I think what really gets me about Maul post-TPM is that he’s the only Star Wars character with true agency. Because of the way the films were made, every character in the prequels is already predestined for a role—Obi-Wan must go to Tatooine, Anakin must become Vader, every person they care about must be lost to them, and every villain but Sidious must die. Maul isn’t constrained by the narrative because he’s already played his part. He killed Qui-Gon; his job is done. He was never meant to be anything more than a one-off villain, so when he’s brought back, he’s without a destiny in the way that so many other characters are not. He has nowhere he needs to end up, no one he needs to be. He alone has the power to escape from the narrative—but he doesn’t. He buys into the narrative, buys into the conflict between light and dark, buys into the idea that he has to participate in it. Maul dies to Obi-Wan on Tatooine because he makes the mistake of going back, of trying to put himself in a narrative that has no place for him anymore.

Listen I have no problem with fanon, I am a firm believer that in fandom you are free to headcanon whatever you want, but I feel like we are missing on some hilarious interactions over the fact that Tim Drake is a health nut job.

I do not have receipts right now because I was feeding the dogs when it hit me, but from what I remember Tim eats kale chips, he also prefers egg whites omelettes, this is the boy that made a school assembly to say don’t do drugs kiddos, I am pretty sure he would also be against alcohol for similar reasons.

Look I love the angsty fics where the batfam realizes that Tim cannot take care of himself, but I would pay for fics where they find out that, out of everyone in the family Tim is the one that takes the most care about his physical health (his mental health tho… that’s a different story)

Boy has an exercise regime, he probably meal preps to have easy on the go food that fits his needs, you open his pantry and there’s not a single “unhealthy” food in it, he drinks green juice in the morning alongside his white egg omelette and low sodium bacon. Bernard is invited to movie night and Tim brings out veggie straws, kale chips, carrots, celery and hummus alongside kombucha.

Writing Bruce feels like herding a wild cat to a door with a broom but the door it's a metaphor of 'not being an asshole'.

Red Robin era Tim was too powerful. His immune system actually need his spleen removed so he didn’t develop an autoimmune reaction from being such a badass.

He took on Ra's al Ghul mainly because he was just getting annoyed by him??? sir that’s one of the most powerful people on the planet

and he faked his own murder??? twice??? (bonding time with your sister 🥰) and it worked???

also not to mention everyone wanted Tim, not just romantically (even though, let’s face it, that as well) like the villains were basically begging him to switch sides and team up

also the unternet Red Robin costume, we lost it far too soon

they had to remove his spleen, kill of Alvin Draper and reboot the entire universe because Tim was just too good
