⋆ 𝓒𝓪𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓮: 𝓐 𝓡𝓮𝓯𝓵𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓸𝓯 𝓜𝔂 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮 ⋆

Cathie confession time! ♡ Please note that this story takes place months after the events of Breakaway Beauty: For True Love's Cure! has happened. Adamina’s curse is broken, and Ruthie has been keeping in touch with Yuu and the gang through text/social media (primarily Cater though), visiting Night Raven on occasion.

⋆ Ruthie is standing in the rose gardens of Heartslabyul, having stopped by to visit after checking in on Yuu at Ramshackle. When she arrived the students were painting the roses, some of them painting them by hand, due to the collar around their neck. Cater notices her, calling her over as he has his clones continue working. They begin making small talk, each of them asking how the other is doing. Cater even takes out his phone, showing her videos he was gonna send that he knew she would like.

⋆ Out of everyone here, Cater was the one she spent the most time with, talking on the phone or hanging out in person. She had fun getting to know him, learning more about him every time they interacted. There was just something about him she felt drawn to, a certain charm that he had. She wasn’t sure how to describe it.

⋆ A thought occurs to Ruthie, causing her to change the subject of their conversation. “You know, you never did tell me your type.” She says, looking up at him. He pauses for a moment, lowering where he held his phone between them as he asks, “What?”

“Back at the castle, during…you know…” She looks down, hesitant to bring it up. While everything had worked out in the end, she couldn’t help but be embarrassed by her behavior, desperate as she was to break Adamina’s curse. “You always seemed to avoid the question when I asked, so I can’t help but wonder….what is your type Cater?” She looks back up at him, waiting for his response.

⋆ His heart skipped a beat at her question, his face growing warm as she stared. He knew she meant it innocently, probably hoping she could set him up with one of her classmates. But perhaps she was wondering for a different reason, his stomach fluttering at the thought. He grew nervous as she continued to stare, unable to look her in the eyes as she patiently waited.

He rubs the back of his neck, clearing his throat as he looks down at his phone. He begins scrolling for a moment, saying “I think it might be better if I showed you…”, his face a light pink. Soon he hands her his phone, Ruthie taking it eagerly as he looks to the side.

⋆ She’s confused, looking at the screen. His camera app is open, with the front facing camera on the phone selected, Ruthie staring at her own reflection. She looks back towards him, his face having turned red as he continues to look away. She turns her attention back to the phone, concentrating on the screen as she thought. A moment passes before she gasps, her face turning pink as it hits her, almost dropping his phone. It’s her she realizes she’s Cater’s type.

⋆ She hands him back his phone, unable to look at him as she presses her hands to her cheeks. Her heart was racing, mind a mess as she tries to make sense of the situation.

Her? She was Cater’s type?? And why was she acting this way, all flustered and lovestruck? She and Cater were friends, it wasn’t as if she….

Oh

She looks back at Cater, her face turning red before she quickly looks away

OH

She covers her eyes with her hands, feeling like a fool. How had she never realized she was in love with him?! Was she really that oblivious?! She couldn’t help but think as she silently screamed to herself, feeling flustered and embarrassed.

⋆ She opens her fingers a bit, eyes peaking out a bit from where her hands covered them. She turns to look at Cater, seeing him looking just as flustered as she was, watching her reaction. She slowly moves her hands from her face, laughing nervously before moving closer towards him. She stands in front of him, taking one of his hands in hers. She looks up at him through her lashes, her voice coming out softer than usual as she says, “You’re my type too, Cater”

Bonus Scene:

⋆ Ruthie is standing behind Adamina, telling her about what happened as she braids her hair. “I can’t believe I’ve been in love with him this whole time,” she laughs, shaking her head “It’s so silly to think how oblivious I was!”

“I thought it was obvious,” Adamina says, Ruthie meeting her eyes in the mirror for clarification “That you had feelings for him.”

⋆ Ruthie pauses in her movements, holding her hair as she has her turn around, waiting until they faced each other before asking, “Wait, you knew!?”

Adamina shrugs her shoulders, “Yeah, I mean….we’ve known each other for years. Of course I’m gonna know when you have feelings for someone.”

⋆ “How come you never told me?” Ruthie questions, turning her back around to resume her braiding.

“I wanted you to figure it out on your own.”

Ruthie aww’s in response, thinking how nice it was that Adamina gave her time to figure out her feelings herself, rather than just telling her.

A smirk comes to Adamina’s face, crossing her arms as she continues, “Plus it was funny, seeing him trying to get your attention and failing.” She laughs as Ruthie swats at her shoulder affectionately, having her get up now that her hair was done. They trade places, Adamina beginning to braid Ruthie’s hair.

⋆ “I don’t know why you want me to do this, you know I don’t know what I’m doing.” Ruthie laughs, already seeing the braid coming out messed up through the mirror. “Because it’s fun, of course!”

A fond smile comes to Adamina’s face as she shakes her head, resuming her task. They sit in silence for a moment, Ruthie closing her eyes as Adamina runs her hands through her hair, trying again to braid it.

“Hey, Ruthie….”

“Hmm?”

“Congrats, on getting your happy ending.”

⋆ Ruthie's eyes open at her words, staring at her friend through the mirror. Her eyes start to tear up as her words sink in, swallowing as she tries to speak. “Oh…” she says, sounding emotional as she uses her arm to cover her face.

Ruixing has been able to digest Lilia’s cooking with little to no adverse effects. Whether or not he actually liked it is… up for debate.

and then i was like: wait….. that’s a lot of similarities……….

I DO technically remember my first oc its just that I dont use a lot of those ones anymore and they were sorta- used later in my more recent characters, so Viddian is more like the oldest surviving oc JFNDJDJ but i revamped her a year or two ago
