I see one of my friends once a week most weeks, sometimes two or three weeks between seeing each other, and every time she asks "what are you currently obsessing over" to welcome and give room for me to talk about my hyperfixations/special interest.

This friend is neurotypical and doesn't quite understand why I am the way I am about things I love, but they try to give me room to be myself and she asks questions about things.

I think this is what it means to be loved and accepted...
