Disney Princesses X Marvel

Disney Princesses x Marvel

A diversion from the IAC universe...

This started as a Disney Princesses thing but expanded to include female characters from Disney films that would fit the bill.

Basically finding a Marvel equivalent for Disney characters.

Snow White:

Snow White - Struggling to think of a Marvel character that is good at sleeping, with a weakness for poison apples.

She does charm all the animals when she's singing, maybe Nature Girl? Or Nina Gurzky from the Apocalypse movie.

Cinderella:

Cinderella - Sersi (w blue colour scheme)

After her Fairy Godmother's transmutation magic (Pumpkin into coach etc).

Alice in Wonderland:

Alice - Stature

#eat me #drink me

Peter Pan:

Tinkerbell - Pixie (w green colour scheme)

Obviously.

Wendy - Wasp (w light blue colour sceme)

Mimicking Tinkerbell's size and flight with tech.

Sleeping Beauty:

Aurora - Dr Strange (w pink colour scheme)

After Maleficent's power set

The Sword in the Stone:

Mad Madam Mim - Morgan le Fay

Maybe giving Mim too much credit here.

Mary Poppins:

Mary Poppins - Scarlet Witch

Reality altering powers? Check. Scarier than she looks? Check.

Jungle Book:

Shanti - Beast Master

From Mowgli's affinity with animals.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks:

Miss Eglantine Price - Magik maybe?

A better magic user than she gives herself credit for.

Robin Hood:

Maid Marian - Hawkeye (Clint Barton w pink colour sceme)

After Robin's archery skills.

The Black Cauldron:

Princess Eilonwy - Sylvie (w Black body armour, white cloak and pink trousers)

Black cauldron is all a bit mystical isn't it? Maybe I should watch it again.

The Little Mermaid:

Ariel - Namor (w Purple top and green bottoms)

After King Triton's powers. There is a Marvel Triton (Inhumans), but his look and powers don't match up.

Beauty and the Beast:

Belle - Beast of the X-Men (w yellow costume and brown fur)

After the Beast's powers and Belle's smarts.

Aladdin:

Jasmine - Captain Agrabah

This is a reach. After the Genie's reality altering powers. Jamie Braddock was the first character to spring to mind, brother to Captain Britain, and the movie is set in the fictional city of Agrabah.

Pocahontas:

Pocahontas - Ghost Rider

No powers in Pocahontas but there is a Powhatan Ghost Rider in the comics.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame:

Esmerelda - Dazzler maybe?

Cos she sings and dances? idk

Hercules:

Megara - Marvel's Hercules or Mephisto?

From the power set of the protagonist/antagonist of her movie.

Mulan:

Mulan - Agent May

Obviously.

Tarzan:

Jane Porter - Kazar

Obviously.

The Emperor's New Groove

Yzma - Sersi again?

Because of her transmutation skills? idk

Atlantis: The Lost Empire:

Kida - Namora/Namorita

Who else?

Lilo and Stitch:

Lilo - Love (from Love and Thunder)

Nani - The Mighty Thor

In the scenario where OG Thor sacrifices himself so that Mighty Thor can look after her little sister.

The Incredibles:

Elastigirl - Mr(s) Fantastic

Violet Parr - The Invisible Woman

Perfect power sets.

Wall-E:

EVE - Jocasta

Had to be.

The Princess and the Frog:

Tiana - Sister Voodoo

Gender swapped, after Shadow Man and Mama Odie's powers.

Tangled:

Rapunzel - Medusa (Inhumans)

Really long hair with magical powers...

Brave:

Merida - Hawkeye (Kate Bishop - Green colour scheme)

Perfect.

Wreck-It-Ralph:

Vanelope von Schweetz - Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)

In a souped up racing cart/tiny hot rod.

Frozen:

Elsa - Ice Man

Anna - Ever since Frozen II I've thought that Anna should have plant based powers, so maybe Klara Plast? Groot?

Big Hero 6:

Go Go

Honey Lemon

These two already are Marvel characters.

Zootopia:

Judy Hopps - Umm...Rabbit Girl instead of Squirrel Girl? idk

Moana:

Moana - Can't think of an equivalent, even though she befriends a Polynesian demigod and calms a corrupted Goddess!

Onward:

Corey - There is actually a Marvel character called Manticore but he does not do this character justice.

Raya and the Last Dragon:

Raya - Blue Dragon from Marvel's Future Fight

She is called Blue DRAGON, she is a physical fighter like Raya, and she hails from Vietnam (Kelly Marie Tran is ethnically Vietnamese).

