It’s been a long time since Heroes was on the air and even longer since it was any good, but Mohinder/Sylar still holds a very special and tremendously disturbing place in my heart. And after hearing that a friend of mine was starting the series for the very first time, I decided to wrangle up some of my favourite fics from way back in 2006/2007.

Most of these stories are complete, but there are one or two abandoned ones that are still well worth reading. My absolute favourites are marked with asterisks (**). Please read the individual warnings on each story with particular care for non-consensual/dubious sexual content and mindfuckery. The nature of this particular ship means that there are a rather high number of problematic story tropes in here, so be prepared!

Falling Down Sideways: by prentice. (ao3)

EXPLICIT. 5,399 words incomplete. This one is only a chapter and it’s tagged as slow to update. Still, it’s off to a great start and the writing is pretty damn good too. Definitely keep an eye on this one.

Another Day in Paradise: by rayvenwolfe (ao3)

MATURE. 15,903 words completed. God, I love this fic. Lots of protective!Owen, and the brotherly bonding was an added bonus. I loved this one the first time I read it, and then they made it a series and I just about died on the spot.
