New Theme WIP!
New start, new theme. Let me know what you think! Not too sure about the blue/grey colour scheme. Was thinking about my icons and Lunarre's blue flame powers...

Lunarre frowned. He hated that blasé attitude. He couldn’t understand - how could a life that mattered be so careless? It occurred to Lunarre that Kimuri’s life may not even matter to him at all. Kimuri may well be another fool like him, who believed the contrary once, but now knew better.
But was it better? It couldn’t be denied. At some point or other, Kimuri’s life began to matter to Lunarre. The feeling like a cold finger slipping down his spine shook the hellion.
Did that make Kimuri the fool, and Lunarre the deceiver? As he was now, could Lunarre accept it as anything but?
Was Lunarre deceiving himself all over again?
Once again, for a moment, Lunarre cursed the day he locked eyes with the seraph he called Gramps.
“You’re basically admitting it’s pointless,” the hellion muttered. “But you still keep on going. You wanna die that badly?”
He sighed.
“I can’t say it has,” Lunarre said, kicking a stone. “And that’s partly your fault. I oughta make you take responsibility, as my elder.” A sardonic sneer crossed his lips. “How about it, Gramps? You stop your crazy dreaming and I’ll quit the whole hellion thing. Good deal, right?”
Ordinarily Lunarre would take exception to being called a kid, but thinking about it from an old fart's perspective - he was.
The hellion was more concerned about the unfocused eyes of said old fart. As much as he hated to admit it, this wasn't just some old geezer he could brush off anymore.
Lunarre masked his concern with a smirk.
“Yeah. How ya been, Gramps? Still doing stupid shit I see.”

“Ah?” Stopping in his tracks the seraph looked over his shoulder. Admittedly, it was pointless for him to do so with his fading sight. But it was out of habit for him. The air of malevolence was obvious for him yet… he held no real reason to feel cautious.
“Is that you kid? Been a while hasn’t it?”
Hi. I'm back. Really. I'm really sorry, life really got on top of me and so many things happened and have been happening all at once, and frankly my muse flopped.
The flames of my muse have ignited again, however, and things have generally calmed down, so I think I'm ready to get back into the swing of things.
Also I bought the last volume of the Zestiria manga. Somehow I thought it would be longer. Shame.
And by God there's a lot to talk about. The disappointment is quite soul-crushing actually. What promise there was for Lunarre's character was royally blown up in flames (more on that later) and hilariously enough there was even MORE evidence that all of it was so easily avoidable if Rose had functioning ears and hadn't spent her life killing all her 'messes'.
But more on that later. I have scanning and RP stuff to attend to.
Again, sorry for my absence. I hope we can pick up stuff again :)

“HA, I’m BACK!” [Flips off the sky with both hands] “FUCK YOU WINTER! WOO!”
Jesus this was dark. Never expected to hear something like this from Lunarre. I was struck by the immediate assumption that it was Simone was the one saying this, though it is clearly Lunarre because he is the focus of the panel and his lips are parted in speech.
It struck me - because family is Lunarre’s fixation, the thing he loathes. His next words (“Family, how disgusting” etc.) and the rest of his bitter dialogue tell us as much.
This speech sounded like something Simone would say. This made me think - did Simone further entrench Lunarre in darkness with her own views? Did she impart her own nihilistic worldview onto an already bitter and vengeful individual? It would certainly go a ways to explaining how and why Lunarre suddenly ended up at SImone’s side, working alongside her under Heldalf for his own ends.
If this is true, then could Simone be responsible for driving an angered Lunarre to malevolence before the start of the story? Was it she who had him become a hellion? Or did Lunarre seek her out, or come across her, and hearing that she could give him power - something Lunarre craved back then - willingly heed her words or do her bidding so that he might attain that power (as in, become a hellion)?
If Lunarre didn’t meet Simone before he went rogue, then it make sense that Simone would have approached and recruited Lunarre some time after the confrontation in Ladylake between him and Our Heroes. What did she reel him in with? Promise of more power? Promise of a definitive plan to destroy the people and things Lunarre hated?
Back to the speech itself, it appears Lunarre is regurgitating Simone’s beliefs in order to justify - or validate - his current state of loneliness. The idea of family still rankles him, and causes him immense pain, but he repeats Simone’s nihilistic ramblings because it momentarily hardens his heart against the pain. He doesn’t enjoy what he says - the mad grin he usually wears is replaced by a darkly solemn expression, as if he’s trying to convince himself.
I GREATLY look forward to where the manga takes my favourite fox boy!!

“Here, use my scarf/gloves/hat.”

“It’s not just below freezing, it’s below zero.”
“Let’s stay inside today.”
“Doesn’t this look lovely?”
“There’s no better way to spend a cold day than under all my blankets with a book or twelve.”

Lunarre’s lip curled in a strained smile. Getting zapped by an angry ball of fur wasn’t pleasant, but the trainer let it go.
“S’alright,” he said, patting his Delphox on the head. The Pokemon bristled angrily as it stared the Luxio down. “You calm down too.” He chuckled. “Guess we both have over-protective Pokemon.”
Glancing at his surroundings, the older trainer asked: “So what brings you to a place like this? Nothin’ here but ruins. You an archeology buff or somethin’?”

Well that was a confirmation he didn’t want to hear. But that was just his luck now wasn’t it? Clenching his jaw he soon tried to relax.
Nothing to get too tensed about yet. For one thing this one wasn’t mindlessly attacking him. Though his comment on what he did wasn’t one he wanted to answer.
And yet Plum answered.
“Why should I enjoy it. For one thing I’m a merchant. I can’t sell a thing with bloodied hands….The other is that I want to try-” but wasn’t it useless? he’s already a monster. “- to maintain my humanity.”
Laughable
A merchant hellion? What a laugh. The same hellion who killed also sold trinkets to the lovely folk of Glenwood? A kid wedged between the life of a human and the life of a beast.
Lunarre shook his head. He spoke, and with each word he took a step closer to Plum.
“’That so? Well then, take some advice from a hellion who’s accepted reality. You’re wastin’ your time. Try what you want, all that ugliness inside you will eat ya up and make you what you are, whether you like it or not. The more you struggle, the worse it is. But no matter what, the end result’s the same. The pain’s less if you just let it happen.”
Now Lunarre was inches away from Plum’s face, hunched and smiling wide.
“Trust me on that.”