Encanto:

Abuela - Nick Fury

She knows how to put together a Team of supers.

Julieta - Heals with food. No equivalent in Marvel that I can think of.

Pepa - Storm or Crystal

Isabella - Plantwoman

Genderswapped Plantman.

Luisa - Captain Colombia

Super strength, agility and endurance like Captain America, but Luisa is Colombian.

Mirabel - Maria Hill

About to become Abuela's second in command/sucessor.

The X-Men adaption of my heart would in fact be a low-stakes sitcom about the Mutant Brotherhood. Yes, they are absolutely getting up to world-shaping shenanigans off-screen, it's just not central to the story.

Episodes would include:

- Magneto is trying to plan a Pesach seder and keeps getting interrupted. Interruptions range from "Dad, we tried to bake more matzah and somehow the oven caught on fire and Pyro tried to help and now the whole kitchen is on fire!" to "No, Erik, we have to reschedule the seder because we need to assassinate this Senator tonight."

- Wanda accidentally opened a portal to Hell while experimenting with her powers, and now everyone is scrambling to get rid of all the demons, curses, and general chaos before Erik gets home.

- X-Men vs. Brotherhood prank war. Pietro moves all of the furniture in the X-Mansion two inches to the left. Kitty sneaks into the Brotherhood's headquarters and glitterbombs everything. Wanda puts an actual curse on the X-Men uniforms that just ties everyone's shoelaces together at inconvenient moments.

- The Brotherhood has a betting pool on Magneto's relationship/intensely homoerotic rivalry/frienemies with benefits set-up/kismesitude with Professor X. Mystique is trying to "subtly" rearrange circumstances in order to win the bet. So is Angel. So is Emma Frost.

Unbeknownst to them, the X-Men also have a betting pool on Professor X's relationship/intensely homoerotic rivalry/frienemies with benefits set-up/kismesitude with Magneto. Jean Grey is also trying to "subtly" rearrange circumstances in order to win the bet. So is Gambit. So is Kitty Pryde.

Chaos ensues.

1946 Agent Carter series 1

The first MCU TV show to be IAC'd!

The Marvel one shot is incorporated to this first series as part of the story. Then the actual 1st season of Agent Carter follows.

The SSR investigation into Zodiac from one shot is abandoned at request from higher ups. They say that as the evidence was uncovered whilst investigating Hydra, and Hydra is no more, it will lead to a dead end and is, therefore, a waste of time.

Howard was a high ranking member of the SSR during WWII but after failing to get government backing for the foundation of S.H.I.E.L.D. (as he promised in the Agent Carter movie and the actual Marvel one-shot), he was not allowed back in the SSR, Peggy had to ask for her job back and was transferred to a new office. The Howling Commandos, The Human Torch and the Falsworth children are all in limbo between S.H.I.E.L.D. not happening and the SSR blackballing them.

Make references to how Agent Flynn was not complimentary (says Dooley), how hard it has been to start over again after Flynn's discrimination and her success in the one-shot seems forgotten (says Peggy). She's angry at Howard for not following through and leaving her humiliated in having to ask for her job back. Howard is adamant that it should have worked out and he can't understand why whoever it is changed their mind.

Also, we replace Rose Roberts with Marlene Frazier, played by Taraji P. Henson (sorry Lesley Boone!). She will be important for Blue Marvel later on.

The scene between Dr Faustus and Arnim Zola could show them pooling their knowledge of mind control to devise Hydra's new brainwashing techniques.

No other changes.

Evidence that Loki was Tortured

There’s plenty of evidence that Thanos tortured Loki between Thor (2011) and Avengers (2012), and there are lots of posts about it. But I’ve never seen all the evidence (gifs, movie quotes, and interviews) gathered in one place, so I made this for reference and convenient linking. Additions are welcome. (I’ll reblog my own addition because only ten images per post. Ugh.)

(That was really short….I hate writing introductions.)

Gifs:

Evidence That Loki Was Tortured
Evidence That Loki Was Tortured

(Gifs by @tomhiddleston-loki)

Loki holds himself very still while the Other raised (his? its?) hand to his head. His eyes are visibly watering, he blinks rapidly, and he swallows hard in the first gif. He’s terrified, he knows it’s going to hurt, but he doesn’t fight back. He knows better. He’s learned better.

Evidence That Loki Was Tortured

It looks like his face is burned or bruised here (credits scene for Thor (2011)). Given how much you have to do to leave a mark on his skin, that’s…pretty frightening. (I will add evidence for this in my self-reblog; only ten images per post.)

