Smaugust week 1! Many dragons, and a lot of blue. I will always follow the rules of "anything can be a dragon".
This version of the progress flag legitimately looks so nice

Gilbert baker rainbow, huge intersex circle, the design is cluttered but in a good way 10/10
[ID: A version of the progress pride flag with a large purple intersex ring outlined in gold, looping through pink, blue, brown, and black chevrons on the side, which have a base of white. The horizontal stripes are: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, and purple. End ID.]

The line between tragedeigh and chaotic evil enby names is thinner than I want to believe
I love tumblr because it has funny little gay people in it, and the funny little gay people are also my friends
woke up and someone spilled vanilla extract all over my dash, so as punishment you strange little beasties are getting all the VANILLA FACTS i know:
vanilla is the 2nd most expensive spice in the world (2nd to saffron)
which is why more than 99% of what we call "vanilla extract" is actually vanillin (vanilla's dominant flavor compound) and is not extracted from real vanilla.
luckily, even professionals struggle to tell the difference when it comes to things like baked goods. but there is a distinct difference in non-heat treated products like vanilla ice cream. real vanilla has a more complex, individualized flavor profile.
why is vanilla so expensive? because it is a ridiculously delicate & demanding crop. complete primadonna.
vanilla beans come from vanilla orchids. these crazy flowers bloom for A SINGLE DAY and have to be HAND-POLLINATED in a process that is exhausting, delicate, and requires specialist knowledge passed down over generations.
then, if you're lucky, you get vanilla beans.
which then require months of further specialized treatment.
the entire process takes about a year and can go wrong at any stage

vanilla has been cultivated for over 800 years (possibly much longer). the first known cultivators are the Totonac, an indigenous people of Mexico.
the Aztecs used it as a sweetener to balance out the bitter taste of cocoa. it was popular in a drink called xocolatl--the precursor to modern hot chocolate!
it is only pollinated by a very specific orchid bee!!!
which is why no fruit could be grown outside of Mexico until the 1800s
Edmond Albius, born into slavery, invented the pollination method we still use today--launching a global industry when he was just 12 years old.
today, the majority of the world's vanilla is grown in Madagascar
if you want real vanilla, read the labels carefully--it's harder to find than you think!

in conclusion, those tiny black specks you see in fancy vanilla ice cream? those are vanilla bean seeds! itty bitty orchid seeds!!! they are delicious and also a PRISSY BITCH!

hi this is a comic about me please be nice

grabs your hand. you've had enough plot and exposition and character development lately im taking you to the beach episode
if you told vin diesel fast and the furious you were gay he'd be like "Some people like driving stick…some people like driving automatic…what matters is you cross the finish line.." and then he'd rev up a dodge challenger and drive through a building and kill 16 people

i am once again reminded of the fact that toby fox is a genius at comedic pacing
queer platonic polycule whose primary purpose is to allow us to afford a house

I have that kind of neurodivergence that makes me happy when my clocks are exactly 30.5 minutes ahead of what time it actually is
The simple things in life like tearing apart a whole chicken and stuffing it in my face with my bare hands like the rabid creature I am
Me after downloading multiple songs from Hazbin Hotel: "Maybe I do like musicals" "Oh shit, I'm gay… wait" I've known since 2016
WHERES THE HRT THAT GIVES ME HORNS

I have changed a lot from the kid I was when I was 13. Any type of love apart from cis/hetero relationships used to not compute for me, and now I'm out to 5 people in my day-to-day life. And honestly, I do kind of owe it a little bit(a whole lot) to Undertale for opening up a different life path. I could have ended up really freaking stupid and probably super depressed without it.
I have never understood the desire to create more than I ever have at this very moment
I'll brb in like 15 minutes with my dark urges quelled

Dish, disc, disk, desk, dais, disco, and discus all stem from one and the same word: Ancient Greek δίσκος. Each entered English in its own way at its own time. They're an example of etymological doublets: coexisting words in one language that share their ancestor.
