6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?

For Mayday, she's aware that Zuke puts a lot of effort into his appearance. She likes to play with Zuke's hair, since it's so bouncy and soft and well-maintained, and he's very proud of it, so it's always shiny and clean. However, her absolute favorite part is Zuke's chest. It's well defined, strong, and perfect for laying her head on, and when she puts her ear to it she can hear his heartbeat pounding as strong as his kickdrum, and it always puts her at ease. As for Zuke, his favorite part is... Well, everything that makes Mayday "Mayday". Every quirk in her appearance makes him smile, from her pointy, twitchy ears to they way her browline tapers into a cute little button nose, to her big, toothy grin that's so wide you can see her gums. But his absolute favorite part is her big, bright, beautiful pink eyes. The floral starbursts that bloom and sparkle whenever she's happy makes his stomach do flips every time. They're so unique and so Mayday, and he could spend the rest of his life just gazing into them

21. Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?

Mayday, 100%. It wouldn't take much prompting, just an upbeat song over the radio or at a show, and she's pulling Zuke to his feet and swinging him around, laughing and singing the whole time. Not that Zuke would mind, though he insists on having two left feet. May would just say it's "Never Stopped Her" and keep the two of them going until they're both sweaty and tired, hearts racing from the exercise.

tyyyy I really loved that chapter by the way and I almost cried in excitement when it came out bc I was so happyyyyy! And it was so goooooood! My friend thought I was going a lil crazy that day but how could I not! Ur writing makes me crazy for more!

“You’re leaving.”

“Meredith—” she sighs. “Not here, please.”

“Fine,” she says, clipped.

Meredith drags her into a supply closet. “You were just going to leave without telling me! That’s not— It’s not fair, Addison.”

“I know.”

Meredith is quiet, leans a hand against the racks, bracing herself. “What does L.A. have that I don’t?” 

Addison throws her hands up in defeat. “It’s not that simple—”

“Then tell me.”

“You kissed me, Meredith!” she says, harsh. Voice fraying. 

Meredith remembers two weeks ago, unsteady and unsure. Dragging Addison into an on-call room. She hadn’t planned on it. Reaching up and pulling Addison’s lips to her own. Soft and full. 

“You kissed me back—” Meredith hurls at her. Then softer, “I wouldn’t’ve done it if I’d known.”

“Meredith,” Addison shakes her head, runs her fingers through her hair. “I’m not leaving because of you.”

Meredith feels disappointment, sharp and acute, blooming in her sternum. An awful, ugly part of her wishes Addison wanted to leave because of her. At least then it would have mattered. 

“Then why, Addison?”

“It’s too much, being here.” Addison pauses, gathers herself. “I walk around and all I see are ghosts. I can’t live like this, Meredith!”

Meredith hates how small her voice sounds, “But what about me?”

Addison’s face hardens. “What about you?” She laughs incredulously. “You’ll go back to your life here, with your boyfriend, and everyone else. This. Us,” she pauses, gesturing to the space between them. “Was just something you used to fill the void when you were alone and suicidal.”

Meredith flinches away. “You don’t get to do that—” she says, angry. “You don’t get to use that as an excuse to question my judgment every time I make a choice you don’t like!” 

“You don’t want me, Meredith—”

Meredith cuts her off, “Is that why you kissed me back? Because you were scared I was going to—”

“Don’t.” Addison deflates, “No, Meredith. You know that’s not why.”

“Say it, Addison.”

“I have nothing more to say. I don’t owe you anything.” Addison turns, reaches for the door. 

Desperate, Meredith grabs her arm. “We were friends, or— Or something before that—”

Addison wrenches her arm away, pivots, hair whipping around as she faces Meredith. “No! No Meredith, we were nothing.” 

Meredith recoils as if she’s been slapped. “I—'' I hate you, it forms heavy on the tip of her tongue but she can't say it. 

Addison seems to realize her mistake. “Meredith, I’m—”

“Save it.”

“Meredith, look at me.” Against her better judgment, Meredith does. “I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry.” 

Meredith feels a tear roll down her cheek. Gently, Addison brushes it away with her thumb. Her hand lingers, fingers splaying across Meredith’s cheek. Addison leans forward, tipping Meredith’s chin so she can feel Addison’s breath on her lips. Addison kisses her, tender. Meredith sinks into it. Her lips are warm and soft, and for a second Meredith believes it’s going to be okay.

