Aurealmaster:

Well, he is SURPRISED, at least.  Whatever he’d been expecting, it wasn’t this.  Cecil can’t help the comfortable laugh which escapes him at such a domestic sight.  At least Assassin seems to have made himself comfortable– he’s thankful, actually, to find this.

  “ oh– uh– “

But, well, Cecil does as is requested– he takes his jacket off at the door and hangs it up before he makes his way to the sofa.

“I apologize for leaving you on your own all afternoon.  I’m glad you found entertainment for yourself.”  Cecil sets down manuscripts from his work day on the coffee table, setting aside his work for the evening.  It can wait.

Aurealmaster:

Hmph. Well, at least the kid had some humility and grace, unlike some Masters Lunarre could mention. The Servant was initially unsure how to take this show of consideration, until he remembered that Cecil’s house was still bland and the only entertainment Lunarre had managed to find had been from a magical box.

“First off - you’re gonna do something about this bland-ass house. Were you robbed? Did you just move in? Or do you really have no taste or interests at all?”

Sitting back, the assassin sighed.

“When you’ve got a free day, we’re going straight to the nearest home improvement store and fixing this place up.”

His Master opened his mouth to reply, but Lunarre held up a hand to stop him.

“The second - last - thing is this. You summoned me. Yeah, barely 24 hours have passed since then, but I haven’t heard a word about any plan, any action. If you think I’m going to be caged up in this house for the entire war, you’re very wrong.”

He frowned, and his voice took a lower, more solemn tone.

“Even if you don’t want any part of it, others damn well will, and sooner or later they’ll bring the fight to you. Your best bet would be to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

His excitement over her existence was awkward to say the least. In comparison to those who had recognised her from the woman that she once was this was a far more a far more bizarre reaction to say the least. The conversations that had been much more solemn affairs focused o discussing there shared past.

“I…I see. So you knew Alisha Diphda then.” There was a sneaking suspicion in Alisha’s gut that made her feel as if was unlikely to be the case. Unlike those that she rekindled with before and actually felt some kind of attachment subconsciously, there was simply…. nothing. Gazing at his mannerism in silence it was hard to imagine forgetting someone so excitable. And yet at the same time she simply failed to see how they would have met nonetheless be acquaintances.

The light seraph stiffened the moment he took a hold of her shoulders. It’s only out of sheer politeness that she doesn’t move to a step back to regain her personal space. “I would ask you to not speak in such a way of the dead.” Alisha replied, voice dropping into a sterner tone and disposition shifting with it in reflection of it. Where in Alisha Diphda was the woman that she was born from, the seraph who had taken the name  Ilremwy Amekia was resolute to make the life she was given her own. It was her way of paying the woman that had lived for her nation respect.

“I am not that woman nor shall I ever be her. So I ask you refrain from speaking to me as if I am.”

The smile on Lunarre’s lips slowly slipped away, and the excitement that had overpowered reason in his mind fizzled out like the last embers on a dying fire. Self-conscious, he took his hands from Alisha’s shoulders and let them hang loosely by his sides.

Of course she wouldn’t remember him. It was thus for all seraphim. Lunarre, for his part, had achieved the seemingly impossible by recalling many of his memories with enormous (and painful) effort - and some luck. But the fire seraph, in his excitement, had forgotten that he was an anomaly. At least, as far as he knew.

“You don’t want to remember?” he asked quietly. “I was the same as you are now when I first - woke up...like this. Didn’t take me long to find out I’d been human before. I couldn’t stand it. I couldn’t stand being wilfully ignorant of my previous life. It felt so lonely. I had to find a way, and by busting my brains and getting help from certain friends...I’m on my way to succeeding. I remember you, for starters. There are gaps, though, so I’m not done yet. A certain Shepherd and his gang taught me to persevere.”

He smiled wistfully.

“I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t agony at times. But, for me, it was worth it. It helps me in a lot of ways, to remember the mistakes I made and the people I knew. I might be a seraph now, but that doesn’t erase the significance of my human life. It doesn’t mean that Lunarre wasn’t, well, me.”

“The same applies to you. The Alisha I know hasn’t died. Not her spirit, anyway. The way you carry yourself, your persona... that good-hearted young lady isn’t gone just because she’s forgotten her past. Alisha is Alisha, human or seraph.”

Aware he was rambling, Lunarre scratched the back of his neck and looked away.

“Maybe I’m just overly-sentimental. If you’re happy the way you are now, fair enough. I understand. This’ll be the last you’ll hear of me about the whole past thing.” He managed a smile as he gave a nod. “I’m glad to see you’re doin’ well. You seem to be anyway. The world’s a better place for having a seraph like you in it. Sorry I got so worked up. It’s been... a long time, Alisha.”
