After A Very Looong Pause, Here I Am With A New Review.

After a very looong pause, here I am with a new review.
Yesterday I finally was able to see Lightyear.
First of all, when I started watching it, I thought it was going to be such a waste of time. Basic space adventure with monsters or bad guys and a really predictable storyline. It ended surprising me for the good though. I even would rate it as one of the best animated films I've seen so far.
The music was okay and special effects were average for an animated movie in 2022. What really caught my attention were the memorable and yet relatable characters who starred the movie.
*The kiss scene was adorable. Fuck off homophobes đź’–. *
ALERT SPOILERS AHEAD.
The thing that this movie wants to encourage us to do is, to accept the way things turned out and the way things are, instead of longing or yearning for "what could have been". Learning that sometimes not having things going your way is a blessing in disguise, which is a really valuable lesson for both children and adults. I really appreciate the complexity of the plots with which animated movies are made nowadays. Sometimes our enemies are not out there, but within us.
The characters (lesbian interracial couple, their child and their grandaughter, and two clumsy, inexperienced and average middle aged man and old woman plague the film with their puns, making it more entertaining, and their role in the film is to deconstruct the idea of allmighty powerful hero, showing us that together, we are stronger. All of them are really representantive of our society.
The reference to God's creation by Michelangelo is also a remarkable detail throughout the movie, representing the new paradigm of society.
Finally, Buzz choosing their average team instead of the proffessional army and being a space ranger was a little bit cheesy in my opinion, but it's acceptable.
The storyline is amazing and it's full of action and relentless dynamism, making it incredible attention-grabbing.
DEFINITELY WORTH-WATCHING.
