by him.

And it reminds him that she's imperfect and mortal. It's not like Mystra's perfect projection, her godly mystique, but it's real, and it's perfectly Stelle.

Non-physical trait: Her warmth. She may stumble sometimes when trying to do the right thing, but she always wants and always tries to be kind to people, even if they have different backgrounds or beliefs. She wants to make sure people feel loved and cared for, though often forgetting to give that same love and care for herself, so he enjoys stepping into that role of giving her that same love and warmth in return.

Marks greatest desire, would be to understand himself. Know more about himself. Be himself. When he was remade, he wasn’t remade whole, only given the parts Lucifer deemed necessary to appease Joseph. He has little memories of the life he was created based on, some memories without feelings, and some feelings without memories.

The longer he goes on, realizing through others how much he’s missing, he hates it. Absolutely loathes it. It becomes more obvious to him when he talks with people he’s supposed to know, but doesn’t. Even those he does, like Sarah, treat him like a stranger simply because for all accounts and purposes, he is. Deep down he hates himself for it a little more then he hates Lucifer or Joseph for it.

Where were you on September 11 2001?

Probably being dead, because I was yet to be born yet. Lol.