(Gif by @tomhiddleston-gifs)

Note how much worse he looks here than he does at the end of Thor (2011). (I’ll also address this in the self-reblog.) He’s very pale. There are dark circles under his eyes as well, most notably in this last gif, but visible in the previous three as well. He’s really sweaty, which you can see most clearly in the top two gifs. And then….

Evidence That Loki Was Tortured

(I have no idea who made this gif; if anyone recognizes it, please let me know and I will add credit)

Evidence That Loki Was Tortured
Evidence That Loki Was Tortured

(I got these from @nikkoliferous)

He doubles over when he’s walking out of the lab with his mind-controlled people. And then his back gives out on him when he’s climbing into the Hummer, and he looks desperate, tired, and scared when he looks up, shivering. None of which makes sense unless he was previously injured.

Gifs 4-10 (of all gifs on this post) speak of heat exhaustion/heat stroke, considering….

The most common signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion include:

Confusion (will include a gif of this in my addition)

Dark-colored urine

Dizziness (cause of doubling over)

Fainting (cause of doubling over)

Fatigue

Headache

Muscle or abdominal cramps (cause of doubling over/back giving out/trembling)

Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea (cause of doubling over)

Pale skin

Profuse sweating

Rapid heartbeat

(From https://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/heat-exhaustion#1-2 )

Consider, now, that Loki is a Frost Giant. Consider how much worse that’d make either of those already serious conditions.

Quote(s) from the Movies:

“You think you know pain? He will make you long for something sweet as pain.” —the Other

“You think you know pain?” The Other knows that Loki knows what pain is. How would he know exactly how much pain Loki’d been in? How would he know that he can make it worse than any pain Loki’s felt before unless he’d been there, maybe even caused it?

And Thanos doesn’t shy away from torture; actually, it’s more or less his M.O. when it comes to indoctrinating recruits/his “children”:

“He tortured me, turned me into a weapon.”—Gamora

“Thanos pulled my eye from my head, my brain from my skull, and my arm from my body….”—Nebula (I omitted the rest of the quote because it wasn’t strictly relevant)

“As a child my father would have Gamora and me battle one another in ‘training.’ Every time my sister prevailed my father would replace a piece of me with machinery, claiming he wanted me to be her equal. But she won, again and again and again. Never once refraining. Because of them, I am this. So after I murder my sister, I will buy a warship with every conceivable instrument of death. I will hunt my father like a dog and I will tear him apart slowly, piece by piece, until he knows some semblance of the profound and unceasing pain I know every single day.“—Nebula

While we’re on the subject of Thanos’ children…recall Ebony Maw’s speech:

“Hear me and rejoice. You have had the privilege of being saved by the great Thanos. You may think this is suffering, no. It is salvation. The universal scale tips toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile. For even in death, you have become children of Thanos.”

Doesn’t that sound sort of like Loki’s speech….

(After demanding that a crowd kneels) “Is this not simpler? Is this not your natural state? It’s the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life’s joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity….You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel.”

Both have similar undertones of “you think this is bad for you; no, it’s actually good. It’s what you really want.”

Incidentally, Ebony Maw also happens to be a master torturer (as is evident when he tortures Doctor Strange, which I can’t include a gif of until the reblog).

How convenient.

Links to Interviews + Relevant Quotes:

From http://collider.com/the-avengers-tom-hiddleston-interview/ :

“I think somewhere between the end of Thor and the beginning of The Avengers, Loki has been to the Marvel equivalent of the 7th circle of hell.”

From https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=VdfobYiZsVk&t=1050 (it’s at around 17:35 if the link doesn’t take you there):

“I think he went, like with everything else to—Joss Whedon and I discussed it…[…]—it was just, like, the worst place imaginable. I think he went to sort of all the darkest recesses of the universe. I’m sure he had a brush with—several brushes with death. I think he ran into the shadiest characters you can find in the Nine Realms. I think he had to rely on his wits to protect himself. It was really, really, really unpleasant, I think. I don’t have any frame of reference for that except for imagining what it might be like to be kidnapped by a terrorist cell or something and have to survive a very, very frightening and precarious existence. But whatever it was, it was important that when Loki came back for the Avengers that whatever compassion he had left was absolutely shriveled to a minimum because of the experience that he had. Harrowing, I think, and scarring for life—in a way that Thor and Odin and Frigga find very, very difficult to understand.”

(Please don’t reblog without my reblog immediately below; it’s important!)
