I had v long (to my thighs) and thick hair and managing them was extremely hard (at least 2 hours to wash, either whole night to dry or another 2 hours w/hairdryer, tons of shampoo, always in braid(s) so they don't get caught in anything, sometimes headache from so much weight on my head) and then when I was sixteen I cut them to my shoulders. Let me tell you my family and friends almost mourned the damned thing, while I enjoyed light head, absence of headaches and quick baths.
I later shaved sides and back of my head and not only it saved me in summer, I can now dye my hair in different colors once a week cus I need like a spoonful of dye. (my mother was terrified first time she saw me with blue hair, but I got her enjoy my colors through sheer force of constant exposure to my experiments)
Cutting my hair was the best decision of my life and I didn't regret it once.
Reblog if you’ve ever been told it was a “shame” that you cut your “beautiful hair.”

half of fic research is rereading the fandom wiki four times for obscure character info and the other half is googling shit like “when did we start using drywall in home construction”
“Old friend” either means an elderly dog or an individual of the same gender with whom you have been secretly in love for more than a decade. There are no other possible interpretations.
