So, so true. Mine was Heero Yuy/Duo Maxwell. I was 12/13. Heero/Duo weren't only my introduction to yaoi (which later became slash), they were my introduction to fanfic period. I don't even know how I discovered fic about them, but I did and now here I am almost twenty years later and all of my ships are slash with very, very few exceptions. I think my one die hard het ship is Firefly's Zoe/Wash, and I don't even read fic focused on them because they are perfect and wonderful as is. Every other ship is (fem)slash. I start shipping things immediately upon discovering them. Instantaneous Ships Everywhere!

Everyone has that gateway gay ship. You know that innocent first gay ship that you accidentally stumble upon and then it opens the flood gates and you’ll never ship a straight ship again.

This. I'm guilty of subscribing to this stereotype myself, but this is so true.

It’s kinda messed up that we associate the term ‘princess’ with being spoilt, petty, shallow and weak, while we associate ‘prince’ with being dashing, courageous, powerful and strong.

I like that they're in shoes that are actually practical to fight in, and not in sky-high stilettos. It irritates the crap out of me to see females (anyone really, but females usually) put in completely ridiculous foot ware and then having a fight scene that's supposed to be halfway believable. At some point, they're going to land wrong on that heel and turn their ankle, the heel's going to get stuck in a hole on a grate, and don't even get me started on heels on uneven/cracked/cobblestone walkways, on rocky ground, or on woodland ground full of roots. It's a pet peeve of mine, and to see females openly portrayed in practical fighting footware is immensely refreshing.

I'm scrolling through FB and loads of my friends are just spewing pictures of their kids everywhere, even the ones who are not parental minded and never ever wanted kids. Just begging for people to agree that their precious little muffins are beautiful. And they're not. Like, at all. I'm looking at all these pictures going, "You are two fairly attractive people. What the heck did you DO? This beastie is freaking hideous and I'm really concerned about your eyes." There are zero cute children among my acquaintances. ZERO. What the heck happened?? Statistically speaking, there should be at least one so-ugly-they're-adorable baby among them. Nothing. Products of all the worst physical features of their parents combined. It's frightening.

Text/chat based suicide prevention for those with anxiety regarding phone conversations, those not in a position to speak freely, or those who simply prefer texts over phone calls. Your preferred method of contact shouldn't prevent you from getting support. You are not alone.