Then lightly, Meredith pushes at Addison’s shoulder, steps away from her. 

“Goodbye, Addison. I hope— I hope L.A. works out for you.” Meredith leaves Addison in the supply closet, soft eyes and parted lips.

True to her word, Addison is gone the next morning.

Anyways, thinking about Batman pulling his disappearing act on the GCPD rooftop for the first time after partnering with Robin, and just leaving Robin behind.

Gordon turns around, notices that Batman is gone but the kid is not. Then Robin notices that Batman is gone, and promptly burst into tears because, “He left me! He left me behind!”

Jim Gordon is not heartless and he’s a father, he takes the kid into the precinct. He gives him a blanket and a snack. He tries to calm him down and asks if he knows a phone number that he could call for Batman. He gets a wobbly, “He doesn’t have a phone.”

Jim steps out of his office for a second to speak with an officer about turning the bat signal back on, and when he gets back to his office the kid is gone. The crime scene photos and forensic report from the joker attack yesterday are also gone from his office.

Meanwhile Robin is standing in the alley behind the GCPD, waving as Batman grapples down to meet him. He gives him a big smile and says, “I got the evidence!”

“Good job, Chum.”

My humble plea for people to cross-post their meta & other fannish nonfiction to ao3, and tag it with “meta analysis” so I can find it and adore it

Heyo there, do you know some artists that don't ship shadowpeach and see them as brothers or friends? I'm not a hater of the ship but I view/interpret them more like a platonic relationship

Yeah sure! I actually know of quite a few (although some of them may not have posted LMK or JTTW art in a while). I'm also going to include some links to some of my favourite artworks of theirs (especially art that portrays Sun Wukong and Macaque as brothers/platonic).

First off, I must mention myself lol. I make lots of Monkie Kid theory videos on my YouTube channel, but I also make Monkie Kid animations every now and then. More specifically, I made this animation explicitly portraying Sun Wukong and Macaque as brothers, to the song 'Lullaby for a Princess'. I do plan to make more LMK animations, including more with them as brothers.

Anyway, onto other people/artists who see them as brothers/platonic:

@/spotsupstuff has a whole AU (called the Fruit Twins AU) where Sun Wukong and Macaque are brothers! This is one of my favourite art pieces for it - but I also really love this one. They also made this amazing art piece where Macaque is looking into the Demon Revealing Mirror but his reflection is Sun Wukong's - this links to what happened in the book and how, in the book, the Six Eared Macaque was a manifestation of Sun Wukong's mind!

@/sketching-shark makes a lot of cool JTTW art! I really like this art piece they made showing the Six Eared Macaque as a manifestation of Sun Wukong's mind and darkest desires. They also made this cool body horror-esque drawing of Sun Wukong, based on one of the earlier depictions of him.

@/antidotefortheawkward-art is a Chinese artist who has spoken out about how they feel shadowp*ach is disrespectful to their culture, as in the original book, the Six Eared Macaque is literally made from Sun Wukong and they have the same DNA. But anyway, they have made some absolutely gorgeous JTTW art (this one is my favourite), and I highly recccomend you check out their YouTube Channel, where they have posted some amazing JTTW animations.

@/archrui is another Chinese artist who has said they view Sun Wukong and Macaque as brothers due to the context of the original book. I really love this art of the Six Eared Macaque and Lady Bone Demon/the White Bone Spirit that they made.

@/_Yu_5 on Twitter makes a lot of beautiful LMK art. This is probably my favourite art work of theirs overall - tw for blood/animal death (most of their artwork doesn't have that stuff though). However, I really love this drawing of theirs portraying Sun Wukong and Macaque as rowdy siblings.

Ok, this one might be a bit surprising, but @/OffBrandLink, aka Ashe Jacobson who is the Storyboard Director on Monkie Kid, said they see Sun Wukong and Macaque as brothers after apparently being informed by a Chinese fan. In regards to art, they mostly post cool Storyboard drawings/sequences from Monkie Kid, like this one, which sometimes include things that were cut out of the final scene/episode.

@/journey-to-the-au makes SO much cool JTTW art (I really like this cute but frightening one of the Six Eared Macaque), including cool animations that they have also put on their YouTube channel. They clarified how they see Sun Wukong and Macaque here.
