Even Though I've Been A Little Off My Game Lately As I Work On My Skills, I Do Usually Have Some Some
Even though I've been a little off my game lately as I work on my skills, I do usually have some some semblance of a process. My posts as of right now are mainly blender renders, so I do all my blender work and then I go an edit in gimp to fix anything or add stuff I couldn't get in blender. Sometimes I'll let the edited render sit in my files for a few days before I post, but sometimes I'll just go ahead and post it right away. I usually work in blender for a couple hours a day because I do online school so I'm always home.
I also hope to start making story posts soon!

MAL PLS PLS PLS GIVE AN EASY TUTORIAL FOR SKIN NODES OM BLENDER?! Iβm abt to throw up trying to figure this shit outπ
So you wanna learn how to do skin nodes? Dw I got you
So first I'm going to start off with showing my sim Evangeline with and without skin nodes, so you can see the difference that they make.

The difference between the two is night and day and I'll teach you how to get the same look! πππΎ So we are going to open up the shaders tab in blender. It should look like this

And then when you open it, you should see this:

You might have other things if it's a fresh dae, but you can delete everything else that does not say base color, principled bsdf, and material output.
So first you are going to add a hue saturation value node to the node tree, click Shift+A and type in hue saturation node and click it. It will pop up like so:

You are going to attach the node to the subsurface color like so:

I already adjusted the saturation value, but you can adjust it to your liking.
Then you are going to focus on your principled bsdf and focus on the subsurface radius.

You are going to right click it and put all of the values at .250. Then you are going to turn up your subsurface to .250 (or adjust until your sim looks okay).
After you do that, you are going to add a texture coordinate node and a noise texture node into this little void.

So we are going to attach the fac from the noise texture node onto the roughness of the principled bsdf and also adjust the values.

Then we are going to add a displacement node and attach it to the material output like this:

Then we will attach the color from the base color to the midlevel and adjust the values from there.

And we're done!!!!! YIPPEE

This is how the skin will look all your renders going forward <3
I honestly love rendering as a whole, but Iβm still new to it and that makes the little details hard to get right. I absolutely hate dealing with lighting. Itβs the bane of my existence. On the other hand, I really like appending and sculpting clothes on my sims. I donβt do it often, but if I did it in this post

Blender crashed when I went to get food and I forgot to save. All the work I just did is gone. . .
I am struggling with skin nodes in blender, but I will persevere lol
What do y'all prefer to render in? Eevee or cycles? I usually use cycles, but even though I have a good computer it still takes forever. What are some of the pros and cons?
