taking a leap in your writing
You are allowed to make mistakes, genuinely. You are allowed to try something new, and it's okay if it doesn't work out.
This is going to sound bizarre, but it's okay to suck. It's okay to try your hands at a new genre, or just writing in general, and fail miserably.
Not just because writing in on itself can be taxing, but because it's art. It's built on creativity. You are allowed to create, and you are allowed to challenge yourself. You will never know everything, but you will keep learning, and your art will continue to improve for as long as you write.

I JUST FOUND THIS AND CHOKED LMAO
Butt's numb from reading the entire series in 1 sitting, but no regrets at all. From "Now, I have to bleach my eyes and the door!" to "You held your babies, sniffed their heads, and waited for that euphoria and influx of love you’d heard about from all your friends to kick in. It never came", this made me laugh and (almost) cry in equal measure.
Such a beautifully rending masterpiece. Thank you for this!

You hummed to yourself as you chopped vegetables in the kitchen, the knife easily slicing through the carrot in your hand. Next to you the stone pot preheated on the stove, getting ready for the stew you were planning to make. It had been a while since you had properly cooked, but with exams piling up you needed an hour to turn off the stress so you didn’t lose your sanity.
However, your brain refused to turn off as you went through your notes in your head, trying to remember all the neurotransmitters and their detailed effects, even though you had relentlessly studied them since undergrad. Your humming slowly turned into a recitation of your notes as you went on autopilot, taking out the sauces from the fridge. That is, until the beep of your front door brought you back to your surroundings just in time to watch your best friend walk in, dressed in a full suit. As soon as he saw you in the kitchen, he was rushing to you, turning you around and wrapping his arms around your waist.
“Anime titties,” he sighed, burying his face in your chest, his nose nestling in the cleavage afforded by your tank top, his smile painted on your skin. He seemed so content that you almost felt bad for smacking the top of his head. Almost.

It seems like everyone around you is either already in love, or in the process of falling, and while normally you couldn’t give a damn, finding out the co-worker you’ve had a teensy crush on is dating someone else at the office seems to sucker punch you right in the gut. It’s stupid, and you’re irritated at yourself, but you can’t seem to shake out of the funk you’ve fallen face first in.
Feeling lonely and heartsore, and mad for no reason, during drinks with your best friend you spot a man at the bar. Tequila confident, you make your way over to the stranger, and successfully one thing leads to another. The next morning you leave before he’s woken up, feeling satisfied in one way, but still as discontented as ever. Telling yourself it was an inebriated mistake, you quickly try to forget about it.
Only, three weeks later that night comes back to haunt you – in a very unescapable way…

Eyes blurring, your computer screen turns into a brilliant kaleidoscope of blues and greens and pinks, the dots blurring together when you close your eyes, rubbing at your temples. Sighing, you slam your laptop shut. The data analysis could wait. Dr. Ko had you pulling extra hours in the lab anyway, crunching numbers and supervising the clueless first-year dental students who, in their eagerness, had nearly knocked over years’ worth of research on oral drug delivery using chloroplasts.
“I knew you’d cave,” a voice snickers to your side. Looking over at the window, Kim Seokjin is the picture of elegance, the vibrant sunset illuminating his broad figure in hues of pink and orange, the sound of waves crashing behind him, and you can almost imagine the blue of the ocean mirror in the smart button-up he wears.
“I didn’t cave,” you pout, not wanting to admit you’d gotten tired of working. “Just taking a break.”
Seokjin had brought you by the seaside to have fun, paying for your flight, but you’d felt guilty, insisting that if he was off attending the biomaterials conference all day, the least you could do was catch up on grant applications and submitting abstracts for your own work.
It had pained him to see you hunched over the tiny hotel room desk, working hard, instead of flouncing around in the tiny, colorful bikinis he’d seen stashed away in your suitcase, but he had to admit, your determination, and the slightly askew glasses on top of your head, only made you cuter.
